It's not the Hollywood version of it though, I think she did a lot of pakistani films about women, which is a good thing. It's not like the American thing where you got some man-hating beast that hides behind inequality as an excuse.

I didn't like bringing Palpatine back or Rey calling herself a Skywalker, but other than that the sequel trilogy was pretty damn good. Daisy Ridley did a great job and I like Rey as a character. I'd also love to see more Finn, Rose, Poe, maybe even some more about that little alien lady that gave Rey that lightsaber in TFA, and other characters. They've been on a good run with Mandolorian, Andor, Obi-Won and Boba Fett, so I'm confident this will be another great SW addition. Looking forward to it.

She won two Oscars for those.

Anyone who thought ALL the movies would not remain canon were delusional. Even if Disney hated the sequel trilogy and wanted to reject it, they could still have Rey come back anyway (the same way they had the OT characters come back just to take a dump on them.)

I like the actress, and the character Rey still has some unfulfilled potential. Hope there's actually a good script behind it this time.

What was it?
The 'World Between Worlds' at the end of Rebels where Ezra created a new timeline by saving Ahsoka from her duel with Anakin at the end of Season 2. In the last movie there was a part where Rey heard a bunch of dead Jedi voices, Ahsoka being one of them. The theory goes that the ST could have been relegated to the timeline where Ahsoka died at the end of S2 of Rebels, and the 'Mandoverse' was the real timeline where Grogu was Luke's first pupil instead of Ben Solo. They even set it up for Grogu to choose to go with Luke.

Spoiler alert for anybody who still cares, apparently Grogu is used to create the Snoke clones, so don't get too attached to him.

The sequel trilogy was awful. Easily the worst Star Wars has ever been. I can't believe I'm saying this, but the prequel trilogy was far superior to the nonsensical sequel trilogy.

Disney should just scrap this idea and move onto to something completely different. Not many people are desperate to see more Ray, Poe or any other of those characters shat out of this Disney era.

It all comes down to the story, its it decently written and focused, something good could be made... we shall see.

If people thought they would retcon the sequel trilogy, that was pretty dumb. They would never admit how bad that thing is.

At least Lucas had competent world-building. All the man needed was a few people around him willing to respectfully call him out on his bullshit. For Christ's sake even Attack of the Clones gave us a bunch of decent lore and memes.

I wonder if they'll fulfill the potential Finn had at being a Jedi or someone who's Force sensitive.
Finn was the most interesting character coming out of Force Awakens and they turned him into a goofy, illogical, needy, worthless character.
Going off the last two films, if JB is in this new series when he gets the script, it will be 40 lines of him screaming: "REY!!!" (pause three seconds) "REY!!!!"

Why is this person directing a Star Wars movie. I mean seriously, have they learned nothing.
Get fucking rid of Kathleen Kennedy and anyone like her who's primary concern is virtue signalling over story and talent.

Disappointing. I hoped they'd start a completely new trilogy that has nothing to do with Luke, Rey, or any of them.

I liked the new trilogy, but not 4 movies worth.
