As of this writing, there are 2.3M players on Steam. I assume PS5 is probably in the neighborhood of 400K? Then the rest is Epic and that other platform whose name escapes me.
If this remains true of the total number of copies sold, Steam makes up around 77% of the sales. Likely anywhere from 7-8M sold there alone.
There are also players on Epic (probably not significant) and another seemingly popular platform in China (could be significant), but I can't remember its name. That's actually insane. This game's been a massive success. I'd figure if the sales ratio matches the CCU one, the splits are something like 8 million PC/Steam, 2 million PS5 globally for the game.
Anyway, congrats to the team; I'm curious how they try following up on this one. Maybe a take on War & Peace?
And only on two platforms. Xbox pc and Xbox ps5.Fuck me!
10 Million in like 3 days??
Me too, but I really need to play games I already purchased. I'm trying to get through those now. Tonight I start either The Last of Us Part 2 remaster, or start FF16 again.I'm tempted to get this just to see my new 4090 in action. But my backlog!!!!
Just started playing Cyberpunk on PC for that reason.
Steam's top CCU for this game is a bit over 2,4M, which i guess is what they count, and by the "data as of...." they mean the sales will obviously change and even the CCU might go higher this weekend. As of this writing, there are 2.3M players on Steam. Bro, GTA 5 Sales Hit $1 Billion in 3 DaysI don't think GTA6 beats these numbers.
If only these morons at Rockstar decided to release GTAVI on the biggest gaming platform on day one... then it would.I don't think GTA6 beats these numbers.

GTA V made $800M on its first day alone. This suggests well over 10M copies sold. By the 3 day mark, it had made over a billion which could be over 13-14 million copies. I think GTA VI can exceed this. This might be the most hyped game ever.I don't think GTA6 beats these numbers.

so 3million concurrent users across all platforms
2.2million+ are on Steam (73%)
which leaves 0.8million on PS5 + EGS + Wegames (27%)
GTA 5 sold like 11 million in one day. Let see if GTA 6 sell more compare to 5.I don't think GTA6 beats these numbers.
Yeah, that's the one. I heard it's huge in China. That platform you're thinking of is probably WeGame. Had to look it up the other day. It's a Steam competitor owned by TenCent.
Nah, it's live footage from the IGN office.Phil?
Frame rate and resolution are too high in that clipNah, it's live footage from the IGN office.
This is definitely going to get everyone's attention. I can't imagine anyone not launching on PC day 1.
Yup and this is their first game, insane.Fuck me!

I'm not at all convinced that Nintendo doesn't give a shit. They have potential for universal appeal across the planet, including China. Things change.Nintendo literally doesn't give a shit (Wukong pushing them to do Day 1 PC).
Microsoft already does it and will probably do more PC timed exclusives going forward (Ara, Towerborne, Gears Tactics, Flight Sim etc.)
Sony's partly doing it with GAAS titles but the advent of LEGO Horizon going PC Day 1 alongside Until Dawn remake might suggest they're trending in that direction for games in general.
We'll see what's the case with Death Stranding 2...
