I got the HD Remaster too. I couldn't get into the 3DS Version due to the controls

I'm at the final mansion and I have to go back to finishing the game. This mission I'm on is where you have to suck up all the ghosts under a invisible time limit. It's just tedious at times and I'll eventually go back to the game but that mission especially annoyed the shit out of me. Since I either kept on dying or that invisible time limit ran out
 
Silent Hill 2 Remake
Roaming around the hospital. The game gets scarier with each location.

Haven't played too much but love what I've seen so far. PE2 is one of my favourite games, but this is my first time with the original.
 
I've replayed Astros Playroom today. It's cool to see a lot of the ideas that were carried over to Astrobot. It's kinda crazy to say because on release the game charmed the pants off me, but going back it actually feels very lifeless when compared against Astrbot.
The 4 secret bots they added are complete bullshit. How anyone would figure out any of them without a guide is beyond me

No idea how people figured out the Bot that was on the beach level.
 
I'm playing through Death Stranding again and I'm about to head off to the wind farm (eek). The production quality still staggers me, and some of the landscapes especially look super realistic. DS 2 should look absolutely nuts on the PS5 Pro, and I can't bloody wait. Christ knows where Kojima will go with it story wise. One thing you can guarantee is that it'll be batshit crazy.

Its just so fun 😎. Every time this chorus kicks in it still hits. Such a great game. OST production quality is actually fantastic. Sounds sick in my car turned up loud.

That sounds terrible. I wrapped up the second Mansion today. The amount of tedium produced by the mission structure is starting to catch up to the charm the game provides and I fear it will soon overtake it. Invisible time limits would certainly make that happen more quickly. I really wish they would have reimaged the game to get rid of the mission structure.

RE5 is also in the books. Not sure if we'll do the DLC (which I've never played).
 
Currently playing Star Wars Outlaws and Metaphor: Refantazio.

Was going to play Silent Hill 2 and heard a lot of great things, but I just don't have the time. I'll pick it up some time next year.
 
I am kind of all over the place. My primary platform is PlayStation 5.

Iron Meat. Really fun Contra-like. I need 3 more trophies for the platinum and the final unlockable skins. I'm struggling with them, though. It's getting frustrating.

Ghost of Tsushima. I started a new game for the PS5 version. I'm clicking with the combat much better this time. The game is still absolutely gorgeous to look at. I spend a lot of time in Photo Mode.

Starship Troopers: Externination. It just launched on console. I am playing it solo and focusing on the single player mode for now. It's fun, but seems like it really is better with friends. I don't have anyone to play it with, though.

I downloaded Powerwash Simulator again, but now there's a glitch that won't let people continue on their save files. You have to delete your save and start a whole new game. It's been like this for at least 3 months. The devs are aware but still haven't fixed it. Paid DLC has continued to release, though… =/

Squirrel With a Gun launches on console this week. I preordered it.

I love it, gonna play other Point and Click Adventures when i finish this one. i got the Point n Click Fever. One of my favorite genres besides Turn Based games.
It doesn't get more cozy than a good Adventure game.

Just finished mafia one remake I need to get onto two and three. Are they remaking those?

I think I've just finished the starfield dlc. Need to load it up tonight to double check. If I have then it's straight onto warhammer space marine 2 with my two buddies. Which hopefully we can get through in time for me to silent hill 2 on Halloween times.

So many good games.

Mafia 2 Definitive Edition is just a remaster unlike the first one which was a remake. I believe Mafia 3 Definitive Edition is a main game + DLC compiled in a single package with some minor updates in visuals

To my understanding Hangar 13 doesn't have plans for remaking other two and currently are focusing on Mafia: The Old Country which you could say is "Mafia 0"
 
Okay, Rebirth seems massive in comparison to Remake. I'm playing them back-to-back, but still, the game bombarded me with so many systems at once.
 
Finishing Yakuza Like a Dragon, I think I have like 2-3 hours left if I power through.

Tempted to buy D4 expansion but I still have Elden Ring and BG3 to finish, so…

Unlikely, I might jump into Mafia 1 remake after this semester as I wanted to run thru it before next year, I've heard great things and I really liked Mafia 3's gameplay

I don't believe they are remaking 2 and 3, its likely they've moved on and their main focus right now is Mafia 4 aka The Old Country

edit fuck what I said, lol Dazraell Dazraell got the right idea lol maybe Zero makes sense, but I've seen series go either way, like DMC3 and MGS3 are both prequels, but still have 3, but RE0 is before RE1 and they didn't just call it RE4 so...it depends on the company I guess.

Yeah, it could be a fourth game too. To me it feels like 0 because it's not only a prequel, but it seems it may have some story beats tied to first and second games. So I kinda used Yakuza 0 analogy lol

I thought the remake of 1 was thoroughly enjoyable. It's not perfect but I really enjoyed the story and how it was delivered. It looks great too!

Ill just jump into Mafia 2 remaster then :)

Hangar 13 is kind've a shitty developer (even though this is probably Take Two to blame) but Mafia 1 Remake came out 1 month before PS5/SX and they never bothered to update it for 60 fps ..

Just started doom eternal. I don't know why they don't just give halo to these guys. Game is pretty great. I could see these guys also tackle a gears game very well.
 
