Path of Exile 2 early access starts on Nov. 15th

Do i have to purchase something to play the Early Access of PoE 2?
Or is it completely free?
Edit: From what i've seen you have to buy an EA Key for 30$ it seems.

EA(early access) is paid. Launch supposedly next year will be free to play just like PoE. They haven't released details on how much or anything else. They are supposed to have a livestream later this month to cover everything about the EA.

Edit: forgot to add that they said there will be a supporter pack that gives access as well as a lifetime spent total that gives access as well.

Yep, i saw that. Hmm i was hoping for completely free access but it is what it is.

How does multiplayer work in PoE (2) ?

I've been looking for large-scale PvE or co-op game. (ie. can I join a random game with 6+ people and fight some mobs?)

And it's the same game minus losing your character?
That we don't know if Hardcore will have better and different loot than Softcore so i can't really say.
In Path of Exile hardcore has the same loot as softcore so maybe here it is the same, so yeah it would be the same game minus losing your character.

PoE 1 wasn't designed with a controller in mind, so it's a little clunky. PoE 2 is designed to work well with both MKB and controller from the start, so it should feel a lot better.
That is true, but even on Diablo 4 (also designed for controllers), inventory management can be a bit of a pain. PoE 2 is very likely going to be quite a bit more complicated then the relatively tame Diablo 4.

I'm sure the game will be fun to play with a controller, but inventory, trading, and communication is still going to suck a bit.

Check the footage from the latest previews at games on, TGS, the recent Brazil show, etc. It's not bad.

I'm really curious how many content there will be in this EA but i have the feeling it will be quite an amount. Just my feelings.
The more the better even if it's not balanced right from the beginning.

Based on reports, it'll be a decent amount, with a substantial campaign and a proper endgame.

Love that they have included couch co-op. Such a neglected feature nowadays. And the fact that it has cross play and cross progression is great too. I prefer playing aRPG games on PC but with my PC being ancient if it doesn't run too well I always have the option of starting on PS5 and then migrating to PC again later on if I decide to upgrade.

As far as masochism kinks go, playing PoE with a controller is up there.

I bet PoE 2 plays way better with a controller. WASD is so cumbersome in Diablo 4. Now that WASD is required for the best experience, controller all the way.

I'll still be playing at my desk so I can easily grab a mouse if needed when messing with my inventory.

I'm really looking forward to this. Everything they've shown so far looks amazing. That class with the gun and the different ammo type looks fun as hell

These devs know what they're doing so I'm somewhat optimistic. But I'm sure early access is going to have problems.

Any specific problems you thinking of? I mean Performance Problems or balancing problems?
Because i think both problems will occure, oh yeah and bugs.

Really pumped for this.
My fav ARPG was last epoch till recently. D4 was really disappointing at launch, it never opened up the way I thought it would.

Always bounced off poe due to the complexity but last epoch helped me with that. Recently tried POE1 and it might be my fav ARPG now, at least mechanically.

POE2 seems to shake up the ARPG formula, this is what I'm excited about:
200+ active skills
200+ support skills
100+ bosses
Insane level of animation and graphics
Move while fighting
Skills interact with each other and with other people's skills
Much more skill based gameplay (ie. Not mindless clicking): active block, timed critical hits
Each active skills can be supported by several support gems which can fundamentally change how it works
More dangerous enemies, no more boom and zoom (at least for a while)

Beta/early access will likely be $10 for a key or $30 for a supporter pack. Not confirmed yet. Stream happening next week, no set date but target was end of Oct. 3 acts + some number of maps (20?) with acts and new content added every few months for about 6 months till full release.

As for micro transactions, if it's anything like POE1, it's quite reasonable. There is cosmetics and if you get quite deep into the game you'll need a few more stash tabs (maybe $30-$40 worth?). If you want to play some story and a bit of endgame you won't feel compelled to spend a cent and it feels like a proper paid game probably more so than d4 which tries to throw their store and battle pass into your face all the time.

Wow, that sounds awesome. Now i'm even more hyped.

By far the game that I am most looking forward to. I have played a ridiculous amount of hours in POE over the last 13 years.

For those who want to know about the price for early access, this is something they did for POE as well at the start BUT you aren't just buying a key, GGG has increased the quality of their MTX packs over the years, and I believe they will really have some cool things in this one too. So you will get MTX from the pack, the key, and points as well to spend in the shop for whatever MTX (i.e. stash tabs and such) that you want.

The quality might be there with the cosmetics but the price was too. Can't speak for other regions but in Australia, there are a lot that cost $50+ which is ridiculous for one thing. I'm never going to spend that much for cosmetics but I probably would pay $10 for something cool and I guarantee I'm not that only one that thinks that way. I guess they have someone that works it all out but I always believed that if they sell something for less, more people would be enticed to purchase and in the end they would still make the same amount of money or potentially even more?
