I wonder about their production line. It seems like they make entirely too many wheels. I wonder how much inventory they're constantly sitting on. They may have overestimated the demand for wheels on PS5 or been totally screwed by the failure of Forza Motorsport on XBS. Doesn't help that their products were super expensive. I'd often thought about getting a fanatec wheel and direct drive base in addition to VR, but the total investment is so much for something that I probably wouldn't ultimately play that often.

Not really, they were always sold out, especially for the hotter items like dd pro. Especially during the pandemic years they made big bank.
There might be something at play here as indeed rumors are they were going to be acquired by a big brand like corsair. They have fantastic equipment, and one of the only top brands supporting both PC and consoles.

Them being acquired doesn't change the declaration of bankruptcy and that they have a serious problem with profit margins, which MAY have been resolved by offering fewer productions. I say MAY because, that's not necessarily the reason why their profit margins aren't good enough. Could simply be material costs, volume of sales, e.t.c.

The sim hardware market is continuing to expand. But the problem for Fanatec is that they've lost a big chunk of their direct drive corner to the likes of Moza and other more well known brands who previously didn't have the equivalent products to compete with Fanatec.

They had massive issues with logistics when swapping out partners and shipping to a new EU warehouse so I'd expect a lot of returned/unshipped inventory to move. But they've only ever had backlog in orders, like for the QR2. I think this is just poor marketing decisions and spend but they will fine when bought out.

Product quality has also dropped, plus there's an immense pressure from bette yet cheaper wheel manufacturers like Moza in recent years.

I had the worst customer service ever with this company. Like, abysmal. I went with Moza instead and Ive been 100% happy. My only upset is I wanted a wheelbase that would work on all platforms so I'm having to buy an adapter to play on my PS5.

They went B2C and sold directly to customers instead of having a good B2B platform and distribute their products via B2B' retail accounts.
