Wow one dude posts are GIF and the whole forum goes mental. I feel like some people are making the most of us desperate nerds. Like who even does that?? If you know something either say or don't. Making a mockery out of people.
You've been away for a long time, haven't you?

It would be odd if people got upset that the PS5 and Xbox Series X cost $499. After all, back in 1995 the PS1 launched for $299.

What if there's a well-crafted conspiracy to make everyone believe these systems will be $599, so when both companies announce a $499 price everybody will feel relieved and think it's a bargain, totally forgetting the $399 price point?

No such thing as intended use. All buttons are just extra buttons. Effective is just your opinion and I disagree.

There is and you are wrong. Play Killzone Shadow Fall and get back to me. The touchpad is not just an extra button. That's not why Sony designed it.

Am I the only who is worried that I will be breaking/damaging my dualsense controllers because of the adaptive triggers?

There are some examples of their use which makes me think that. Like, if I'm playing Dark Souls 6 and my character walks through a swamp or is engulfed by mud or slime, the triggers may need more pressure to be pressed all the way in order to give me the feeling that my character is sluggish. What happens if I overdo it and hold down the triggers a lot harder and with more force than I'm supposed to (due to stress, immersion or frustration) and I end up damaging the tech which causes the L2/R2 button triggers?

The increased resistance won't be a hard limit. It will likely behave like a force feedback steering wheel, where you can force through increased pressure without damage.

The triggers will have increased resistance, pulses, etc. Just for player sensation and tactility, not stoppage.

Honestly tho

We have heard XSX devkits were sent only very recently. What if the console doesn't make it in 2020? After all even the XSX games reveal showed games running... on PCs. Not a single one was on XSX afaik.

I doubt they will delay launch at this point. For Microsoft it seems to be their way to come in late on the HW/SW side with the SDK.

I think with the 360 it was late summer 2005 before devs got the actual HW dev kits? With Xbox One it was better at around February 2013 for the beta real HW but the software side was really late? I think if anything is late with Series X/S it will be the software side again. Phil has even said he took delivery of a full retail boxed XSX so they seem very ready on the HW end?

I've played it. The touchpad was used, like in many games. It was fine.

It is up to 3 buttons, left/right/center, plus hold for alt inputs, plus up to 4 swipe directions. We all know that.

Or it could just be used in some of those ways. No input has 1 way to be used. Its up to the developers. Not all games require using the same inputs the same ways.

I was saying this the other day... No leaks inside the factory, just the controller which is basically universal everything they do, and there isn't a confident news page that has reported they went to production, just a France newspaper which I think did not say It with real information...

Phil says alot of things to be honest. Who knows what's going to happen when that man opens his mouth.

I think Sony designed it as an interesting option and while I do quite enjoy when it is fully leveraged in unique ways, It doesn't lend itself to all types of gameplay and that's ok. I'd rather it not be forced when it isn't a natural fit. However, after being around a full generation, I imagine first parties will have picked up some ideas how to incorporate it better in future titles.

When i was seventeen, there was this chick i used to speak to, she had huge knockers, she was always flirting, showing them off to me

She teased me for over 2 years, In the end, i never ever got my hands on those things, it pains me to this day,

HeisenbergFX4 HeisenbergFX4 if your reading this, i want your knockers. give them up.

Let's hope he comes quietly....

I wonder what possible news it could be..

Cerny leaving Sony and joining Real Madrid as a goalkeeper?

Microsoft have bought Sony? 😲

Or... PS5 actually doesn't exist and it was all in our heads?

🤔

Another tasty, juicy nugget from Lady Gaia 😘😘😘😘

"Peak teraflop numbers are always misleading, which is why you see so many technically astute people write them off as a meaningful standalone metric. If you're looping then not every instruction is an FMAD, by definition. If you're actually processing meaningful inputs then you'll have execution stalls while waiting on data from the cache or RAM. If you're using the results of the operations to perform derivative operations then you're subject to additional small pipeline bubbles. The peak number is, at best, a relative benchmark and not a very good one. Highly optimized code is lucky to hit 30-40% of the theoretical peak, and it's far more important to run real-world code quickly than to win a paper spec war.

Unfortunately, the general public is addicted to overly simplistic measures and so the theoretical peak is what they're going to compare and as a rough measure across two similar architectures it should be in the ballpark. Without hands-on time with a dev kit I certainly can't prove otherwise. I am expecting that we'll see far more impact from other design considerations than the question of how fast straight-line code can run under ideal conditions. That's why I keep advocating waiting for games to come to any conclusions."

Unf getting juicy.

Hey, I always deliver :messenger_winking:

True he has said some odd things the last few months but at the end the day he is the man at the top and we can only go by what he says.

If you went by what he said Halo Infinite is a true next gen title that's not being held back by the XB1 and that the game wouldn't have any issues launching alongside the XSX. Plus he hyped those previous two events and made alot of weird comments about the competition.

Like I said he talks alot. I wish I could take his word but after what happened I really can't.

I agree some weird things have been said and done and what happened with HI is especially bad (and made it look like Phil wasn't in the loop at all about the situation) and it got me thinking about Heisenberg's Gif....Could Phil be stepping back or even have been demoted over the HI debacle? That would be seismic even though I highly doubt it.

It's more likely for Bonnie Ross to be sacked than for anything to happen to Phil in my opinion.

But I agree that Phil being the head of Xbox must have been watching over Halo like a hawk. Im pretty sure he knows how important Halo is to the Xbox brand and what a system seller it is. Pretty sure getting that title ready for launch must have been one of his top priorities. Not sure what happened there to be honest. Maybe he didn't see the game through development or maybe his standards are just extremely low. I honestly have no idea why they game ended up in a such a messy state.
