This really adds to the Super rumor too for them to be building up all this content. Im really glad Capcom is sticking to this update/service business model.
I mean, Capcom did reiterate that they're sticking with their updates-until-2020 plan numerous times. I'm actually curious as to what this update may entail besides Arcade Mode (if it's actually happening). This really adds to the Super rumor too for them to be building up all this content. Actually, maybe this could explain why the arcade port took so long.

My concern is that they may recast Chun-Li if they do brand new arcade endings. Even with MvCI being a unionized production, Laura Bailey was too busy to come back for that. But I guess because she already did voice work for SFV, maybe she'll return to do an arcade ending.I do think they're putting effort into the Arcade Mode because Capcom could have shit out a basic, no frills arcade mode like what Tekken 7 launched with by now.
I'm not questioning them, just putting it out there.I kind of find both hilarious and sad that some people feel the need to even question my buying habits in this thread.
Glad they might be adding it for people who want it, I won't be touching it though, waste of effort as far as my tastes are concerned.

I'm hoping it gets a Pro patch if it does get something of a rerelease. Tekken 7's pro patch is a big upgrade from the PS4 standard version and SFV on PC looks incredible. Yeah I know, just play PC and all that, but I tend to stick to console with fighting games in general.
I agree and I've emailed Capcom recently about it. I'd like higher resolution, more AA, and maybe even motion blur if it's not too intrusive.I'm hoping it gets a Pro patch if it does get something of a rerelease. The only time I ever play arcade mode is to unlock stuff. What's this obsession over arcade mode?
I want a Pro patch too, but Tekken 7's Pro patch is kinda underwhelming. It's only 1080p with better effects, which is much better than the base game's 864p (what even is that resolution?), but still.
So my expectations for a SFV Pro patch are low. I'm hoping for 1440p, supersampling for HDTVs, whatever PC ultra settings are, a motion blur option, and all the anti-aliasing we can get.
If this is true about including stages and costumes then Capcom has found a way to give new customers a great deal while also incentivizing existing customers who haven't bought much DLC to just buy the whole game again. Even if it included just one premium costume per character, that would be like 160 dollars of costumes for 40-60 bucks.I'm not questioning them, just putting it out there.
There are rumblings of a new retail disc for SFV coming out early next year with every character up to S2 (28 characters), every stage, and possibly a bunch of costumes for $40-60. The Deluxe Edition (28 characters with DLC outfits for the S1 and S2 guys) also regularly goes on sale for $40-48.
If you're really interested, I'd say to wait on that retail release for a great deal and then earn the S3 guys.
The problem with this logic is that not everyone's first experience with a game is the first iteration. Example, some pros didn't play SF4 until Super.
That makes zero sense. SFV is a living product and if these rumours are true then people buying in later will get massively more content for way less money than everyone who bought in at launch.
Furthermore, if it's the causal audience who want this kind of content, the same audience who doesn't care about "competitive" play online, then it doesn't matter when they pick up the game to play with their friends or vs CPU. There's no expiration date and there's no superior SF type fighting game that makes SFV obsolete.
Anyone who trots out "too late" in response to these developments is totally brainless and just looking for complaints.
Rather than a high resolution it'd be better if a hypothetical Pro patch got the PC's motion blur. It looks nice.
SFV is talked about like crazy on GAF largely by people who seem to hate it. Word of mouth for this game is ongoing, and if Capcom releases an update with lots of single player content, people will talk about it and the people who want that content will hear about it. Anyone who doesn't have an irrational hate boner for the game will reassess whether they want to buy in. Some people will. The damage can be partially undone. The only people Capcom has lost forever ("lost" implying they had them at some point) are the irrational chuckleheads who are so mad at a company for something that happened 18 months ago that nothing that happens to the game will change their mind. Do you think that's a lot of people or a whiny minority? But the damage is done was my point. Street Fighter IV launched as a "complete" product. So there was no bad word of mouth that was preventing continued sales for longer legs.
Street Fighter V has both bad word of mouth as well as exclusivity working against it. SFIV had the PS360 base to sell to. SFV has for all intents and purposes, just PS4. I'm aware the PC market is there and it's size is big, but fighters have traditionally never been huge sellers on PC compared to console. Let alone one with a launch as rocky as SFV.
That's why I was saying that this is too late for non-existing owners.
For me? It's great. Any excuse to jump back in (outside trying to get the Platinum) is a good thing. I just don't see Arcade mode this far after a shit launch suddenly getting people through the gates in droves.
Glad they might be adding it for people who want it, I won't be touching it though, waste of effort as far as my tastes are concerned.
I fucking called it when I said all those complaining about Arcade Mode would'd use the 'its too late' excuse.
Capcom cannot win because all of you have decided to hate the game for life. Arcade Mode is just a convenient banner to rally behind.
The Pro can handle both.
It's only "too late" if you have no interest in playing Street Fighter. Not sure how many times the same exact thing needs to be addressed in one thread. It not an excuse. The game should of had it at release or very close to release. It, and other issues caused lack of sales and the poisoning of the games reputation.
Arcade mode missing is a good reason not to buy, and now the game is poisoned it is too late.
I bought it on launch.
I think a better example would be the new Metro City Bay Area stage where the game changes from night time to day time in the same match.Weather and dynamic time of day in stages was on the initial pitch. They wanted to have a random time of day and or weather each time you load a stage.
This was scrapped but you can still see I think the new zeland stage with day and night version or kanzaki estate

