How exactly are you supposed to get some of the hero weapons for multiplayer? I know you have to beat every stage with a weapon to get that version for multiplayer, but what are you supposed to do on stages obviously designed for long range weapons with the Dualies or the Slosher?

Seriously, that last bit on the first charger level is hard enough with a charger or the splatling. I can't imagine doing it with a medium or short-range weapon.

Would love to know how people have gone about that too.

I did think I read that levels adapt slightly to different weapons, is that true or have I got that wrong?

The level you mentioned was "throwing switch against the wall" levels of frustration.

Beat every level with that weapon. Some levels have extra platforms to help in some cases. The anchor things can be hit with grenades as well.

Thanks, that confirms that the levels do adapt slightly to certain weapons then.

I know about using grenades but I imagine that level being worse trying to line up 3 grenades quickly than using the charger lol. My reflexes just aren't good enough though.

Just out of curiosity, are hero weapons purely cosmetic? Or do they offer any advantages over "normal" weapons?

I didn't find it too bad, it's only a few you can't get by jumping and shooting from a nearby platform. The worst bit is the end iirc but one careful grenade sorts that out.

Just cosmetic, same special and stats as the standard versions. Sadly you cant get the splat brella early either.

After my many Rainmaker Losses:

I am growing tired of the Slosher now, but it's still doing me well for Ranked.

You're talking about single player?

Does that mean that scrolls can sometimes only be reached with specific weapons (and not always the one provided at first)?

Because I've found the scroll in the
charger level in second world
but I've been unable to reach it, and I tried a LOT of things :/

OK, that helps. I figured that some of those bits with the grappling points would be impossible with short range weapons if they didn't change up the levels somewhat.

Is the Hero Splattershot just a copy of the normal Splattershot, and not the Jr or the Tentatek? I like the look of that one, and I'm pretty decent with the standard Splattershot so I might go for it.

Thanks for the helpful replies.

The one sitting on the high tower? It stumped me, but maybe take a walk round the back and you might something that helps you get there ;) You can get there using any weapon.

Teammates disconnections makes me regret purchasing this game at full price. I don't care that the matches are only 3 mimites long, it still sucks.

Sometimes this game is really frustrating. There were a couple of times where I had carried my team into having ridiculous amount of turf splatted, and nobody was helping me out for when the respawned inklings 3v1'd me. Once I died, it was a gamechanging moment.

I've been there before. Lol

Kinda makes you wanna cry.

I wonder if there was a way that if a teammate DC's, the 3 man team gets some sort of bonus like extra armour (adrenaline rush kinda thing?) or something that makes them take a few more hits to kill?

Just a random idea to balance out DC's. Obviously they could do the COD route and just bring a random in halfway through the match. But then you would get people joining in the last seconds on a losing team, and that would be just as bad IMO.

...I wonder how many threads are we gonna have about "Splatoon 2 having this problem or that problem" or about "Metroid and it's amiibos".

Isn't there supposed to be an OT for that reason?

Having an unreal run in turf war at the moment 36/50 wins. Freshnesh at 21.0.

9 wins in a row, 17 of the last 18.

The Splat Gods Giveth good teamates. And the Splat Gods can taketh away.

Ive had runs where i was 36-14. My freshness was at 26.0. Felt invincible. Then the Splat gods reminded me of humility. Putting me on not so efficient teams and i went on like 24 -26 run.

haven't been playing a lot of ranked. managed to get to B- in rainmaker, then this morning i started tower control. is there any reason I went from C- to B- in only one rank up? did it match my rank in rainmaker? or was it cause i only lost 1 game?

You have three separate ranks for each mode.

When rainmaker starts again you'll see that you're still B-

edit: Sorry, I read your post again, what can happen is if you perform very well you can jump a rank. Not sure what you need to do exactly to "qualify" for that. As I've had some very good matches but still not jumped up like that.

Would love to jump from B to A lol. But the best I can hope for is B+ as I've not once jumped from one letter to the next.

What exactly do you need to do in a match for that to happen?

To everyone frustrated by other people disconnecting, please think about playing Ranked! In my experience the disconnections are MUCH less frequent there. (Also, Ranked is fun and match type variety is good for keeping things fresh!)

I've had Turf Wars sessions where 25-40% (estimate) of games had a disconnect, on Ranked I believe it to be less than 10%.

For the record, I play with a wired connection and have zero disconnects so I'm one of the good guys!!

You've heard of "New news, new thread", right? There's also the unwritten rule of "New hotness, new thread".

Anyone else having a tetris effect with splatoon? Whenever I close my eyes I see yellow ink in starfish mainstage and an inkling glowing hair trying to use their special. I also had a dream about turf war last night lol.

I'm not even playing the game that much (only two hours a day) and it's already consuming my mind.

The Tenacity Ability would certainly be nice as an innate perk given to teams with an early disconnect.

I'm an Octobrush main... and the solution to beating the level in question is throwing splatbombs at the grappling hooks. Yeah... it's annoying as it sounds, but I'll be damned if I don't get that Hero Brush.

I don't know if I can be bothered to play certain levels over again.

It's a shame you're not rewarded for your patience though. I think the hero weapons should have different stats at least.

I'm also disappointed that there's no more unlocks after level 30. Would have been great to get more with each subsequent level.
