Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Early Access beta is going live now!

Still flipping between the LG 45" ultrawide 240 hz OLED and the LG 32" 4k 240hz OLED with the 1080p 480hz mode

I love them both and just can't get away from one or the other :)
I was leaning to the LG 32 (32GS95UE-B) For 4k/HDR titles (astro and others) and FHD 480 for COD 6/titles where I want high refresh

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 6, 2024

Welcome to Weekend 2 of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Open Beta!

On behalf of the Treyarch team, thank you for an amazing Weekend 1 of our Multiplayer Beta! We're grateful to everyone who played and shared their experiences with us. Your feedback is critical to shaping Black Ops 6. Many of the changes below are based on data and feedback from Weekend 1 – but rest assured we are also taking this into account as we look ahead to launch. We'll be sharing more about what's to come in the weeks after Weekend 2 concludes.

If you're joining us for the first time in Beta for Weekend 2, welcome! We look forward to hearing about your experiences, especially with the new content coming. In addition to more maps and modes coming throughout the weekend, we're raising the Level Cap to 30 for all players off the bat, which offers greater access to new weapons, Scorestreaks, Perks, Equipment, and Beta rewards.

Here's what to expect:

WEAPONS

WEAPON SWAP SPEEDS

We've seen the feedback about weapon swap speeds, and we agree. We'll be reducing weapon drop times across the board for an overall increase to swap speeds. Players looking for an even quicker swap speed can try out the Fast Hands Strategist Perk in Week 2 of the Beta.
  • Assault Rifle, SMG, Shotgun, LMG, Marksman Rifle, Pistol, and Launcher drop times reduced by 50ms
  • Sniper drop times reduced by 100ms

MOVEMENT SPEEDS

We are making small adjustments to baseline movement speeds on all weapon classes to make sure they are sitting in a good spot relative to one another. We have mostly focused on Move Speeds and ADS Move Speeds, which come into play during combat engagements.

Overall we are happy with the weapon class usage and performance we've seen in Beta Weekend 1, as well as the upper end of movement pacing offered by SMGs, so these adjustments keep SMGs the same and generally improve other classes. We are mindful of speeding the game up too much and will continue to monitor and assess game data and your feedback.

The other notable change here is to Melee Sprint Speeds. We want players to feel incentivized to pull out their Dedicated Melee weapon as a means of map traversal. We also want to ensure that Melee users can catch up to other players who are sprinting with ranged weapons for those sneaky Body Shields and Finishing Moves.

Adjustments

Jackal PDW

JackalPDW.png

  • Decreased Maximum Damage from 29 -> 26
    • Decreased Maximum Damage range from 15.24m -> 14.61m
  • Decreased Near-Medium Damage from 23 -> 22
    • Decreased Near-Medium Damage range from 22.86m -> 17.78m
  • Decreased Medium Damage from 22 -> 18
    • Decreased Medium Damage range from 29.21m -> 26.04m
  • Decreased Minimum Damage from 19 -> 15
  • Small increase to view kick strength and view kick deviation.
  • CHF Barrel
    • Headshot multiplier improved from 1.2 -> 1.4
The Jackal PDW 's intended strength is best in class handling and decent mobility, balanced by a slower rate of fire compared to many of the other automatic weapons in the game. It was overperforming at medium ranges, so we've increased the damage falloff and pulled the ranges closer along with a slight increase to recoil. Maximum damage and CHF Barrel headshot multiplier have been adjusted to maintain the same hit to kill numbers while using the attachment.

C9

C9.png

  • Increased medium damage range from 25.4m -> 27.31m
We feel that the C9 is in a good spot as a well-rounded Submachine Gun with a solid rate of fire. It has higher horizontal recoil compared to other Submachine Guns, so we've given a boost to its medium damage falloff range.

Marksman Rifles Adjustments

Weapon
Adjustment

SWAT 5.56

SWAT556.png

  • Disabled burst fire queuing, which was queuing an additional burst if the fire input was activated at any time during the previous burst or the burst cooldown.
This is a minor change to improve control with the Swat 5.56 (and any future burst weapons).

ATTACHMENTS

  • The Rapid Fire attachment now correctly displays its recoil penalty con. The attachment description has also been updated to indicate the tradeoff.

MAPS

BabylonBanner.jpg

General

  • Adjusted general spawn logic to enable additional valid spawns under certain scenarios.
  • Adjusted spawn logic across several maps with the goal of reducing a high frequency of spawn flipping.

Our longstanding definition of a "bad spawn" is any time a player deals or receives damage within 3 seconds of spawning. This is the cornerstone of building the spawn system and does not change regardless of map size or game mode. We use this metric (among others) to track bad spawn rates for Black Ops 6, meaning that if you dealt or received damage within 3 seconds in Weekend 1 of the Beta, we saw it.

As an example, our Core Moshpit entry with the highest bad spawn rate in Week 1 was Domination on Skyline with a 4.2% rate, which means 4.2 out of every 100 spawns saw someone give or receive damage within that 3 second window. While we are generally happy with our averages, we know that an average also consists of worst cases, and we'll continue to assess throughout the lifetime of this game.