Oxenfree II. Played the first last year around this time, thought this one deserved a crack too. Loved it, good story. Multiple playthroughs though to get the plat which is abit meh.
 
Blood Omen 2... Holy fuck, what a massive departure BO2 is from previous LoK games......

I beat SR 1 & 2, trying to get BO2 done so i can finally play Defiance.

FFVII: Remake
Really enjoyed the game for the most part, FFVII on PS1 being one of the best experiences at that time for me. Beautiful visuals, music and voice acting. Legitimately funny at times. Pretty decent story though the pacing was off due to all the side content in between. To be honest the combat was a hot mess. Really didn't click throughout the 100+ playtime. Way too unnecessarily convoluted.

Rift Apart:
This was disappointing. Characters were boring and dry and it lacked the humour of earlier entries. The gameplay was way too repetitive. The bosses all required the same strategy. Jump over the big laser and shoot bad guy. Upgrading weapons felt pointless and really didn't add anything worthwhile to the gameplay. The forced political agenda really didn't help either. Many eye rolling moments. I feel it game together towards the end which is a plus. Still, pretty big let down.

Psychonauts 2
In contrast to Rift Aoart, this was a breath of fresh air and a much better platformer and game. This game is really impressive. Absolutely magical Tim Burton like atmosphere. Really nice visually, though not at the level of Rift Apart. Fantastic characters, fantastic story that's very well told. Level design is on another level. Gameplay is great though fighting enemies is probably its biggest weakness. The way the game handles mental health is interesting. All around a must play for platform fans.

Modern Warfare 3
Haven't played a COD campaign in probably over a decade. Despite the hate it gets I really enjoyed it. The hand crafted levels are tight and intense. I wasn't a fan of the open levels as much, however they were still decent. High rise was awesome. Can't wait to play 6 on Gamepass later this month!

I only barely began this when it came out and put it on the back burner all year. Really glad I've gotten back into this. Absolute bliss to play. Nintendo magic through and through.

The Callisto Protocol.
Same as Mario wonder. Started this when it came to Game Pass but got sidetracked. Decided to start from the beginning again. Survival horror is right in my wheelhouse and this game has so far been bloody excellent. Goes to show that you can only trust your own experience when playing games, considering how poorly this reviewed. Love the visceral melee combat, upgrading weapons is great. Gorgeous game on Series X. Will definitely be purchasing the DLC once I'm done with the campaign.

Yeah, I also played both games at around the same time and everything except graphics is just so much superior in P2. It has something interesting to say and is actually funny when it wants to be.
 
Finished cycle 3 of Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance on Godborne + Hardmode, which had quite a surprise in the form the second last boss Tehom. I thought I was going to breeze through the final gauntlet of fights but this one turned out to be a fairly brutal battle of attrition. I kind of love that it keeps surprising me, even at this point. I'm about ready to finish my time with the game though, so I think I'll do the remaining endings on Reborn. I'm quite satisfied with team of demons and don't feel the need to grind out resources to try some of the crazy builds.

Still playing Space Marine 2 alongside that, replaying campaign levels and trying out all the classes in Operations to figure out which one to level to max.

Finally, I got a Playdate and have been checking that out. Definitely not for everyone but a really fun enthusiast device with games that range from retro and nostalgic to really inventive and creative. My favorites so far are Whitewater Wipeout (really simple and addictive high-scoring surfing game) and Crankin's Time Travelling Adventure. The latter being very simple and cute but deceptively hard (designed by Keita Takahashi of Katamari Damacy fame).

Still deciding on what to start with after retiring SMT V... I was very tempted to get the Collectors edition for Metaphor Refantazio but ultimately I think I can use a break before starting on a new massive JRPG. Might go back to replaying FF7:Rebirth on hard. Or finally getting Shadow of the Erdtree...

Making slow progress because I'm rubbish at tactical rpgs, but I'm constantly amazed by the sense of discovery and depth.
Absolutely stunning.
Hopefully I'll git gud, finish it, then move onto Baldurs gate 3.

I started Metaphor right after finishing SMT V. Thought I would burn myself out of it but nah, both games are different enough specially in pacing and atmosphere that it's really not hurting the experience at all.

I'm still early into Metaphor, but so far I'd say SMT V is more my jam.

Both a very good games, but Metaphor has slower pace with tons of downtime while SMT is 95% gameplay, 5% story.

It really depends on the kind of JRPG you crave at the moment. Lore rich, story focused? Metaphor. Gameplay (combat and exploration) focused? SMT.

I saw lot of people get excited for that game but to me it looks like another janky meme game similar to goat simulator which was funny at first but the novelty wears off pretty quickly.
 
Doom. I been playing Eternal but than it got me into going back to the game before that one. I dived deep into that today and what a game it is. Absolute beauty of a game. I'll be going to Eternal as soon as I'm done with it.

I finally decided to get into control. This game might be the best game in terms of physics and environmental destruction in a while. The graphics are simply stunning.

I also started this nice little gem Soulstice. Was free on prime and another solid free game. Really digging the old school gaming here. Combat seems basic, but I'm loving the art style and fixed camera angles. Brought me back to the old days of gaming.
