I can't wait to see how some people on GAF spin this.
Neither do I, but not everybody has the financial means to play on all platforms.Honestly exclusivity stuff doesn't bother me as I play on all platforms and I don't pledge my undying allegiance to a certain brand
Timed vs Perm, ironic.
I hope the CMA and FTC will take note of this.
No, it doesn't.It makes sense. They have acquired a whole company.
Playing the world's smallest violin for you and Jim Ryan.
In here running co-PRWhere's all these Xboys from the CMA/FTC thread now?
First time always online got announced I called it out and said it was shit. Seems they listened to everyone. The basics of effective persuasion is that you praise someone for moving to your position. If you're just shitting on them even after they do what you asked, why would anyone listen to your requests? Just illogical negativity at that point.
Technically they didn't say to them the PS5 version was canceled. Just that they had to focus on PC and Xbox.the immediate cancellation of the PlayStation 5 version of the game.
I am just saying that meaning of words is important nowadays in those interviews. They still could release it later on PS5 without having lied in the interview. No PlayStation 5, we're focusing on Xbox, PC and the Game Pass
Phil being a disingenuous lying shit head? Color me surprised. No, it doesn't.

I'm just waiting until someone here says,Phil being a disingenuous lying shit head? Color me surprised.
Just become some guy who probably works in the mailroom said whatever does not change anything. It was never announced for PS5. So there was no PS5 version to cancel. Or something like that. Derp.
That's 2 posts above yoursI'm just waiting until someone here says,
"Well, it is true. Phil is not lying. They really didn't put Redfall's and Starfield's exclusivity in documents. They told the developers verbally to cancel the PS5 versions. So yeah, stop lying and defaming Phil Spencer. Nice try!"
Which one of those had the Xbox version cancelled?Hum, like FF Remake and XVI, Silent Hill, Kotor
and mucho more...
Aren't we talking about the same guys keeping Minecraft everywhere?Hopefully the CMA and FTC read this article as it directly proves the point that Microsoft is buying companies with the express purpose to remove access from other platforms. At this point only fools and fanboys believe Microsoft's claims that they have no intention of turning ABK properties into exclusives. You don't spend nearly 70 billion to acquire a company just to maintain the status quo.
Microsoft has a very long history of saying one thing and then doing something else. It's the same kind of behavior that got them in trouble during the Windows/Internet Explore late 90's era.
Sony made them cancel their Xbox versions?Hum, like FF Remake and XVI, Silent Hill, Kotor
and mucho more...
They are workshopping thisI can't wait to see how some people on GAF spin this.
Still waiting for when MS said there would be no exclusive Bethesda titles?
Cause all I have is the exact opposite:
Must be the other Phil Spencer I guess.
Technically they didn't say to them the PS5 version was canceled. Just that they had to focus on PC and Xbox.
I am just saying that meaning of words is important nowadays in those interviews. They still could release it later on PS5 without having lied in the interview.
The same thing happened when Xbox fans praised MS for removing the draconian DRM from The Xbox one after the shitstorm from legitimate gamers. They deserved no praise for trying to pull that shit on their consumers. The fact that they even dared to try it matters and they should get scrutinized for that, not after they saw the preorder numbers and got scared and backpaddled.
You're being disingenuous though, as Sony has exclusives and that it is essential for having a brand. And it's one thing to bring some franchises to multiple platforms but not others, like Call of Duty and Minecraft vs single player games that help sell systems. No, it doesn't.

All of them when they got deals with PlayStation. Original Kotor was an Xbox exclusive game btw. Don't forget final fantasy 7 remakes and 16. Street fighter 5 too. someone will come up with bullshit saying Sony helped the development of these games. Guess what, Xbox is helping with all of Bethesda's game development.Which one of those had the Xbox version cancelled?
Last time I checked, Microsoft did not remove any games from PSNNo, it doesn't.

Yeah, nobody is drinking that hopium anymore that COD would remain multiplatform. Not anymoreYou're being disingenuous though, as Sony has exclusives and that it is essential for having a brand. And it's one thing to bring some franchises to multiple platforms but not others, like Call of Duty and Minecraft vs single player games that help sell systems.
Frankly, expecting the competition to hand out all their content while your favorite company never gives out anything is nothing less than unmitigated gall.
My theory is that people have mixed what was said about CoD and what was said about Bethesda due to low attention span or dishonesty."With the addition of the Bethesda creative teams, gamers should know that Xbox consoles, PC, and Game Pass will be the best place to experience new Bethesda games, including some new titles in the future that will be exclusive to Xbox and PC players.
Must be the other Phil Spencer I guess."
That doesn't count for reasons.
literally everyone on this forum can play games on game pass, even ps5 owners, all you need is a half decent connection, a windows pc or a mobile phone. But Phil said he wanted to bring games to more players!!
Did they take away the PS5 version of Redfall or not?Last time I checked, Microsoft did not remove any games from PSN
Facts have never mattered in this years long tantrum.MS has done exactly what they said on the Bethesda deal.
Last time I checked, Microsoft did not remove any games from PSN
No, because it was not promised to be on PS in the first place. Now, Stellar Blade on the other hand...Did they take away the PS5 version of Redfall or not?
It is the same thing. It was neither announced nor available on PSN. You could not pre-order it for example.First they didn't remove any games because it wasn't announced.
NOW they didn't move games that are on PSN.
Nah man, they just buy rights to iconic characters like Spider-Man and deny him to everyone, or they buy third party exclusives and exclusive levels and such.Yeah, nobody is drinking that hopium anymore that COD would remain multiplatform. Not anymore
And both Xbox and Sony has exclusives. Sony doesn't go around buying multiplatform publishers and forces them to cancel Xbox versions. They also don't release statements every week that "gaming is for everyone" and "when everyone plays, we all win."
"Promised" get the hell outta hereNo, because it was not promised to be on PS in the first place. Now, Stellar Blade on the other hand...
After the 10 years? Probably not. That's enough time for Sony with "the best first party games" to create their own fps franchise.Yeah, nobody is drinking that hopium anymore that COD would remain multiplatform. Not anymore
Sony made them cancel their Xbox versions?Source please?
