Sony is not perfect that's true. I don't love the idea that in this next generation I'll need to repurchase controllers and other accessories which ends up meaning less money spent on games but what they absolutely nail is the quality of those games with new and interesting worlds to explore. Microsoft struck gold with Halo, Gears and Forza yes but that was years ago. Now they just keep adding a number to the end of those titles and hope loyal xbox gamers don't notice how stale they've become.
Guerrilla games had the Killzone franchise which became Horizon Zero Dawn.
Naughty Dog had a hugely successful franchise with The Uncharted series which they could have kept pumping out cash grab versions for years to come and made a profit but they knew it was time for a change so we got The Last Of Us.
Insomniac games had the Resistance franchise then Ratchet and Clank and now fucking Spiderman. They even threw an xbox exclusive in there with Sunset Overdrive to help out.
Sucker Punch had the Infamous fanchise and now I can not wait for Ghost of Tsushima.
I know this won't change your mind on the new xbox and your blind hatred for sony but at the end of the day it's the games that matter not teraflops or subscription services and as far as I can see it looks like Sony is about to do what they've always done, make the best games for gamers to enjoy. Enjoy your Series X.
P.S. I was a Nintendo fanboy since NES and have owned every one of their systems and even I knew it was time to jump ship to Sony. No time like the present it's not too late for you either.

It looks higher if you just consider the top two bars. Then it looks like it's over a 4 to 1 ratio in favor of Sony (323 or 65.1% PS5 vs. 78 or 15.7% XSX).
But if you include the "both" votes, it looks a lot more balanced. It then comes down to a ratio of 2.4 in favor of Sony (that's 418 or 84.2% getting a PS5 vs. 173 or 34.8% getting an XSX). I think that it's important to consider the "both" votes.
2.4 isn't all that different than what the global preference ratio is. At last check, that was greater than 2.0 to 1. So assuming GAF has a globally representative membership (I have no idea), then a 2.4 preference ratio is pretty close to what you'd expect. Maybe there's a little tilt or bias as well, but it's relatively minor, and it can be explained in other ways (e.g., PS4 Pro owners are hungrier for an upgrade than Xbox One X owners).
The caveat is that if for some reason GAF's membership is not globally representative but instead is overwhelmingly and almost entirely from the US and UK, then that would suggest a strong tilt/bias toward Sony among GAF members. The ratio in US/UK isn't nearly 2 to 1; Xbox trails but not by all that much, maybe 10% (? not sure exactly).

PS5 only, not interested in any Xbox exclusive, plus don't have time for a second console, one is enough for me. Can't wait to play TLoU part2, GoW2, SM2 and Horizon 2 on it.

It's interesting to see how the Switch is a side product that shares target demographic with home consoles (and PC) and not a direct competitor (very few people saying they will just get/keep playing on the switch).
If Sony and Nintendo let go of the snes CD incident and made a real partnership, they could very easily make Xbox insignificant (which wouldn't be a good thing, without competition Sony output would very likely suffer in quality).

Hey I'm Xbox only but getting riled and calling people fanboys because they prefer a different console is nothing but console warring. The numbers don't lie. PS4 has outsold XB1 a little over 2 to 1 this gen. The numbers on this poll when 'buying both' is taken into consideration line up almost exactly with that. Reality is NOT being a fanboy.

The blind Sony fanboys at GAF are super annoying but for me the blind Xbox fanboys are even worse because they reflect badly on my beloved Xbox

How do you know PS4 owners will switch for Xcloud after having played UC4, Spider-man, God of War, Death Stranding, Days Gone, HZD, etc this generationwell, if sony is more powerful they would shout it loud from every corner, and as you can see, xbox one x is much more powerful than the PS4 PRO - this is a fact. and AGAIN MS changed the whole team, everything, why do you think it will be the same as xbox one launch? it will not. the series X will be much more powerful - that's why they are going with a brand new console design.
and also, nextgen will be completely different! its not like current/lastgen! we have xcloud, we have compability from last to nextgen, we can even use the same controller etc.. and is what sony fails to see! If I would get xbox vol 2. For free, I would test it for curiosity and probably sell it. But I could keep it and play few games maybe, mostly because xbox games sell here so badly that they get much cheaper faster.
I got ps4 on launch, got dissapointed because lack of games on first year, it were loud and had to exchange it to better unit. Ps+ games were shit.
And even taking that into mind ps5 is 100x more interesting than xbox vol 2. And now I have all the ps4 games that I havent finished yet:
Getting ps5 with zero games on first year is still a win because of those ps4 games waiting to be played

Well, to be fair, I didn't include that as a poll option. But you're right. Switch is almost always used in combination with other consoles. For instance, a poll from last year showed that only 2% of gamers here play on only the Switch.

