I was fine with it in Halo 5, but each successive MS game has pushed it further and further with no end in sight.Microsoft's first party in-game purchases have been incredibly dodgy this generation :/

I would rather buy a $70 game than a $60 one filled with micro transactions that might affect game design and cater to the gambling side of some people. But I'm probably in the minority.
How it that a solution to anything when every year it gets worse and worse?
Honestly, I think if game publishers/developers want to introduce this type of shit into their games then it should mean that the game is automatically rated 18+ (or whatever the legal age for gambling is in each country). Take the hard line and they will soon start thinking twice about it.
It needs to start being classified as gambling.
Reminds me of this

In a $60 game.
Hahaha of course not. Please buy the car pass, and potential expansions.
aaaaand were done here. anyone for schwarma?
Do people actually play Forza? In any case, I guess that's what happens when you dilute a franchise into oblivion. I mean, this is the 7th (or 10th if you factor Horizon titles) installment in just a little over 10 years, and since it appears they can't make the game itself more engaging or interesting, I guess they just decided to add microtransactions and call it a day.
So they replace what was a simple and accessible assist system with a crystal clear risk/reward structure, in order to push players into making interacting with modpacks a regular part of their play sessions.
All of these games warping their own systems to get players to make regular visits to their in-game stores is fucking gross. I don't want to visit your storefront or get mired in your RNG unlocks and crate openings or stop to wonder which events will net me the best virtual currency - I just want to play the damn game.
I remember playing Forza horizon and being able to increase difficulty to increase credit earned. They are saying it's locked behind pay wall loot crates now and that's some shit!
You're right that they aren't new, but it makes sense that this is why they were added to the last game to begin with. As MTX potential, even if that potential wasn't exploited in that game.Mods were in Forza 6 as well....doing the same thing to get you more credits for changes to the car, etc, so I'm not sure why they say it is new?
Most reviews probably won't even mention this exists.

Making the changes they have in Forza 7 has really angered me in a way I haven't been in a long time. I feel like I've been misled as a consumer and the loot boxes are just another thing to be pissed about. Over emphasis on the new weather system and saying they have day/night on tracks then only have it on half the tracks is another negative.
And it sucks because the overall game seems to have undergone some great improvements. They finally took the time to update some of the tracks and make them more realistic after years of not updating certain tracks.

I actually don't remember if identical mods stacked in Forza 6 or if the mod gave you a bigger credit bonus than simply disabling the assist itself.
But most of the mods I've gotten in Forza 7 seem to be of the flat % increase variety. Cockpit view and disabling driving lines seem to be a lot rarer.

I'd be fine with that, but that's not whats going to happen. They'd just end up charging $80 while keeping all of these systems intact. Its time, we need to stop complaining about game prices, suck it up and accept $80 games.
Its time, we need to stop complaining about game prices, suck it up and accept $80 games. This industry can't control itself when it comes to microtransactions or ballooning budgets, I'd rather pay more per game then deal with MTs wrecking game design in every AAA game that we are trending towards.

There is no ceiling on recurring microtransactions and macrotransactions, and no price increase can compete with that potential.

Post the picture, people.
Don't worry, maybe he'll get it when he goes to the kebab shop and he needs to open 15 loot boxes at £1 each before he gets his fabled shawarma.
"don't go to the kebab shop then bruv".

i don't deny that. i'm arguing that it'll be worse later.
If the preview from windows central is correct , right now there is no incentive to buy with money , but you canbe sure that once it happens, that fact will no longer be true and the experience for the end user will be worse.
Oh yeah it's messed up , but unfortunately forza 7 hasn't reached it's final form yet
That is absolutely ridiculous. Feels like something MS kinda pushed onto them to be honest. I cant see how they would think this is a good decision.
Going full mobile. I recall one of those shitty games asking for fuel.
Can't wait for loot boxes to have loot boxes!
Sadly most of gaming will be okay with this. Gotta love that corporate worship.

They've been fiddling with this stuff for years. They had tokens in Horizon 1, and Forza 5 launched with MT stuff too.
Some of the grinding and MT shit in the Asphalt mobile games are crazy, but the game is free at least. Buying a single special car can cost like $40 real money.

I'm confused about this too.
