Email from Wal-Mart

"Hello XXXX,
We're really sorry, but one or more items you purchased are currently on backorder and may be delayed. We'll be getting more inventory and will fill your order as soon as we can.
If we can't ship the items by 10/07, we'll cancel the items, begin processing your refund and let you know by email."

Hey GET FUCKED. This is the second time I've have an order for this same item cancelled. KEEP MY PREORDER. FULFILL IT WHEN IT ARRIVES.

What the shit, dude? Fuck you, Wal-Mart!

My Mother ordered a unit through Wal Mart. I passed a long to her what happened to you. So we're prepared for the worst case scenario. Hers still sits on 'Processing'

That sucks for those who got that dreaded delayed e-mail from Walmart.

I'm one of the lucky ones, they shipped it yesterday and is due to arrive on 10/9.

I don't understand why Wal-Mart is prolonging this shit. If you can't ship them, just let us all know now so we're not sitting here biting our nails.

I woke up at about 5AM. I wasn't sure if that was too late but I gave it a try. I called a 24 hour Walmart across from work, they sold out last night. I convinced myself to at least try to go to a store since I was already up.

First store: another Walmart. They opened at 0600 and I got there at about 0607. Not only were they sold out but I saw a woman with a cart that had three of them in there. I was annoyed.

Went to Dunkin Donuts for coffee and headed over to Target to see what it was like. About 10 people were in-line so I decided to give it a shot. No one received a ticket and no employees came out to talk to them.

At about 0755, they gave us tickets. At that time, there were about 20 people in-line. By the time I got the chance to pay, there were 40-50 people behind me. Those things weren't lasting much longer. I didn't see how many they had but it wasn't that many.

In-line I noticed a older woman with her presumed daughter. They each bought one with the same card - made me think they were scalping. And the guy who was at the front of the line exclaimed that he was so excited to sell his for $400. He got booed, lol.

So, yeah, I am glad I got one. I think this was my last 'waiting in-line for a product' of my life. I didn't really trust Reggie about the stock, so I figured why not?

This. Reggie full of it, confirmed. Scalpers being allowed to buy more than 1 is the entire reason this hysteria is still going. No way 100 different people walk into one target in a given morning looking for an super Nintendo

They could've shipped 500 to each store and the scalpers would still make sure they are gone by mid day. Until the PATTERN is changed and people are stuck sitting on things they can't sell, every release is going to continue to be like this.

Kind of reaching on the Reggie blame there. That's on the store if they sell more than one to the same person. At worse, people who wanted to buy more than one, just got back at the end of the line.

As far as the 100 people go, depends on where you live. In LA or NYC of course 100 people are going to walk in looking for Super Nintendos. This isn't a niche item.

They promised more and they clearly delivered more. I can understand being frustrated if you didn't get yours today, but you KNOW they'll be shipping more into 2018.

It's blowing my mind seeing the game play my save points in demo form. I left the SNES Classic in idle to go make some lunch and when I got back I saw it was playing on its own where I left off at in Super Castlevania IV. Sooo cool. I think someone mentioned this done pages back but I forgot about it and it was cool to see in person. Also forgot I can rewind games lol.

My Target pre-order is close to home now. It'll probably arrive either tomorrow or Monday for me. Pretty fast, considering FedEX expected it to arrive Thursday.

Walmart should be ashamed of themselves. After they had that debacle where all orders were cancelled they damn sure better send every possible preorder they currently have in their system.

I had no problem with the way Amazon handled the NES classic treasure truck but doing this before even letting preorderers know if their order will ever ship is every bit as disreputable as Gamestop & ThinkGeek bundles.

Yeah it's bad enough that it looks like most of us are boned, but they also auto-cancel if they can't fulfill the order within a week? That's fucking dumb, especially for this kind of product.

if any gaffer finds and extra and gets one....I'll paypal you the money and a little extra for effort.....I really don't have time to wait in line for the next batch lol

walmart canceling pre-orders
amazon holding stock for trucks

this shit is stupid

How is Nintendo at fault for a store's policy to sell more than one per customer? Some of you guys are being irrational about this.

Yeah hoping some in the games journalism world picks that up. That and the amazon foolishness. They both deserve to be shamed and put on record.

So I called a Gamestop near me and I asked when they would restock....they said maybe by Xmas? Something is messed up there I would hope.

