Weird

So I did the whole FTP to get the original games off the machine and then re-upload them after resizing all the thumbnails 50% of their original size.

Everything was working ok except that the big image for Kerby Superstar and Yoshi's Island got corrupted (I assume during the FTP transfer).

Since I had already re-synced the machine I had lost the originals. Not a big deal since I just googled the two covers and got them working but still weird.

So I already had the 8 bit do sn30 controller and the retro receiver from the nes classic last year. I updated the firmware on 8 bit do's website and now the controller works great with the snes classic. So nice not having the wire and being able to reset without getting up. I highly recommend it to anyone who is skeptical of the 8 bit do controller. It feels just like the real thing

If I want to change from the hack Robin64 posted to the official hackchi, how do i do that? Or is there any reason to even do this? Every game i have added today has been flawless so not sure i need to ever switch

Added a few games like Chrono Trigger and Shadowrun. But all the new games are missing the cart save Icon, so how do I add that?

One thing even the latest release of hakchi is not doing is flagging if a game has a battery save or not. Everything you put through hakchi gets this in its config file.

Code:
SaveCount=0

Which means even if a game has a battery save function, you won't get an icon for it on the SNES Mini. To fix this, go into the /snes_games/ folder before you sync, and manually edit the .desktop file. Change it to a 1 to get the battery save icon to appear.

Hope that helps

Yeah ok I'm not sure about the in game reset?

In the app it's set to L+R+Select+Start

I'm trying it in Chrono Trigger right now and sometimes it only resets the game or sometimes it goes back to the main menu but the save state is just a dark screen with 1sec of gameplay

Wonderful news about the hack. I have two questions:

- Not sure if this is a team effort or the job of one or two people in particular but is there a way of donating some money to the people who've done this? You deserve way more than praise on an Internet forum IMO :)

- I always feared this but... to turn my SNES Mini into the ultimate Super Nintendo emulation machine I find myself adding around 72 games to the initial 21 :/ (This is a testament to how amazing the SNES catalogue is). Am I dreaming with those numbers? I've already culled the list from an initial 86 games... I don't want to delete any more :(

I have 63 games installed right now and almost 50% left. So it's possible.

Under controller hacks, do you have the first 2 options activated? That could be the problem, if not activate the second one and change the game reset something else.

I've got 60 games on mine at the moment. It seems fine although they split to 2 pages. Space wise it's only about half full, so unless there is a hard menu limit of some kind it should be doable.

That's amazing if true, honestly, would make me very happy. Wouldn't savestates get in the way? Not that I would, but say if I created a savestate for each of those games. I know there was conversation around that a few pages ago but I guess it's too early for people to have tested that?

Is there a good resource for high quality Japanese box art?

Having trouble finding decent scans for certain games. Case in point:

I don't know, but the state of high quality Super Famicom box art on the web is a little dire, yeah.

This is gonna take me a while, but I've been working on creating western SNES style box art for the big games with fan translations. 3 down, a whole lot more to go. Mostly for myself, but I'll share that stuff for the people who are interested when I'm done. Of course a lot of that work has been done already, like in the image you posted, but it seems like that's mostly done for physical repros by people who don't want to share their work with the world. Bummer.

It can get tricky without good source images like HQ Japanese box art though. :s

I know you normally have 300mb on the system, but it only shows me 250mb. I saw someone else where the program only showed 220mb, so maybe it holds space back automatically for savestates? But I really don't know how it handles it. I think it really is too early and I don't want to fill it now with 150 ROMs just to test it. ^^°

All right!

Installed the following games:

Adventure of Batman & Robin
Chrono Trigger
Donkey Kong Country 2
Donkey Kong Country 3
Ignition Factor
Ken Griffey Jr. Presents Major League Baseball
Killer Instinct
Mortal Kombat 2
NBA Jam Tournament Edition
Pilotwings
Sim City
Sunset Riders
Super Mario All-Stars
Super Tennis
Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3

All of them work just fine which is great.

The only problem I've encountered so far is that I can't use the save state with Chrono Trigger... When I hold L+R+Select+Start I get back to the menu but the save state is a black screen and when I load it it at the start of the game (with the pendulum).

I wonder... Is L+R+Select+Start a shortcut in the original version of Chrono Trigger and that causes a conflict with the emulator?

Yoshi's Island is a lot faster than I remember it being. Yoshi moves so quick.

Star Fox plays a lot worse than I remember it as well

I forgot to thank Robin64 which is inexcusable; thanks a ton, man.

I've been making some icons for my folders, which are Action, Shooting, Co-op, Versus, RPG in Spanish and RPG in English (I also changed the Back folder icon to match). I found that white icons on transparent background works well agaisnt the dark background of the Mini SNES gui. Just in case anyone wants them:

Some games used that as a soft reset. So maybe its resetting right before going to the menu. Try changing your button combo for reset.

That was reset on a lot of SNES games.

It's system-wide on the SNES classic as far as I know. You shouldn't be trying to use that for anything.

Makes sense, I'll change it to L+R+Select instead.

He should change it in the tool since this is the default option right now.

Is it normal everytime I have to redo something on the SNES Classic, I lose space? When I first put stuff on it, I had 236 memory, now I have 227 mb.

For whoever was asking if there's a way to remove the thumbnails at the bottom....

I haven't tried it myself but if you go in the "Modules" menu you can install a module that does just that.

I tried Rock 'N Roll Racing but some of the menus are glitched or don't even appear. I managed to get to a race which played perfectly, but some of the menus are screwed.

Every other game I tried worked fine.

I added 71 games for 92 games in total, all with their box art, and it comes out to ~167/250MB. So there's room for plenty more.

This looks amazing. If it would look like that on the classic I would use that more often, even if I prefer the razor sharp native look.

But this shows me even more what a blurry ugly mess the actual filter on it really is.

Yep. That's what I said the other day. Sucks that there isn't a scanline mode without the fucking garbage blur filter.

Save states eat a bunch. I have 50+mb in savestates and I only have them for a few games. Check the log window, Hakchi itself tells you what is allocated on what.
