How the hell

The giant of direct wheel drive and the massive hype in that market that they nailed for years. They were market leader, now they're bankrupt.

Corsair withdrew due to failed negociations. Now Endog AG the parent company of Fanatec is insolvent and has €95M in liabilities. Master negociators, they were against the wall and still asked a hard bargin with corsair, too funny.

They remain hopeful for an acquisition :messenger_downcast_sweat:

"The Management Board is confident that the company will be taken over by an investor in the course of the insolvency proceedings; at the same time, the Management Board assumes that CORSAIR is still interested in acquiring Endor AG."

Moza, simucube & simagic have basically stollen the cake.

Well.. this sucks but to be honest. even though their stuff is good, they cost a kidney and a half.

fuck even used they are expensive. So I am going to assume their market share is minimal.

They were still in the low range for direct wheel drives, expensive/premium for like 2010 but nowadays if you bought a belt/gear wheel over the cheapest direct drive fanatec/Moza you were not saving much money for the drop in force feedback.

It was Fanatec ~=~ Moza < Simagic <<<< Simucube in pricing

No idea the market share of the other ones but the thing also is that Fanatec marketing was absolutely nuts so the reward must have been shit. They plastered their logo in so many events. Moza in the meantime had the reputation of being the no brainer alternative to Fanatec because their quick release system didn't suck. Fanatec in the meantime had bent/broken pins, had too much leeway in high Nm. By the time they had their new quick release it was way too late.

Fanatec used to be the premium brand, so maybe also what happened is that those peoples with huge pools of money for the hobby just said fuck it and went with the higher tiers of new competitors? Fanatec found themselves not being premium anymore, direct competitor for the medium and low range...