Yeah I was just wondering if there was going to be like a GAF waitlist for people who have extras to sell at or slightly above cost.

GameStop employees don't know when new stock will arrive unless they see it in their system. Asking them that type of question is meaningless.

3 guys behind me were buying their 3rd console each and on their way to get a 4th.

1 online, 1 at walmart at 6am, 1 at target at 8am, and then 1 at toys r us at 10am.

And yes there were over 100 people in line at my target. Possibly close to 150

I would not be against a waitlist for those who find any. Think I did this before a couple years ago on certain collectors for games. Didn't end bad and everyone was happy. I do this with amiibos here as well....sadly I can never find what they want lol

god damn so many scalpers!!!!

Yup, when I went to trade in my PS4 and XB1 recently during their awesome promo (I already have a PS4 Pro and a PC), they told someone that the last of us 2 should probably be out by March.

They were helping me out so I just kept my mouth shut. This was like two days after the lost legacy dropped lmao.

Just got back from gamestop with mine. They had a huge line when I got there and the employee came out to tell everyone they were out unless you preordered. People were mad and started calling around only to find other stores sold out as well. One guy got pissed cause they claimed to have 20 in stock and he said they only sold 16 of those 20. Thirst is real for this, but I'll be home enjoying mine this evening.

Got mine this morning. Was the first one in line at Target at 5 in the morning. Few more people showed by the time 7:30 rolled around we had about 8 people in line. Guy comes out and tells us they have 40 units, they are one per customer, and gives us a ticket we can use to go to customer service and pick it up there. So I didn’t need to wait in line for 3 hours after all. They did it right though, no scalping going on here. I’m happy with the whole thing, online preordering was such a shit show I’m glad I didn’t bother.

Got mine from Game via dpd delivery and loving it, had seen a load of YouTube videos of the device but actually holding it in person, it's smaller than I realised.

I have mine in my room, so it's not an issue to keep hitting the restart button to get back to the menu and it's near instantaneous to load

Wouldn't shock me. Already had a co-worker tell me got one from Gamestop today because he has a friend who works there and that friend held it for them after everyone else stopped by to buy up stock in the morning.

Another co-worker knows someone who works at a Walmart who is selling Pennywise Funko Pop that's Walmart exclusive. They have not yet released, meanwhile this person has a case of them that he got from work.

Shady stuff happens.

Come on people. They work at Walmart. They deserve to be able to buy an snes mini.

Yesterday afternoon i spoke work the manager of my nearby Gamestop. He was cool, said he had quite a few that weren't preordered and to swing by in the morning before they opened to nab one. Ordinarily i wouldn't care for gamestop but i have over $80 credit after the last big trade in.

I drove by the store this morning, around 950am, and there were at least a dozen in line. Ugh. I have an interview ast 1130 so i canned it... for now. Besides, i want the UK version anyway and i have a $50 Amazon gift card. Might hold off for that.

So I had two Targets tell me the they are restocking Sunday. Should I roll the dice and go to the Target near my house at open to see? That Target told me they have no idea when they will restock. So I am not sure how some stores know, and some do not.

Bestbuy seems to have handled it the best. For me, I got a preorder with instore pick up. Yesterday they called me just to confirm that it is ready for tomorrow and if I would like I can come and pick it up at 9 AM. Bestbuy is the truth folks.

Some stores hold stock for weekend traffic.

I'd go with the sure bet if it's not too much of a hassle. I'd also call the other target tomorow incase there's new info on the restock. Or stop at the one near you first then head to he other.

Went to Target and Gamestop this morning. Target was sold out and gamestop had a line of about 20 people already.

I guess I have to believe in Wal-Mart? -_- I hate that company though

I wonder how it went for those in the old thread that cancelled their preorder because Reggie said there would be so much stock that they could just walk in and buy one easy.

I think very few people actually did that.

Stores did get a lot more stock than they did the NES. Not really Nintendo's fault if a store allows one person to buy 100 SNES or they sell to employees over customers.

It was my first time buying with them and I had no problems. Preordered it when it was announced, charged as normal. They even delivered it early (yesterday). I'll be keeping them in mind for future purchases.

I'm very happy to hear I seem to be in the minority here, I'm not exactly sure what happened, but they just declined my card and when asked about it simply said "Your order has been cancelled because we declined the card". I'm going to persist until the allow me to reorder at the original price I was to pay, but at least this is a fringe case.
