Who wants to tell him that Sony is better at this game due to being more creative with marketing and co-development, not to mention leveraging their larger user base and selling power?
Is ms rich enough to continually compensate other devs for lost sale on the defacto market leader. I think even they would struggle even if nadalla was actually that stupid.

What's ridiculous about all of this is that if Brad really wanted to make a difference that could result in "victory for Ukraine" then he would be telling his company to donate this 70 billion dollars to them, which incidentally is roughly the same amount that the US government have given them in aid.

But unfortunately that won't get him his bonus so no can do. It's a shame, I thought he really cared for a second there.

Is that we are calling it now, when a company is spending their own money, And we simnply voice where would like them to spend that money instead? did you have this same energy for all the wetdreamers who were saying sony should buy T2 or a big publisher in response? You are aware they are a trillion dollar company with intent to pentrate the market further, are you not? yo are surely aware that there will be more aquisittion are you not? so since when was does "aquisition begging" a thing..... Has it been going on longer in these threads than the thinly veiled port begs for starfeild and other now owned Xbox games on PS? what do you say of them?
I say you're in full on meltdown mode.

What time is it?

It's why the shifted to acquisitions. It's a smarter use of the money in the short term and long term.

PlayStation is, by far, the biggest market of Call of Duty. If anyone in power puts personal feelings over the bottom line, they won't be in power for long.

ATVI stock is taking a dump because essentially it is now pegged at the price microsoft offered minus the chances the deal will go through and until this is resolved they're trapped being hostile to their largest partner.

it's a poor use of money for sure. buying big studios makes sense. but there should be a limit because of how huge MS is

Isn't that the guy who predicted that Xbox would surpass PlayStation this generation?
Did he? Bless him, maybe he just bought into the early xbox hype and PS doom that was going around near launch. He is a reasonable guy. One of the few level headed journalists around.

I'm surprised MS didn't go after CDPR. They've even got a PC software store.
They just might try do that, but they kind of need to watch out for netflix too. If anything comes out of left field it's Netflix buying CDPR for their "AAA PC games" drive. Might be a bit more difficult to justify GoG for MS and it would no doubt be redundant/killed in that merger but Netflix might be interested. That's my crazy prediction of the day.

Things could change but that's the latest word.

I feel like like GOG would also be redundant for netflix, who already have a distribution method for games.

100% agree, I've said similar before:

Right now if anyone is to buy them it would be Netflix.

People will laugh but I don't see anyone purchasing them without there being some synergy and capability to continue to expand their franchises in the areas of TV and film.

The way he acts like he’s some spokesman for fans at times is ridiculous., he offers fuck all constructive either , best he can say is “ it is what it is”. F off Tim and shove that “wait till E3” shite up your arse.
Maybe he wants to get a job at MS. About a year ago they hired a "queer"cat e-girl as gamepass community manager.
I am so jealous:messenger_grinning_sweat:

Will be interesting to see what they (MS) do next.

Would probably move on personally but it does kill any chance of their mobile app store.

jesus christ another 9 months, this shit is really going to be dragged out forever. just build a bridge and get the fuck over it.

Either Microsoft pulls out in the next few weeks under advisement from its lawyers or Activision shareholders pull the plug by the July deadline anyway. Pursuing this is foolish. They could be wasting several years trying to get this approved. And if it is ultimately blocked anyways you just wasted so much time. Activision would be stuck to the hip with Microsoft, unable to make deals with anyone else really until it concludes.

yeah I can't see why you would continue this crusade. pick your battles and admit your losses.

Also, Microsoft wouldn't be able to make another acquisition in the meantime.

The appeal process can take up to 10 months, at least. That's nearly the mid of 2024 and more than halfway through this generation. That's way too much time.

They are so much better off buying many smaller companies, building up, and preparing for the next generation. They should be doing what Sony is already doing. Incubating new external teams, seeing what they can do, and then buy them out if they like it. Meanwhile, spend money to retain talent at existing studios and greatly expand them. And, if you want to actually make money and stop scaring away third-parties, drop your Gamepass plans. Make it a rental service for older games and some Day 1 indies. But if you want to keep blowing money, by all means do keep at it.

Yep, they literally have a blueprint in Sony's strategy. Just do what they do.

For some reason i thought that you could already stream games off netflix, so you wouldn't need a separate storefront to download games. It seems i was wrong.
Yeah, you would think they would but they unfortunately don't. I do wonder where they will release their upcoming PC game though, on Steam, EGS, etc or just off the Netflix website for download.

Me voting for the deal going through was the kiss of death. I told guys, I always get predictions wrong. Remember that fury avatar I had for months after the God of War prediction thread?

I am also part of the blame. Kept checking CMA site non-stop, even during work.

Should have put the phone down. My jinx is strong.

So Activision/Blizzard games are so big that new entries in cloud gaming can't survive without it?

I don't think that's the case, it's mostly the cost of entry into the shitty cloud market in general.

As many predicted, the people who boosted their online profiles on the back of the acquisition by feeding hope and then cope, are now telling people to wait for the appeal process. Fully aware that the appeal to the CMA could take upto 3 years.

But the saddest part about that is, there are people still clinging onto hope that the deal isn't dead.
