The prologue will probably be full PS5 exclusive as that is what was advertised, but the full game will likely hit PC eventually.

The rumoured Bloober remake might go straight to PC though.

He has been a main voice actor in a few games as well as making his own horror game, Transference.

That being said, Konami referenced Restless Dreams in that Tweet, which is the subtitle for the Directors Cut of Silent Hill 2...so I don't think he would be voicing James Sunderland, but I guess it's certainly possible.
 
Makes me sad and angry that this thread only have 2 pages. Seems like not many older people here but just younger audiences who were not playing yet video games when the originals came out.

I say it one more time, Resident Evil is more action oriented and not very scary because of it. These kind of games appeal more to younger audiences.
Silent Hill is much more scary and is targeting older audiences.

Agreed. SH was always a deeper kind of horror. RE was more the gore and jump scares kind of horror like Dead Space. I enjoy both, but SH is the kind of series that keeps me thinking about it's crafting decades later.

I'm sure these SH threads will blow up once we see all the gameplay though. Hard to entice gamers with a slide of words. PT was just an SH teaser and it set the internet on fire for years.

And I agree with you, SH is much scarier and that's I like it more than RE. Hopefully one or two new titles will give a spotlight over SH, it used to be such a fantastic IP way back then!

I agree. I thought it would be at least 5 pages by now. Hopefully these new games don't sell like piss. It'll be a real shame if they are great, yet are a total flop in sales. Then Silent Hill will NEVER come back. Artistic and original yes, but I am not sure how marketable cherry blossom monsters are.

I think some of us (obviously speaking for me) are a bit skeptical of what's to come Wednesday because of how long and tortuous Konami has drug the news of a SH title out. I am very excited about Wednesday, but I've been burned multiple times at this stage... hence why I'm not bouncing off walls.

After six completely shit entries and possibly the worst remaster ever made you can't expect a whole of enthusiasm for Konami trotting out SH's corpse yet again. I love the first 3 games dearly with 1 and 3 being in my top 10 games of all time but I have no faith in what they have planned.

If there is one game in the universe that does NOT need a remake, it's Silent Hill 2. Its PC Version has been modded to perfection (being as close to the PS2 original as possible) and the game is just perfect as it is.

And since it's Konami we're talking about, it's gonna be the Bloober team remake…

A new entry has already been rated, which means it's complete and possibly being sent out during the conference. It's just the prologue though, so don't expect anything too big.

Don't know if we'll hear from Bloober yet, unless they have a CGI clip handy because they're already working on another project.
 
Maybe I'm getting old but I prefered the PT thing where nobody knew it was actually Silent Hill until they reached that cutscene at the end.

This whole sequence of marketing communication comes off as extremely boring, standard, uninspired.

With that in mind, I think it's the Bloober game and I think people will be disappointed.

I'd make a wish list of what I'd want, but SH has been burnt so much that I don't have any expectations other than maybe they'll release the Collection on Current Gen and PC

Yeaaaaah. I've appreciated the very few times Dusk has come through with some good stuff. But then stuff like this makes me shake my head. It just feels like childish clout nonsense. It's like the equivalent of, "I know something you don't knowwww!" Lmao.

Really though, I'm just hoping it's decent. I want it to be so much more than that, but I can't help but very incredibly cautious and reserved, lol.

Also, as much as I adore Silent Hill 2, would they REALLY remake 2 without remaking 1 first? I mean, I know 2 stands on its own two feet by not having any real connection to 1 and 3 aside from a few things, but it would just be strange to me. If it DOES end up happening, god I hope it's handled with absolute love and care.

Agreed about remake order. I would love to see them go the Capcom route.

Then again, Capcom never remade 1 and started with 2 for their new gameplay style. They left the HD versions of RE1 alone.

They already remade 1 with Shattered Memories although it really repurposed the first 3 games to be honest.

Considering how long ago that was, I don't really know if they would consider that "counting". Hell, a great deal of people didn't even realize it was essentially a reboot.

the one where Ito and Yamaoka are involved has the potential in my mind to even sell hardware, but we will see if i'm buying a new gpu or not yet
 
If they can bring Silent Hill back, what other dormant franchise can Konami bring back? If they did Metal Gear 6 it would be a shadow of the first four entries thats for sure

The only legit good post 1-4 SH game. I wasn't a fan of the chase gamelay, but the way the game evolved depending on your answers to the psychologist and what you did in game (looking at a poster of a bikini girl gave you the "sexy" monsters morph) was cool. Also, the story was fantastic. Legit good twist at the end. I also really liked the ice otherworld theme, which was unique to the series.

I never want another SH like it, but cool little spin off that was definitely worth the play through.
