Xbox Live Account Ban

So my account got banned because of marketplace theft.
I was confused as fuck when I saw this, so I googled and found a reddit thread with someone who did get the same ban because of a g2a key. Great I bought xbox live gold a week ago over g2a so I guess thats the reason for me too.
I tried to do a review case but I had to do a questionaire (I failed it two times because I got some questions wrong so I have to wait 24 hours). One question I didnt really understand and took the wrong answer. The other question was if something is wrong with the purple in an avatar and I thought no why should it (wtf ?).
Basically It seems like I got my account with hundreds of € invested banned (forever) because some shithead sells stolen codes, if I had known that this is a thing I would have never touched g2a.
Since I have to play the waiting game for another try with the questionaire I post this here for some advice how to proceed
 
Crappy situation, man.

I have no previous experience with this but it sounds like you just need to keep trying. I'm sure that if it doesn't work eventually the BBB or equivalent in your country could help you.
 
call the support. You may loose your gold subscription but if you tell them and show them how you bought the code the will enable your account again.
the thing is, this can always happen because all those code sellers sell those codes via private sellers in background.
and btw try to contact g2a maybe you can get your money back.
 
I would see if you can talk to someone on the phone. Just be honest about it and see if they can help you out. But make sure you actually talk to someone.

However, I'm also going to flick your nose OP. G2A is a very shady place/company and this has been publicly documented and known for some time.
 
Damn, that sucks.
I've been told G2A is shady and I've stayed away. Guess people were right.


Try calling MS and explaining the situation. Sounds like something that can be fixed

Never buy from G2A. That goes for everyone. If you want cheap keys go and buy from CDKeys that has worked perfectly for me when buying Steam games.
Still try to contact support, try by phone. Best thing will probably be unban and lose the gold you paid for, worst is what it is now so why not try.
 
They even look shady af. Live and learn i guess. and next time buy codes from more reputable sites like newegg or amazon or cdkeys

Yeah G2A is notorious for shit like this. The lesson here is only buy from reputable sources.

MS usually has pretty good customer service. However I bet even they'd have the mentality of "Um. Why did you buy from this shady second hand site?"

No the reddit post is what I found after I googled marketplace theft. So my only hope is that they revoke the ban like they did for the reddit poster.
The worst thing is that this is more or less a coincidence. I needed gold and my deals site had this offer from g2a promoted, so I went there.
I totally understand that my account got locked if this code was illegal, I just hope they revert it after I showed them that I bought it through g2a.
I just fear that they wont do it and that my money and gaming history is gone.

Also I cant call someone because support cant do anything about stuff like this, it only goes over the enforcement team and those you cant call :/

Just saying.

Your best bet IMO is t start a live chat on the Xbox website, in my experience they are very very well trained and generally seem to to REALLY want to help, I cant rate MS's CS highly enough to be honest.

I have no reddit post. Sadly live chat cant do anything, only the enforcement team..

Ok. I misunderstood, then. Don't quite get why phone tech support is a no go. I take it you tried and they said no?

No it says so specifically on the enforcement page, it even says that you can get banned for trying this because its not the purpose of the support.
Wow it really feels bad not knowing what will happen, I wont buy on a keysite anything ever again. shit

So a little update from my side, I just completed successfully the questionaire and submitted my case.
 
I bet if you called them before making this thread you could have had it sorted. MS support is usually excellent.

Did you buy from a highly rated seller or the cheapest option with no reviews? Usually you can see if people had issues with a seller(keys not working/revoked etc).

This is an absolute bullshit and lie. You can't "steal" game code and even less Xbox Live subscriptions, if they're on G2A, it means they were already paid for.

Also whatever the case, if you live in Europe, be assured that Microsoft has absolutely no right or stand to do that, because they are the one stealing from you if you have games and funds on this account.

If you are in the US, well you have no rights, so you're screwed.

As already said, the support cant do anything, its only the enforcement team that is responsible. The seller had 4 or 5 stars I think. I only bought there because it was promoted in my deals app at the moment I needed new gold, usually I buy from mmoga or amazon my gold subscription.

You definitely can? Buy the codes from a store, charge the purchase back. Get free games (and a free account ban).

Years ago people were banned for using PC apps to edit their avatars skin and hair into colours that wasn't normally possible.
 
Update from my side, enforcement just answered me (they work at sunday ?!)

As suspected the g2a code is the source of my ban. They want me to provide proof of my purchase, so I hope after that they will lift the ban.
I will definitly make an account at the deal site g2a was advertised to warn others about this

Edit: The seller I bought from had 32174 Transactions with a 98 procent rating

Update

My ban is lifted, thank god ! But if something like this happens again they wont lift the ban since its forbidden to buy codes from an not authorized seller.
Is there a list of authorized sellers ?
Also my gold subscription isn't revoked, am I allowed to keep it ? seems a bit strange
