4M copies isn't exceptionally well and the game is nowhere near well-known, that's why you had to add "for a game from a small team and studio" to try and give it a bit more weight.
Not at all, I was saying it's a factor. The other guy said it sold maybe 20K copies, to which I replied 'most people don't even know it exists'. So a low number is a given based on that alone.

So Ryan Ellis should end he's career as a game designer because he was part of a team that created a complete dud? He's ability to design games isn't defined by the time and cost it took to create Concord.

Less than 3000 concurrent players max on Steam during the free open beta. I can't believe they even bothered launching the game after that. I'm sure Sony is regretting that decision and wishing they could erase Concord from people's memory. They should've delayed it indefinitely and quietly canceled it when nobody was looking.

I'll never stop being dumbfounded by the industry's decision to put people who act like that in upper level creative positions at development studios. They seem completely detached (IMO) from a massive percentage of their target audience, and in some cases seem to have outright disdain for the audience. It's even more bizarre that they didn't course correct at some point. One of the many side effects when you and the people you surround yourself with are in that of a bubble. This is going to be biting a lot more western studios, and possibly a reason we are not seeing much of other games, due to a "call to arms" of having to gut and restructure what they have done so far, since they are realizing that shit isn't going to fly.
I don't really play multiplayer games, so they'll have to show me something spectacular to make me interested. What I've seen so far reeks of Ubislop.

Shinji Mikami should've retired after God Hand because it was trash, right? Also, a game can be great and still sell poorly, it isn't a good metric to measure quality. The woke direction Concord took is due to our current social climate. There is nothing career ending here for Ryan Ellis, he still has a future in the business and having played Destiny 2 in it's prime when he was involved, I'd still want him to lead projects again in the future.
There's more to woke that killed the game.
Every major studio is pushing this sort of content now. A lot of mainstream games have to fulfil a quota. It doesn't always represent the quality/skill of the staff involved in some of those projects. Should Neil Druckmann step down because of all the woke shit in TLOU2?
That Steam Deadlock game is an alpha test shadow drop. And supposedly to play it you have to get a steam friend invite. 120,000 CCU right now and holding pretty well for 3 weeks straight at this level.
This could be the reason why we're not seeing anything out of their backbone studios. Maybe a few adjustments are being done behind the scenes after seeing these trainwrecks.
