That would at least have taken another year to optimize for PS4 and wouldn't look much different from the remaster. There's no way this shouldn't have a ps4 version but I feel that Sony probably thought we have to have one ps5 exclusive game in 2022 as we don't have one so we will just cull the ps4 version and focus on the ps5 release.
Technically it could be on last gen with downgrades but the purpose of this was to get new staff up to speed with PS5 hardware. Also people forget adding in a last gen version is even more work now because devs have to make a port for both PS4 and Pro.we have to have one ps5 exclusive game in 2022 as we don't have one so we will just cull the ps4 version and focus on the ps5 release.

Naughty Dog said they wanted to make the definitive version, so I can understand they wouldn't make it 30fps - I don't even think there's a 30fps option for it on PS5.I think it would look just like last of us 2, I don't think it would be tough to get this to 1080p 30 on ps4 / 1440p 30 on ps4 pro. It's basically identical to tlou part 2.
Basically, it looks great.

With the remaster being on PS4, this wouldnt really make sense. There's no way this shouldn't have a ps4 version but I feel that Sony probably thought we have to have one ps5 exclusive game in 2022 as we don't have one so we will just cull the ps4 version and focus on the ps5 release.
That "definitive edition" thing can change easily when the PS6 arrivedNaughty Dog said they wanted to make the definitive version, so I can understand they wouldn't make it 30fps - I don't even think there's a 30fps option for it on PS5.
Maybe they learned how to make Dynamic Resolution, so we might get higher resolutions in most situations at least...Basically PS4 TLOU2 level graphics running at 60 fps on PS5 at 1440p. No rendering tech improvements.
Maybe but it seems even that is stuck at 1440p according to DF.Maybe they learned how to make Dynamic Resolution, so we might get higher resolutions in most situations at least...
But I thought everyone loved 1440p?Maybe but it seems even that is stuck at 1440p according to DF.

While I share in the sentiment, I don't think they were even at their peak when you look at what they've managed to accomplish technically in TLOU2 on the PS4's hardware.the fact that the ps4 version still looks good even today, shows that naughty dog were at their peak them days.
Honestly, If I didn't see a comparison, in my memory... the PS5 Remake is what I remember it looking like in the PS3 daysThey need to release gameplay footage asap

Nostalgia is a hell of a drug we all fall prey to, from time to time.Honestly, If I didn't see a comparison, in my memory... the PS5 Remake is what I remember it looking like in the PS3 days
I think that happens a lot, to a lot of ppl. We always remember things much nicer/better than they actually were.
There is no native PS5 version of TLoU2. I do bet one is in the works, however. Are there any comparisons to TLOU2 on PS4/5? Obviously it's going to look better than a game designed for 2006 hardware. How much is it better than TLOU2? Is PS5 exclusivity justified?
Also a lot of people are comparing the original game's pre rendered cutscenes to the remake's real time cutscenes, which I find funny because the original game doesn't look as good as the pre rendered cutscenes.Honestly, If I didn't see a comparison, in my memory... the PS5 Remake is what I remember it looking like in the PS3 days

but that's it man, those are the scenes that stand out... so they stick in your memory. A lot of ppl do remember pre-rendered footage as the "original," which I am guilty of... but I also don't think it's unique to TLOU, I think it happens across the board. Also a lot of people are comparing the original game's pre rendered cutscenes to the remake's real time cutscenes, which I find funny because the original game doesn't look as good as the pre rendered cutscenes.
You seem concerned, when they have said as much as them wanting cohesion between the two so it's like one big seamless story. Continuity between the two.Never mind, there actually are comparison shots. Looks like they recreated TLOU 1 in TLOU 2 engine and called it a day. Naughty Dog used to push the hardware to its limits. Now they just want to push this game before the show drops. No bueno.

This is by design. Their next IP is where we will see their PS5 central efforts, me thinks.
It's not bullshit, though. It's how OCD artists operate. Not concerned, just disappointed. They can give whatever bullshit explanation they want. It was done this way because it was fast and cheap.

Their next IP will be the tech game you're looking for.
That dude used a tiny 27" screen, of course he could not see a major difference...

If this looked a generation better than the second, that would bother my OCD, real talk.It really is.
No doubt about it.
Good 4K TVs have such good scalers in them, that it's nearly discernable. Also depends on how they do the 1440p.That dude used a tiny 27" screen, of course he could not see a major difference...
Overall I guess that 1440p is "good enough", but the more the better![]()
