I own a Switch. I enjoy Nintendo because they offer games that no other platform consistently develop. But I don't get the hype for a Metroid Prime game in 2024 that looks like a PS3 game and will be nowhere near as well put together as other games in its genre. And it annoys me that it will probably review better than any other linear FPS action shooter the past decade, just because of nostalgia for the franchiseI seriously don't understand the mindset of some of the Nintendo haters on this forum.
No it was Prime 1 with a 4 in the title. And was basically verbatim gameplay taken from the old games. That's how it felt. It's Prime 4! Go play Returnal if you're looking for similar vibes and completely different gameplay.
This looked excellent for what it is. Prime 4!
Okay? Enjoy CGI trailers for games releasing in 2031 then.IT didn't look good. And I don't just mean graphics wise. But gameplay wise...it didn't scream new and exciting.
Weren't you the one creaming yourself about the new Dragon Age ushering BioWare back to the throne of RPG games?I own a Switch. If this game wasnt called Metroid Prime 4 and released on the PS5/Xbox Series, it may not even break 80 on metacritic
lmao I don't think you want to use that kind of argument for MP4... it was literally a jpeg for yearsOkay? Enjoy CGI trailers for games releasing in 2031 then.
I was about to post that this looks way too good to be a switch title, what you say makes sense brother, just the image quality alone is beyond of what the switch is capable of (judging by the video).
I'm all for more Prime, more Metroid. But I get what the fellow is saying - the trailer is just off for various reasons at least to me. Doesn't mean I'm not interested in it still. However I'd agree, I don't want "fresh and new gameplay", I want Metroid. It's Prime 4! Go play Returnal if you're looking for similar vibes and completely different gameplay.

And it was weird to get excited about that, too. I'm talking about this trailer.lmao I don't think you want to use that kind of argument for MP4... it was literally a jpeg for years
Yeah yeah if it was called Belda no one would care, get some new material. If this game wasnt called Metroid Prime 4 and released on the PS5/Xbox Series, it may not even break 80 on metacritic
Zelda actually offers a very unique experience compared to what Metroid Prime offers in 2024Yeah yeah if it was called Belda no one would care, get some new material.
Its a nice teaser, what we looked at was just a glimpse that its clearly an evolution of Prime 1, a little bit of the combat, soundtrack and the environments, but i assume there is still a lot more to show about Prime 4, what gameplay innovations it will bring to the table? for this Direct they focused on the early bits but later trailers will show a lot more gameplay variety, like pretty much all Nintendo trailers do for their 'big' gamesIT didn't look good. And I don't just mean graphics wise. But gameplay wise...it didn't scream new and exciting.
What other FPS game is there out there that's like Metroid Prime?Zelda actually offers a very unique experience compared to what Metroid Prime offers in 2024
IT's off but we want some fresh new gameplay. We don't want to play the same game. AT least i don't. I need some new wrinkles. Nothing stands out in this trailer. Granted it's not coming out in 2024. But look at the ~2d Zelda, Mario Party and Mario&Luigi game footage. Those scream new and exciting yet they are all at the end of the day ~2d Zelda, MarioParty and M&L games.I'm all for more Prime, more Metroid. But I get what the fellow is saying - the trailer is just off for various reasons at least to me. Doesn't mean I'm not interested in it still. because it isStill looks like a Switch (one) game for me. SAD!!!!
Wait so it's a Switch 1 game? wtf is going on?
it's really not.I was about to post that this looks way too good to be a switch title, what you say makes sense brother, just the image quality alone is beyond of what the switch is capable of (judging by the video).
it's a bad trailer. IF you look at TotK trailer #1, the first gameplay it shows is Link diving off sky islands and then riding a big rock up into the sky using a new power. Its a nice teaser, what we looked at was just a glimpse that its clearly an evolution of Prime 1, a little bit of the combat and the environments, but i assume there is still a lot more to show about Prime 4, what gameplay innovations it will bring to the table? for this Direct they focused on the early bits but later trailers will show a lot more gameplay variety, like pretty much all Nintendo trailers do for their 'big' games
( Tears of the Kingdom or Mario 3D World for example)
this was the first teaser for Totkit's a bad trailer. IF you look at TotK trailer #1, the first gameplay it shows is Link diving off sky islands and then riding a big rock up into the sky using a new power.
If it's cross-gen, you'd expect them to use their best footage (Switch 2) for the reveal.

Yeah its very troubling, im afraid they are gonna phone this one in.. This needs to hit as hard as the first Metroid Prime.it's a bad trailer. IF you look at TotK trailer #1, the first gameplay it shows is Link diving off sky islands and then riding a big rock up into the sky using a new power.
This one shows what new wrinkle?
The first teaser for MP4 was in 2018 or so.this was the first teaser for Totk
That's a technicality, the first time we really saw Botw 2 it was Link and Zelda exploring the tunnels under Hyrule Castle.it's a bad trailer. IF you look at TotK trailer #1, the first gameplay it shows is Link diving off sky islands and then riding a big rock up into the sky using a new power.

And it's exactly what I wanted..No it was Prime 1 with a 4 in the title. And was basically verbatim gameplay taken from the old games. That's how it felt.
That was 5 years before the game came out. And if you want to get technical about it, it's just a more expensive teaser than MP4 had. That's a technicality, the first time we really saw Botw 2 it was Link and Zelda exploring the tunnels under Hyrule Castle.
Also don't ask me how I know but apparently one of the new mechanics in the game is that Samus is able to ride a bike, it's used to traverse a massive desert area.
No idea how it'll work or look but yeah... Make of that what you will.
