Lmao. What is happening in here and can't believe ass got banned. We can't ever lose that loony, he's a gaf treasure!
It was written!4 years early at that!
Microsoft are are desperate not "not afraid" lolI really do think Microsoft is going to redefine what it means to be a platform holder moving forward.
They aren't abandoning their platform/hardware but they also aren't going to be afraid to publish games on rival platforms.
MS should put everything on PS.
Except Call of Duty.
justifies the 70 billion purchase honestly speakingMS should put everything on PS.
Except Call of Duty.
If Xbox actually had a compelling back catalogue of games this could be a good move.......but there is a reason I've not purchased an Xbox since the OG.
English is not my first language, so sorry if my post was misunderstood. When I said regardless I was meaning without even talking about it. As I said it first, only Nintendo could be crazy enough to be unhappy about that. If this does not imply some praise of Microsoft games, I will have to be more explicit next time. And again, I really did not understand your post, that why I asked for clarifications. You guys are too quick to dismiss this as a negative for Nintendo. If ms goes third party, it would be a huge advantage for all of those titles to be the Nintendo Ultra home console. It would flush out the exclusives for all age groups and prevent a ton of aaa games from being on PlayStation. This alo might be the kick Nintendo needs to launch 2 consoles, you know they've been considering it.
You reply above acts like ms games wouldn't be on Nintendo consoles, but they would be regardless of exclusivity. Do you see the garbage they already allow on the Switch? The switch store is full of games that nobody wants, if they can become a third party dev, you can bet ms would be in a second.
It was so obvious the choices being made were bad.
Day one exclusives on PC and day one exclusives on game pass were going to destroy them no matter what.
And then releasing so few quality exclusives was the biggest problem.
PC is better this way, in the last 20 yrs, we've seen how the internet improved but it didn't change our perception a bit, still, %70 of the people won't buy the streaming concept for another decades, they'll still have to deal with the cost of keeping the service alive. I've no discrimination against keeping a 2 grands pc build and upgrade it every 6 years. Please tell me what the masses want, then. All you bring up is "80 more years guys!" bullshit with no solid proof of consumers' playing tendencies going towards a streaming-only future. If anything, it sounds like THAT'S what you want.
Only Xbox, mate.
They think, and I don't completely disagree BTW, their contents worth more than how the public perception see it.What MS losses to be a 3rd party? Less than what they'll gain being a 3rd party.
It's as simple as that.

They probably figured out that their current console base, and game pass isn't going to be enough to maintain all the studios they bought.
They already devalued their console by releasing games day and date PC and game pass, so might as well release games to an audience that is willing to buy games on other consoles.
This is exactly what it is. You're looking at potentially costing A LOT of people their jobs with the existing strategy. The math just doesn't add up.
The calculus is to not make Activision Blizzard games exclusive, but maybe a game like Diablo 5 is 1 year, 6 months, or 3 months, exclusive on Xbox or something. But then you have to ask if ABK games aren't exclusive, why would Bethesda games be. And it'll be the same thing there, like 1 year exclusive by default. Then you have to ask yourself about Microsoft proper games.
The day that Halo is on PS5, Xbox is dead.
We'll eventually get to that point, but there will have to some foreplay before that.Man, if I'm at Microsoft and we need to start making money fast, throwing the Master Chief Collection on PS5 for $60 would probably be a way to move a few million units lol. If they're in for a penny, might as well be in for a pound.
I think the Xbox brand days are numbered anyhow.

Yeah, it feels like an escape when there is no escape tbh, I'm in the real estate industry and I completely understand the situation.Well, it depends. If MS remains in the console business, they'll still have a closed garden with tens of millions of potential customers for their exclusive first party games. But if they leave the console business and become a third party publisher with an optional cloud gaming service, things will change drastically. Because then those millions of Xbox console gamers will be leaving the closed garden forever and move over to Sony's closed garden. Then Forza has to directly compete with Gran Turismo and without the built-in sales a closed market guarantees, it could be that in this new brave 3rd party world Forza won't sell enough anymore to be a viable IP. And there could be more genre games published by MS that will fall by the wayside because the console/PC market has become too crowded and competitive for all of those MS published games to survive.

It's a ton shit of studios to maintain for sure. They probably figured out that their current console base, and game pass isn't going to be enough to maintain all the studios they bought.

Phil already stated that they lost the console war with the release of Xbox One.The Console War
Owning stocks and bashing the same brand that you have shares with sounds suspicious, that doesn't up his credibility a bit.
Is he gambling? he should pull his money out of ms.What difference does it make?
Is he gambling? he should pull his money out of ms.
Yep.It feels so orchestrated, other than the CFO letting the cat out of the bag before the Xmas sales were over.
By it, I mean get a handful of twitter personalities to start discussing bad news before its official. By the time its official new narrative --> they don't care about console wars, they just want to bring games to where players are because they are the good guys. (Edit: this is not a bad thing though)
I think someone in there realized that they can't put the toothpaste back in, and decided to try and get as much goodboi points for being nice people who totally didn't need to port things to competitor systems.Fuck man, I just can't anymore...
How people for this shit I'll never understand

This is getting ridiculous:
And hilariously he thinks they can change the licensing agreement with 3rd parties for people's libraries:
EULA's that are agreed upon at the point of purchase clearly state non-transferable, but he thinks they can be retroactively changed? Never going to happen. This is the standard black and white that he clearly never reads before clicking "agree" :
