Bend Studios teasing New IP

Didn't something like that happened before only to be a small thing of twitter?
I'm rooting for them if true though.

Ooh they're so casual, it feels like they are my friend. Shame they couldn't write it in lower case though.

Just think this could've been a Days Gone 2....

brb gonna cry

Game had so much promise.
Didn't play it until a year+ after launch. People kept telling me to just get through the first quarter and it opens up from there and boy oh boy were they right. I couldn't put the game down until i finished it.

If they can expand on the survival mechanics over a much bigger map:

- Base Building to survive attacks from hordes at night. Or have you ambushing other settlements at night by luring hordes to them (think Outposts like in Far Cry)
- Fixing up broken down cars and allowing you to fit all kinds of crap to them as doomsday buggies or transport of precious cargo across the map.
- Expanding melee weapons

Just some of the ideas for a much better game.

I always pictured Deacon and Sarah heading out to Vegas to meet up with Kouri and his crew. The sequel wouldve been the journey to Nevada and then whatever happens once they get there.

Ill forever be bummed out about it lol

Yeah it's something we say in America. I'm not sure if that went over your head. Not sure where you're from.
Its a very popular saying because its just a shorter way to reference that someone is in the lab like a mad scientist. It also has a non verbal sign thats often used in sports while having a good performance.

Yeah, I know the saying. I was just trying to be a bit cheeky, as some gaffers are not particularly fond of it. Guess I kinda failed at that. :messenger_grinning_sweat:

Edit: Nonetheless, I appreciate the explanation. :)

Hopefully the new SIE management after last year's restructuring (not only Jim's successor, but also the people who got promoted to fill higher-up roles over at PS Studios) begins to announce some far-off singleplayer titles like this one or the next Santa Monica, Sucker Punch and Naughty Dog projects, so that we won't have a PS5 Pro showcase that's as bad as 2023's show.

Wonder if they'll be on UE5. DG was one of the best looking UE4 titles.

Basically everybody who produced a product on UE4 is producing its next product on UE5. Not every UE5 game will use Nanite or Lumen or other UE5 features in an exciting way which will matter that their game has a "5" in the bulletpoints, but generally UE5 is the current "UE" in the way that UE4 developers would just say, "We're using Unreal Engine." (There are some exceptions like MK1 since Epic has deprecated some features and other issues might make converting over difficult, but it's not generally a choice in high-end or not, UE5 is just the UE you'd use.)

Either way though, Bend Studio did get great results from UE4 (and the whole project converted rather comfortably, even with custom work added, for them to the eventual PC product,) so I'm with you that I'm looking forward to what they can do with their second Unreal project.

They've never said so, have they?
"We are currently working on a new IP that includes multiplayer and builds upon the open-world systems of Days Gone, but brings you a whole new world that we are extremely excited to craft for you. We cannot wait to reveal it to you when the time is right," writes Kevin McAllister from Bend Studio.
