Super Ultrawide vs Multiple Monitors

Just thought I would see what everyone's thoughts were on Super Ultrawide ( AOC 49") vs multiple monitors from a pure productivity standpoint. I own and operate a trucking business and have to have certain programs open basically 24 hours a day plus a few browser windows. I currently have a triple 27" setup but i'm seriously considering switching to free up some desk space and to get rid of the bezels. Anyone else have any experience with a 49" ultrawide.
The monitor i'm considering:

No harm in having an ultra wide monitor but that is tooo wide for my liking. I don't like things getting stretched out

I'd recommend a model that is not this wide but thats your call at the end brother

I think the 49" monitors are too wide for my liking. I went with a 34" ultrawide, the Acer X34P, and it's been great so far.

The goal is to be able to split it into multiple sections like this pic kind of like having multiple monitors but without the bezels I just don't know if it would work as well as I have it in my head.

It'll work perfectly just like how you're imagining it. You don't plan on gaming on it right?

For productivity they are amazing. If you do any kind of programming, video/image editing then you'll end up being much more efficient.

For gaming not so great unless you are massively into flight/racing sims.

Things don't get stretched out if the game has arbitrary resolution support and you set up the FOV correctly for the distance you are sat from the monitor. You do lose out on a lot of the vertical view though, if you're not sat close enough it can be like looking through a letterbox.

Yeah thats why I dislike them for gaming. Don't find them ideal at all. Would rather put 2-3 monitor next to each other than having an ultra wide 90 years old pussy

I really want a good ultrawide monitor, but they all seem to have compromises. I'm waiting for a ~35", 3440 x 1440 resolution, 120+ hz refresh rate with FreeSync, proper HDR-supported, color-accurate monitor to come out on the market.

Do this lol

I have dual 27 inchers and for some reason the thought of them being connected as one monitor gives me the heebie jeebies

I run dual ultrawides. but it's 99% for editing usage. Edit window on the left, the rest on the right monitor. I like ultrawide for seeing as much of my timeline as possible. Keeps my scrubbing down.

I use one for gaming and I enjoy it

I do graphic design related work, and at my workplace everyone uses dual 27" monitors. I found I did not need that much screen space to do my work. People generally did their artwork on one monitor, then had an assortment of application panels on the other one. I reverted to only using one because I like to have minimal workspaces with everything accessible via key commands.

I would like one of the curved monitors that we've started getting in for some people, but other than that, I even find 27" almost too wide coming from using a 24"

I decided to go ahead and pull the trigger on it. The worst that can happen is I hate it and i get the jump on building a cockpit for elite dangerous/star citizen.

One of the programs i have to have open pretty much 24/7 is a tracking application that shows all my trucks around the US. Not having to constantly zoom and pan makes my job infinitely easier.
