Both, as both companies will most likely have interesting games libraries.

The big question mark however is the PC - with consoles hitting 4K60, with all the HDMI 2.1 features, all their comfort and ease of use, 4K HRD TVs being dirty cheao nowadays, and the point&click genres being dead, there will most likely be little to none reason to own a PC, especially with prices hitting $1000+ per single part.
 
Ps5 at the moment. The studios and lately game output has been far better. I'm more interested in god of war, Spider-Man, last of us, and other games from Sony studios than halo and forza. Just me though.
 
Unless Sony surprises me fundamentally, the Xbox SX controller will be leagues better than the PS5 controller. Since I don't care about most Sony exclusives, I will likely prefer Xbox SX. Unless Microsoft makes Banjo-Threeie, it will take quite a while until I buy either though.

If here means on Earth, then you are right.

Xbox have not ever been any serious competitor vs PlayStation outside of US/UK. It is just "that console from Windows makers"

Sonys worst console sold More that MS best (ps3 vs 360) so is it really a surprise that there are more sony fans around anywhere but some xbox support group for life without exclusives?
 
It'll be neither from me initially as I really don't like the way either company is heading right now. Very content with muh Switch for the time being.

Probably Xbox for me as I like the idea of my library coming along with me. I had both an Xbox and Playstation this gen and tbh the PS4 barely got any use.
 
PS5 Day 1 for me. Xbox is going to depend on what they announce first-party wise between now and launch. I want to play Hellblade II but it isn't even coming next year as Phil said it was still very early in development. I honestly don't care much about Halo.
 
I wouldn't even consider the xbox due to a long standing dislike of Microsoft.

-MS office being $500 when I was in college
-Xbox thompson drive not working
-xbox 360 dying 3 times
-xbox one forcing kinect on ppl
-no exclusives I care about
-windows vista
-windows 8
-No presence in japan
-Building my own PC and fighting with windows
-Listening to my current PC building friends deal with windows 10 auto-updates
-etc

If I had a ps5 + Xbox I probably wouldn't bother taking the xbox out of the box.
 
I was the biggest MS fan till 2011. Didn't even get ps2 . I got Xbox then Xbox 360 and was loving it till 2011 I noticed many of the games I love to play are on ps3 and Ms was going hard with Kinect which I had no interest in . Sold my x360 and got ps3. Since then Sony has done Ana amazing job to hook me to their franchises . Even though I always have a soft spot for gears I m not buying xsx as MS hasn't proven they can deliver types of games I like . However Sony has convinced me they can deliver so I will pre order ps5 as soon as it opens . It's about trust I guess.

beside the first party Sony gets all the Japanese games which I kinda like some of them and they keep skipping Xbox
 
XSX, will be the more powerful machine, better multiplats, Xbox Live(better multiplayer experience), Gamepass, Controller, Xcloud. Excited for new Xbox studios over boring Last of Us type games

Sony's games aren't for me, and I've tried about all the big ones, hated Last of Us. Just like in movies, can't trust other peoples opinions to match my own

I see your join date was a few weeks ago, so I assume it's your member status. "Neo members" can't vote in polls.

Here are results so far:

PS5: 65.7%
XSX: 16.5%
Both: 17.8%

That's with 391 votes, so it probably won't change much from that.

I'll probably stick with Sony on this one. Most of my games and friends are there.
That said, partner has expressed interest in getting a XSX just for Senua.
So this might be one of those generations where I have both leading systems.
 
I have a gaming PC and PS4 Pro, so PS5 is a no brainer for me. I see no reason to ever own a Xbox console. If I want to play an XGS games, I can always do it via gamepass or steam (if they sell it there as well).

Neither. I don't trust either company to deliver enough games to make it worthwhile buying their systems. MS has a bad track record, and Sony's focus is shifting to something I'm not that into. Any money I would've invested in one of these systems is better spent buying a more powerful PC, on which more and more (previously exclusive) games release anyway. On top of that, I'm pretty invested in my Switch, so I have plenty to play already.

I guess the trust built up from so many generations of great libraries is paying off.

It's the trust Sony has that phil Spencer and his team do too many 180s to please people and fail
 
PS5 for me. Always been a Playstation guy. Sega before that and Atari before that.

If one has the means, a PS5 and a gaming PC. Most XBox exclusives will be on it as well.

I wouldn't really say Xbox has the early mindshare. Apart from the reveal a week ago, most of the discussion has been about PS5 for the past few months, because of the leaks. There was silence about the next Xbox. We've gotten a fair amount of info about PS5 via leaks, probably as much as we got in the XSX reveal.

It's not really about reveals anyhow. I think most people suspect that the console hardware will be fairly close next gen. My sense is that people are making choices based mostly on the two companies' track records so far.

Part of the result is you can still imagine whatever you want.
But it's not like we know much more on XSX.
So the poll is mainly based of who do you think can manage next gen better?
Who do you trust the most?
 
PS5 is definately going to be a launch purchase. I'll wait until they have come with a smaller version of the Series X and it will probably be a bit cheaper by that time.
 
And although the XSX looks like a distant second when you just look at the top two bars, a full third of the people voting (34%) plan to get one. Not so bad for "SonyGAF."

Last gen I went with PS4 because Xbox One didn't interest me at launch.

Next gen I'll likely get some form of Xbox. Already have a high end PC so maybe not at launch, though I always say that and end up buying some console at launch.

Deciding factor for me is Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and BC (my Xbox collection is vastly larger than my PlayStation collection).

Most Sony exclusives don't interest me enough to play them. I have a PS4 and most of the exclusives I was interested in were third party, and most of those showed up on PC after 6-8 months...

Im probably not going to get any of them, but I can't see the poll results. I know what it is, of course, but I would like to see exactly how much more Sony has.
 
absolutely PS5 most and best games I played was a PS exclusive UC4 , GOW , HZD , SM , TLOU and Bloodborne + I just love the PS controller :)

XSX ! .. No one denying its power but no thanks I need solid games not solid console

68 for XSX

Xbox day one. PlayStation more than likely day one, eventually for sure. I like exclusives from both enough to justify two consoles.
 
It's not like I really have a choice. I'm heavily invested in the PlayStation ecosystem now so I'm gonna stick with it unless they fuck up big time like MS did before this gen started, but i doubt that'll happen. I don't see myself paying for more than one online service either so I doubt I'll ever get an XBOX. I say this as a huge 360 fan and XBL Gold subscriber during the 360 days. Halo and Gears have gone to shit since the original devs left those franchises and MS hasn't really had any other strong AAA franchises or new IPs. I miss the Forza series for sure( which I much prefer to Gran Turismo), but I'm not a racing game fanatic either so I can live without it. Meanwhile Sony has been killing it with the first party exclusives this gen. i mean the gen is almost over and there's still TLoU2 and Ghost of Tsushima to come. They spaced out all their exclusives perfectly this gen too.
