If he handled this better and let people talk about it, OT wouldn't be a ghost town. But he went draconian, and these are the results.

In business terms, you don't shoot at the hip, but you do act fast. He gave other forums the opportunity, and left his customers hanging.

It's all internal, it's not an external problem other than being accused in the first place.

I don’t condone calling someone a rapist with no reason, but you were pretty callous in regards to suggesting that a woman showering with the door ajar is asking for sex. Think before you post.

Yes, it was uncalled for of him to say that. Saying what you said doesn't make you a rapist.

But it does make you part of the problem. You're part of the reason "rape culture" exists. Because you think what you said is fucking okay.

I didn't say she was asking for sex, I was implying that an open shower door can easily confuse a drunk man.

Interesting how basically the only thread about this incident in GAF not deleted or locked is the one defending Evilore’s actions and defending sexual misconduct due to being drunk. 🤔

Absolutely, but in cases like this I wish we could just look at people who have differing opinions and present them in logical and respectful ways (and said ways do not include "dude is a rapist" or "she was asking for the sex") as being, you know, people like us and not complete idiots. In the "court of public opinion" there's always a strict moral judgment directed at the crowd itself and that just sucks.
 
In the court of public opinion, EL's case was destroyed the moment he "defended" himself by calling the woman crazy. If this was actual court, his lawyer would've advised him to not say those things.
 
EviLore and his moderation staff were perfectly fine with unfounded, aggressively propagated accusations of sexism, racism, and bigotry whenever a person deviated from the standard fare of sarcastic disillusionment and competitive outrage that became part of the "woke" identity that people wanted to project in this forum. It's fitting that the weaponized outrage that was nurtured and encouraged in this community by selective moderation was ultimately what led to its destruction.

Hope it was fun while it lasted.

I'm just going to clarify again because I don't want to be misunderstood. I do believe her. I have no reason not to.

I'm not defending him. However, I think waiting/asking for proof or evidence is not unreasonable. That applies to any serious case/accusation like this. Even if it is hard to prove (which I understand it is in cases like this), we can't just attack people without evidence. People like to use history as an excuse but an accusation like this needs to be treated as an isolated incident. For example, if a man sexually harassed a woman three years ago, that doesn't immediately make him a rapist now just because someone pointed the finger at him. I'm not saying this is the case here but I think my point is clear.