We also recognize that we each have our own definition of what a good spawn or a bad spawn is, and that's not always just about combat situations. For example, did I spawn out too far on Hardpoint? Or why am I spawning on the same side of the map as the enemy team? The overarching spawn system and the placement of spawns in a map are critical to the flow of the match. It is our goal with Black Ops 6, as it has been with every prior Black Ops game, to have a predictable spawn system that results in head-on engagements with your opponents while providing ample time from respawn for decision making. This includes accounting for time before getting into an engagement before you're ready for it.

For Weekend 2 of our Open Beta, we've adjusted general spawn logic and have targeted multiple maps with additional tuning changes with the goal of improving predictability and time to engagement. We know we have some work to do and will continue to process our data, evaluate your feedback, and play the game with you all to draw our own conclusions on how to continue making positive progress.

Which LG 45 IM V tempted how's it compare with a LG C series?
I have the 45GR95QE-B but its been replaced by a new model though you can still find the one I have as open box type of buys which I prefer mine because it has a remote and the new model does not

The C Series would be a better display being 4k I just didn't like the height of it on my desk its why I like the lower profile of an ultrawide or the 32" regular screen

Yeah I hear you.
Have a 42 C2 on my desk and usually run it in ultrawide mode so kind of makes sense to get native UW only thing if course the current 45 LG is 1440p.

How is native res 1440 vs 4k?

Your new 32 taking its place?

The 45 is quite big for 1440p and when I first switch between the 2 its like wow this is fuzzy but after a day or so it starts to look pretty good especially in games

Then I switch back to the 32" and its like wow this is clear :)

I have a pretty large desk and have both mounted on arms and go back and forth and honestly I want to pick a single one and stick with it but I can't decide which I prefer

Totally a side note I know the PS5 can run 1440p and on the ultrawide it just has black bars on the ends but some games especially Hell Let Loose runs much better in 4k on the 32" vs 1440p

Yeah thats what my assumption would be, that the combination of the two would be perfect.

I know they are launching them next year.
Thing is they will be over 4k of course to get the 4k ultrawide for real so could be more taxxing on systems.

What we need is.

4K, UW, 240hz, 45+ size and OLED.

Doesnt exist at the moment....

Think ill stick with my LG C2...for now.

I am not good at making OT threads, mine are way too bare bones

What I really want is for consoles to actually support ultrawide and not just stretch the image then I would stick with the 45"

As is I know playing console games on this monitor is slowly killing the center where the image is and will eventually be able to see where the black bars are on each side

I'm messing with the omnimovement I think this weekend. I want to really nail the dives and slides now. Didn't wanna invest too much until I knew I was gonna dedicate time to this

One of my friends who I play with says that some COD streamers seem to perform significantly better when playing on stream when they can control things than when they appear at events, like game/announcements/promos/reveals, etc.

I've played a reasonable amount of the latest COD and found this beta different feeling enough that I struggled with the way the guns felt, it was enough to put me off a little and also some of the map layouts felt like they lend themselves to camping (particularly the train yard one). It seemed like there was a lot going on, lots of angles to think about and watch for and weapons that felt tricky to depend on, and a whole new movement system. I am not, of course, a particularly skilled player in the grand scheme of things.

Looking at the way that guy would run into new areas dramatically swinging his view around and his aim seemed to just land on people so immediately, I find myself wondering if it's possible to be running an aim bot on a beta like this or not? Or is that just how some people can play practically immediately on a new game with new weapons maps and movement?
Yep there are videos already of cheatets on day one of the beta!

Also remember turn off crossplay if you want to avoid that, and don't forget most of the people playing right now are high end sweats so your bound to have tougher matches than when the casuals get in

Even if they fix the cheating EOMM will always be there.
they don't even try to hide it it seems in the bo6 beta, or since it's beta it's not working right, i had an HVT match going where i started off as HVT and went like 12-0 and was running around with this other guy protecting me, we both just died together at the same time out of the blue for no reason with no enemies nearby at all

Yep, it killed my joy to play COD. To know you're being psychologically manipulated and that you win and lose when the system decides to.

Ridiculous. I stopped playing such games.

The game feels so good to play! So glad I preordered and managed to get it cheaper by $10 from a voucher.

i really just use it to not smoke weed cause i've been cutting back lately and it's great for helping with that. definitely get into rounds that suck with cheaters or just dying over and over again but it's all good, i only play a few rounds here and there not spending like all day in it

Wildly entertaining shooter regardless of the sloppy menus, battle pass garbage and "seasons" I respect the classic lobbies, impressed with the gun play.

Wanted to snag this (big Blops fan) but this one isn't jiving with me at all. I'll cut it a tiny bit of slack because it's a beta. However, this feels the same to me as the others the past few years. Really lazy shit imo.

Will look for a cheap code or deep sale if I do make the leap the down the line. Glad some are enjoying it though.

The grenade launcher you get with the vault preorder is stupid fun

Take the supply boxes and drop 2 or 3 and you literally have unlimited grenades to launch :)

Something only m&k players say to make themselves feel less guilty about spinning 180 degrees and snapping on to headshots.

As a (self-proclaimed) shit hot UT2004 player back in the day, I know exactly what I'm capable of with a m&k - and it pisses all over what I can do with a controller in COD.

Warzone has been ruined for me and my buddies due to PC squads with m&k.
that's how it was when FPS was essentially PC only but all the FPS since 2007 or so were built literally for controllers with native aim assist. take away aim assist and you are correct however.

Great cos this year probably the most addictive it's been in a long time.

Pretty much an instant classic.

Me and my mates are lvl 30 from just tonight. Sheesh
