If you ink the base to build your special first thing, when you die and respawn, it will be much more difficult to fill when you really need it. You will fill your special just fine getting to the centre and setting up a small patch. The base will get inked in slowly over the course of the match as you and your team respawn.

Honestly, I really want to encourage the habit of not wasting any more time outside of the frontline than you absolutely have to. It's almost never the best move. Deciding to cede the centre of the map to the other team in a game about territory control is not a good idea!

I (usually) don't die when I get my special though.

Its okay to dedicate like 30 seconds to inking the base.

Y'all ready for tomorrow, the last day before the reckoning of our playtimes? I don't want to know mine... I mean, I do, but only out of morbid curiosity.

30 seconds is enough time for an entire enemy team to get a well-oiled rollout into the middle and set up completely. :|

The other team was pink tho?
I dunno. Lasers definitely aren't the other teams color (trust me, I main one). Sometimes I don't see the laser at all when I'm picked off, if the charger is really quick; perhaps you saw your own team's laser, followed by the other team's getting a quick shot in?

Hahahaha...

Still....

NO.

Team Mayo is doomed.

We got this on lockdown, baby!

I've locked down multiple matches as a charger on Inkblot. If you're smart enough, even suction bombs aren't a problem. It's probably the only stage I'd ever rely on holding the middle for the entire match though.

I've not played as a charger, but the ones I have played against are usually bad. A good sniper is hell on this map, though.

Haha. Just when I think I'm out they pull me back in.

I genuinely believe there are more than one valid strategy. As a veteran, of course.

Time won't change that, my friend.

Also, when does better = only way?

I don't know. You tell me. Since when does me saying something is better = only one way? This is the issue we're having here. You aren't arguing in good faith. We were both talking about what we thought was best. But apparently when I say what I think is best, I'm saying there's only one way to play. But when you say what you think is best... you aren't? Either we both are or neither of us are.

That's why you're disingenuous. It's hypocritical, and it doesn't help your argument. It only hurts it.

Peace out.

How do I do the super jump on respawn? I can never reliably do it. It's just hold the direction of your teammate and press A, right?
I found it easier to super jump by using the cursor (when using motion controls.) Much easier to point at an icon on the map than trying to quickly figure out who is who. Simply press A when hovering the cursor over someone.

I'm S+ on Rainmaker without touching another weapon, so I can't be too shabby :p

The discussion I think changes a bit for weapons like chargers, who's most valuable contribution is locking out the other team rather than turfing fast (though their turfing ability is often underestimated; I frequently can put down 1000+p pre-win bonus with one).

I wish I could find out what my average points per match are. I feel like they are ~900.

speaking of splatnet, did you know you can check who on your friend list is on what team? that's how i know whippy is the only motherfucker around here i trust to watch my back against you tomato-loving weirdos

There's no fucking ranked turf war, so no one gives a flying fuck about your rank.

With respect, I think you must be playing at a relatively low level. You'll get splatted eventually even as a good player, the question is whether you could push forward in the process. 30 seconds is enough time for a good team to completely take over the centre, which is incredibly hard to come back from on some maps (Inkblot, Mainstage). I would really get out of the habit of spending too long at base if you want to improve much.

I should probably add some friends on here huh, maybe tomorrow.

I hear you.

But thats the thing. Its a constant battle in Turf War. You could control the center in the beginning and totally lose it in the end. Its a tug of war.

Why does it feel like I'm so squishy while my opponents take like 80 hits to go down? Even if they dont have ink armor or defense+ boosts

My only Switch friend is team High Fructose Corn Syrup sauce. They will live to regret their decision when the rightful heir, Patty Mayonnaise takes the crown.

I get what you are saying but you need to remember that rushing to the middle without going for full coverage can leave you disadvantaged in any close game. Not inking your own area also makes it easier for the opposition to push their advantage on your side. Most good teams can lock down the map with 3 players anyway so if you trust your teammates it isn't that big of a deal.

How is the single player? I never played the first game but am really intrigued by what I've seen.

Its really good. The levels are much more dynamic and better then the first. Almost Mario Galaxy esque but without the gravity mechanic. There are roughly 25 levels plus 5 bosses.

The bosses aren't as good as Splatoon 1 but they are still pretty good. The best part is that Splatoon 2 is more replayable as it allows you to take every key weapon back into the campaign as a way to practice. There are 8 weapons so that will give you about 40 hours worth of play should you want to master everything.

Splatoon 2 also added a rythm minigame. Its suprisingly addictive.

Would 100% recomend buying it just for singleplayer.

Its actually really fun in the beginning but online has totally snatched me away. Lol

Short but fantastic and very fun.

The first one was awesome. The final boss was amazing (Spoilers, obv). I haven't touched much in 2 but it seems to be about on par with the first.

Thanks, sounds great. I'm okay with a short campaign ala Titanfall 2, something that lets you get your feet wet mechanically speaking.

Literally never played rainmaker. What's the goal? Get the gun and run towards their base? Do you win by how long you've held it if no one gets to base? Or just how far you've gotten?

Yeah, you gotta put in on the platform near their base. And it counts distance like tower control.

The rainmaker is a gun that's protected by a shield that you have to shoot to break. Once you break the shield (causing damage to the other team), you have to pick up the gun and bring it to the goal (Note: The goal is not the enemy spawn).

If time runs out it's based on how "close" you got to the goal. The reason goal is in quotes is because distance is sort of arbitrary based on the "best path" to the goal. It's really weird how the distance works sometimes.

I don't look and am not at my Switch right now... What's the weapons on the next Salmon Run? Are they as shitty as the ones from this last session? It was hard as fuck with those, especially the Inkbrush, nearly useless in Salmon Run.

SP is definitely a great way to get accustomed to the game in the beginning. Definitely helps you see the different weapon types. I would say that the meat of the game in the only mode. Salmon Run is Co-op, so you can always get your online feet wet playing that.

It's better it's slosher, splattershot jr., charger with scope and splash o matic i think i can't make out that one.

And the one shift after that is: GAL 96, Mini Splattling, normal squelcher and duallies.
