There are still physical buttons on Teslas, my Audi had millions of buttons and I don't even know what all of them do!
It's an objective fact that touch screen controls suck and are only being pushed by manufacturers because it cuts cost.
They really don't have a neutral?
I don't ever use neutral in my regular car as it's an automatic but when you take your foot off the accelerator in the Tesla the car immediately starts braking rather than just rolling forward under momentum.
Is that to recharge the battery?
Sounds like you enjoy having your ioniq. I'm a Hyundai guy as we keep them for 200k+ and I've never had a car last that long otherwise. My 2018 Tucson has 65k on it so I've got it for several more years before I'm ready to replace it. When it's time to pick my next one, I'm definitely looking at the ioniq…it looks absolutely impressive!
Yep so far I love it, I had a Hyundai Santa Fe before it, also a Hyundai guy from now one. Moved from Toyota, not that there ain't bad cars but they were getting pricey and didn't think the value was there anymore

Tesla's new lithium ion phosphate batteries can apparently be safely charged all the way to 100% without degradation. I remember an old story about a first-gen Model X used as a kitschy shuttle from LA to Vegas with over a million miles on it, it had only lost 10% of its battery capacity.

I did 210k with my Toyota matrix and it was still running like new when I sold it for my Santa Fe which I did another 200k on it. Had no problems at all with it besides the cost of gas, last summer vacations I spent 400$ on gas in 3 weeks (gas price here is insane in Qc) and that was time to move to hybrid for me. I was considering a hybrid when I was looking in 2018, but I couldn't justify the cost at the time as I only have a 20 minute commute and rarely vacation more than once a year, driving between 10k and 12k annually. My wife, on the other hand, has a longer commute and likes to go in town more often than I do. Not going to dispute that real buttons are better! I will only talk about Tesla in this thread, not any other cars/EVs.
I read that the current up to 2021 batteries are rated 500k miles and the new being develop which should be out 2022 will have 1million mile rating!
I don't know… we have E-fuel gaining traction… we should also consider that hydrogen might become a viable alternative in the near future (well, I guess this could also be considered a sort of EV but without batteries??)

So as an example on my model 3. To turn on the wipers manually I can press the left stalk. You clearly haven't driven a Tesla to get an understanding of how much useless shit there is in a car dashboard.
Fucking this. I don't own a car but frequently rent them for a trip with the family. Each time I get into one I have to verify the position of multiple buttons and levers, then of course the infotainment is shit and stuck into a tiny screen.
Yup, I already addressed the wiper to the others poster! I was not interested in an EV and Tesla wasn't in my radar until I test drove it. My first choice was Subaru Impreza Sti stick shift. I was weary of driving automatic again! But that test drive was so fun. They just gave us the keycard I let us have it without Tesla rep in car for 30mins.
Once you got your setup, the stuff is automated. Like

You don't have to be breathing your exhaust fumes,you're putting that shit out into the air. You don't seem to understand the difference between any of those things or you're trolling. I suggest you'd change your lifestyle if you think sleeping for 8 hours a day or not drinking coffee is somehow impossible.
