Who knows at this point. There is a 70 billion dollar payday for Activision on the line here.

MS has a 3 Billion dollar loss if this gets thrown out. Paying for these lawyers is chump change at this point.

There are only two games Sony could acquire that represent the same level of competitive leverage.

GTA and Fortnite. Neither of which is happening.

I think that's what makes the case so unique. Sony simply cannot match it.

Lol Ryan's a good dude, just a passionate Xbox fan who wants them to do well. He makes boneheaded comments every now and then (like today's tweets) but that 2015 tweet was fine. He was wondering if Microsoft even made an attempt to land a deal with him. I think Shu misinterpreted and admitted as much.

With regards to this exclusivity talk, FF16 was co funded and co developed by Sony correct? Doesn't Microsoft have an exclusive Kojima game in the works? 🤷🏻‍♂️ Was that said game brought up in the FTC questioning?

CMA suddenly tried to get their thing extended to October and we're basically told to fuck off by the CAT.

Canada then turned up saying they think the deal is anti competitive even though they had that opportunity to say that ages ago.

Which begs the question, why have both of them shat it within 24 hours? Because they fear the ftc will get beat and the acquisition may be closed. Or possible collusion. But that's tin foil hats time I think.

Should have learnt that when all them Sony Movie division emails got leaked a few years back. Absoloutely hillarious stuff seeing people that work together trashing each other and their employees over various email threads.

You don't know how effective it was because the judge has yet to rule on this case.

What's clear is that the e-mails from Microsoft do in fact raise some doubt when it comes to Microsoft's commitment to keeping games on PS platforms. There shouldn't be anyone denying the fact that the email has exposed them to some degree.

We don't know how the judge is going to look at the evidence and make her decision.

We don't know. You are right. But the overwhelming evidence and cross examination put forward by the ftc failed to show why the deal is anti competitive for consumers. If anything, some of their cross examination resulted in proving it's not. It's just bad for Sony. We'll see. Anything can happen in the U S of A. God bless.

I believe so for the main appeal.
This was CAT saying no to some kind of extension (delay tactic by CMA). CAT said something like they were "gaming the system" and that there hs been no material change to transaction to delay the appeal process further.

I have a question and there's no way I'm trawling though the thread.

Has there been any substantive comment made by either MS of ABK about their contract and ability/inclination to extend it?

There's a lot of speculation about the parties having to rush things through, but that feels like a bog standard tactic to put pressure on the regulators.

Maybe slightly off topic, but why is that site so pro the deal in the first place? After all of these months of debates/threads, I have still yet to hear a single reason why this is good for consumers in any way shape or form.
