Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Early Access beta is going live now!

The first task in the tutorial - shoot a target while diving right. I haven't been able to complete that one single time.

Will the leveling of weapons and upgrades carry over to release?

No

Any reason to keep playing after reaching level 20?

There are more beta exclusive unlocks next weekend.

Try landing and then shooting, it's a bit generous. Also keep an eye on the text because it updates if you get it to do the same diving right, back and forward.

Man... this game/beta is broken beyond belief.

Everything was fine for one match but the 2nd match was a stuttery nightmare. Worst it's ever been lol. Doubt I'll make it to lvl 20 before wednesday now.

I haven't had any major issues when it comes to that, way more with MWIII than this beta.. I wonder if it's actually dependent on where you are located in relation to their servers, which should obviously be consistent everywhere, but you know..

Actually, beginning to think this is just a specific map issue (Skyline mostly). Scud and Derelict are fine.

Oh...

Still looking forward to getting stuck in when it does finally hit though. It's been years since I played CoD and while I still don't care much for the direction it's headed in the challenge/unlock grind and other silly shenanigans are digital crack. The last CoD I actually took serious was BO3 and it's kind of ironic that an entry which had wallrunning is a more methodical and slower CoD than the boots-on-the-ground ones we've been getting for the past few years. Let alone BO6.

I think I have found out over the last few days that this game is simply not for me. That's not to say it's a bad game, but I'm 40yo and the flow of a Battlefield game has always suited me better than dealing with a bunch of people on their 6th energy drink flying around everywhere. Back to Delta Force before the alpha ends!

They need to have a "old af lobby" for us old timers. I'm even older :) much older :(

Played most of a round on PC and Call of Duty just isn't for me anymore. Purple tracer rounds, ridiculous aim assist for controllers (playing on M&K feels like a massive disadvantage) and it honestly just felt like I was playing Cold War again. Some of the guns are complete dog shit too, hopefully they can sort out balancing for those that play on launch.

I've never got this complaint, always used M&K and always top 3 frag with my group of mates controller feels like such a massive downgrade when you've got the sensitivity right up.

Activision has been recording voice chats since before they were owned by MS.
Thanks for your pedantry, but they are Microsoft so there is nothing wrong with my wording.
It does show your average K/D or score in games, W/L ratio and points in capture etc. The less emphasis on KD and more on contribution in other game modes (not TDM) promotes better team play. Which is a good thing.
Debatable whether deemphasizing KD really leads to better team play. My lobbies were the standard mix of maybe 2 players at any time on each team is going hard on the objective while everyone else is more or less playing TDM. But I guess I could have been more clear... it seems like I was awarded an 'elimination' for getting the last hit on a guy, but I would also get awarded with an 'elimination' and the +100 score when I did most of the damage to a guy but a teammate cleaned him up. Presumably himself also earning an 'elimination'. At which point you're really not tracking KD anymore.

Could be wrong, but in one of the games where I was getting absolutely clapped it said I had a 1.18 k/d which didn't seem likely.
The weapons progression is fine and expected.
Yeah I know it's standard for COD, I'm just over it. I have enough artificial grind in my life from playing Destiny 2, doesn't leave much patience for grinding in a COD beta which despite being pretty good, I probably won't end up playing the full game.
It is really fun though and the best player killcam is quite cool. Was totally cracked in a match and managed a 6 kill streak one of those lol, wished I recorded it.
The play of the game killcam has been around forever at this point yeah? It does seem like maybe they improved the selection criteria a little bit though. I had a good clip in a losing effort winning a 1v2 and then doing an omni dive around a corner and melting some other dude.

Some of these lobbies feel like I'm playing ranked
Yup, like Thunder always says "these fools are playing in an esports tournament for free". Sweating their balls off for nothing lol.

Also, I just made it to lvl 20. There's no point in continuing right as the level cap won't be removed until this upcoming weekend?

This makes sense since the game has been in development for so long but I hope they can update the engine with the latest tweaks Sledgehammer did a few months back

Preach. I just want a soldier shootmans that is semi-serious, with realistic movement, not idiots diving everywhere like it's a John Woo action flick.

I enjoy it much more than I thought I would honestly. The movement isn't that big of an issue most of the time and honestly most people doing all these dives end up being easy targets.

Performance is really great on my 4070S, but I noticed some weird judder during movement which is super annoying. I'll probably try it on PS5 when the open beta starts, and decide where to get it from there if I decide to grab it. The combination of physical being possible, and "less" cheaters sounds nice.

The game isn't on the disc. The disc is just a download key to get the game. It's been that way for a while with COD. The files on the MW3 disc were actually MW2.
As long as there is a disc in the case I can trade it in/sell it when I get tired of it. Most games aren't actually on the disc anymore and haven't been since last gen. The only positive is trading/selling for me.