Well we can mostly all agree that the playstation exclusive games are far superior than what we have currently for xbox but with a new leader, xbox may start getting better exclusives, but until we all know more about what exclusives are coming than its probably to early to make a decision, because if xbox keeps it up with the exclusives (sure they may have Halo and Gears of War) I would definitely want to get the PS5

Wow, all those votes for PS5 solo (334) vs (84) Seriex X Solo...Then when you consider that 101 plan to buy both, that's 435 PS5 units vs 185 Series X consoles......Even in the (buy them both) category, I suspect many will go with PS5 for the exclusives and the better power first, and they may not even buy series X in November, maybe at a later date if something good and unique shows up, but then that will be on PC too...…..It's a hard sell that series X tbh......

Xbox Series X, will have most powerful console I believe for best multiplats, Halo, Hellblade 2, best racing games by far, more variety as it has games like SOT, SOD2, Halo, crossbuy, more for gamer with Xbox gamepass. Now Xbox got the show, essentially a huge reason I have every bought into Sony eco. Will be hard pressed for me to buy into Sony. Maybe if they pull a rabbit out of hat and are more powerful. Ultimately, it always comes down to the exclusives. Otherwise, I'm picking whatever game it is on PC. I always end up purchasing all the systems of a given generation eventually, but I won't be hurrying to pick up anything besides the PS5 this go around. And if Sony started putting all their stuff on PC, I wouldn't even bother with the PS5.

At this point it's for sure PS5. Microsoft still needs to prove that it's more than a Halo and Forza machine. They always talk such a big game about their lineup but then it fizzles and there's just nothing else there.

It may very well release on XB1/XBONEX and Xcloud, still, it's not a brand new franchise or IP.....So not a brand new game we've never seen before.....
Don't know why anyone is surprised though......PS4 leads XBOX almost 3:1......PS4 leads XBOX in multiplatform sales in some cases at 90:10......The truth is, you may hear some loud noise on certain forums about gamepass, xcloud, Phil as reasons why XBOX is great but in reality it's just a vocal few shouting their lungs off, the buying world, the majority of the people with disposable cash are not interested at all........None of these guys care about Phil, gamepass or xcloud......They care less about promises of greatness and more about actual greatness they can play....

I've already started a PS5 budget. I'm not trying to sound like I'm cocky or I'm putting a different console down. I'll be putting money into my "PS5 fund" every month from now on. I still remember seeing all the game(s) for PS1 and getting my first Guncon.
Xbox is fun. Halo, DOA, Fusion Frenzy, etc. It just never hit that bar with me. I really wish Xbox had more support from Japan or had more exclusives.

both consoles. thankfully i can afford to buy both on day 1 just like last gen. sony had a shitty launch lineup last gen. i thought cod ghosts and bf4 were last gen as fuck. kz impressed visually and bored me to death at the same time.
ryse was awful, a truly awful experience but my god those visuals were incredible. i played it through the end despite hating every single kill in the game because it asked me to color match the qtes on every kill. the story ended up being decent towards the end and i thought ok this game sucks but at least i now know what next gen games can look like. forza 4 was ok. but my experience of this gen wouldve been a whole lot worse if i only had kz to play at launch.
ms should be bringing the big guns next gen. hopefully nothing as bad as ryse, but halo infinite looks like it has potential. if sony only launches with horizon 2, im gonna need something else to play at launch. dont think im picking up forza horizon 8 though unless they completely reboot the game. its just not as fun as gt or driveclub.
i hope they both launch with two aaa exclusives but i am struggling to see what they will be. because if its just one game then we will need two consoles to tied us until the spring.