You know that one saying: better late than never. Personally i would buy the game finally when arcade mode gets added. It's a year too late

It if includes costumes and stages it a good deal, though looking at SSFIV, AE and Ultra discs...they all missed costumes. Without them a new disc release a waste of time. People will want a complete edition like other fighters get.
Your post wasn't any different from the other similar posts in the thread that said the exact same thing you said and were replied to. Hell, on this very page, even, if you don't want to go to a previous page. Just scroll up.No interest for them anymore due to it being poisoned. I covered this in my post.
Honestly I think Capcom should cut their losses, unless they signed some long-term agreement with organizers/sponsors.
It's not going to have a D3 FF14 revival.
Can you present your case using a logical argument instead of metaphorical language like "poisoned"? What percentage of potential customers feel this way in your mind? How many of them who would have genuine interest in the game IF it had single player content will simply refuse to indulge their interest because the game has been out since early 2016? Why does that make sense for them? Because of anger? Indignation? Retaliation? No interest for them anymore due to it being poisoned. I covered this in my post.
Why, that'd do nothing but piss off those who own &/or follow the game.Honestly I think Capcom should cut their losses, unless they signed some long-term agreement with organizers/sponsors.

Unfortunately every major update is basically the whole game again, so 8 - 9GB.The old arcade mode rumor/fantasy lives on! I'll believe it when I see it.
An when I see it I'll get the game! Hopefully on a fresh new disc with that and other stuffs included. Dun wanna buy the game an then spend weeks downloading it via patch. Anyone happen ta know the current patch size of the game on PS4?
Why, that'd do nothing but piss off those who own &/or follow the game.
Ouch! That'd def take me a long time to get downloaded. C'mon new disc for which I'd never accept updates for x.x;Unfortunately every major update is basically the whole game again, so 8 - 9GB.
People who expecting SSFV to have all costumes are delusional. If SSFV launch with arcade mode, dojo mode, expand on the game's mechanics, it will be great.
its still the better fighting game. It's a year too late
Good question that I'd also love ta have an answer for! I like me some DOA but 5/LR is a confusing mess. Costumes are one thing but I can't even figure out if the PS4 LR disc includes ALL characters?when's the DOA5 complete disc?
I want a "Super Street Fighter 5" with all the eventually end content
I hope that's not a controversial statement, especially considering that fight money doesn't lock anyone out
