Ima watch it to see what most third party games will look like next Gen on both Xbox and psv. I want to see raytracing in action 😊

Hopefully this time a week from now there aren't another dozen warriors getting banned simultaneously. I'd like to think we can keep it constructive for first MS' and then Sony's game showcases.

Hopefully.

It will be interesting to see if all those trips that Phil took to Japan land a cool new Japanese exclusive for next gen. Fingers crossed for a Panzer Dragoon Saga reboot!!

so is it confirmed no first party? That sucks if true but still hyped l. It's probably smart to start off like this and save some FP bangers for June though. Ppl will hyped for AC just because this is a new gen. I haven't played one since black flag and that's because it was a new gen lol. Excited to see how good it'll look though.

Fuck yes. A whole 1hr plus (hopefully) event, entirely 1st party, would be excellent.

Exactly, put down your weapons Pony's and Xbots. This showcase should be good for everyone.
Since lockdowns are lifting I wonder if they'll plan some kind of in-person event even if very limited. I think it would be a shame if the first party showcase was like some at home Inside Xbox direct type thing.

An at-home direct thing would make for a very underwhelming Halo Infinite reveal if you ask me.

Honestly, this whole lockdown Covid fiasco might've just pushed digital-only events ahead of schedule, so to speak, to becoming the norm. While I can appreciate getting caught up in the cheers and the hype from a live crowd seeing stuff for the first time, it's also really unnecessary and being all digital with no live audience gives more flexibility for things to be revealed on much shorter notice or as genuine surprises, and potentially limits leaks too.

I don't consider it unnecessary. People is what makes an event an event. I would hardly count a prerecorded trailer reel thrown up on the internet as an event.

Well no shit the social media numbers will be higher... PS4 has a much greater reach than XBox outside of the US. Also I would imagine XBox players are more likely to be at work while PS4 players are on Twitter praising Neil Druckman for being so brave and courageous :messenger_tears_of_joy:

If current mindsets are to be believed, come November you'll either be playing new games on your new Xbox, or you'll be giving out super fast likes on Social Media on your new PS.

I want to see your reaction to the first MLB, NBA, NFL FIFA (whatever sporting event of your choice) and say the audience doesn't help to inflate reactions and unnecessary.

Awesome news...so happy and so damn hyped!!! Best of all, less than a week away.

Aside from Assassin's Creed Valhalla which has been confirmed, im expecting Outriders, Dying Light 2, Cyberounk 2077 and if rumors are accurate about Microsoft having the marketing deal for it, Watch Dogs Legion. Anything else will be a bonus in my opinion.

We haven't seen much from Watch Dogs Legion at all lately. I hope the game gets some time during this event. Maybe it will be at the IGN event instead.

I imagine most publishers are going to want to have the game at these Xbox events since they will want to show the best version of the game, so these might become more frequent then we expect, with a couple marquee games at each one.

A number of games could surprise us come Thursday :)
My dream games would be a new TMNT or DickTracy open world game and a Batman trailer.

Jesus there is a name I never thought I read in 2020 outside my radio plays thread.

It would be awesome though.

Id pay 60.00 just to beat the shit out of Flathead. (hammerhead)

Right! Could you imagine how great a GTA style DickTracy game would be? That universe has a lot of material to work with.

If you're referring to the actual sporting events and not the games, then I agree but that's different, live sports are intended to have crowds. My point (which, heck, it's just my opinion, I appreciate others disagree) was that for game reveals, having a live audience just doesn't seem necessary. Judge the games on your own personal reaction and then the tide of online responses rather than crowds of people you don't know. Not to mention people love to throw out that "paid shill hype men" accusation.

Might not be the right show to do it, but hoping one of the studios or MS shows the difference between loading times Xbox One vs SeX version game.

Right now, all we have is a current gen State of Decay clip comparison.

Going the third part route is interesting - but if this is all their marketing partners, it makes sense to give them breathing room and a time to shine on their own.

Getting our first slice of proper next gen, Xbox Series X footage is pretty awesome regardless of what titles are shown. Heavy hitters like AC stepping in is a good thing, because we'll start to see the real impact of all that extra grunt.

Hoping for a few new reveals, but regardless, I'm just glad it's time for the curtain to start pulling back. Buckle up, folks!

Yup. MS has basically been the only one trying to support third party devs lately with gaming shows the past year or two.

It looks like some third party devs will get to show some stuff next week, MS will focus on first party games maybe next month, and also IGN said they are doing a summer show partnering with game studios. I think that show is more geared to third party. And then big third party devs will probably have their own direct show too.

We'll have to see how it goes with purely Nintendo Direct kinds of shows for all game makers this year. Might be good and splashy E3's not needed anymore. Also could be a disaster if some game studios suck at it.

It's ubisoft willing to bet my left nut it background it running on pc lol

Sony without a doubt (Street Fighter V, Final Fantasy VII), MS not so much. When they did it with Rise of Tomb Raider et the world started burning.

FFVII for sure, but they didn't do that with Street Fighter V (that's why it is still not on Xbox). They were largely responsible for that game being made at all- not the same thing.

And, of course, MS does this as well and usually unapologetically. I have zero doubts both will do it again, and honestly, it is probably the right thing to do from a business perspective.

Hell, Google should be doing this. I'm not going to ever consider Stadia unless it has something I "have" to play, that I can't play elsewhere.
