Switch 2 Leak Drama: Nintendo's lawyers/ninjas confronted Genki in Vegas

I think Nintendo is very afraid of showing the console, there are companies like Asus ROG Ally x or similar that are powerful... And of losing sales of the Nintendo Switch.
doubtful, sales of even the steam deck seems like a drop in the bucket compared to the switch.

Nintendo isnt reactionary to competition, they likely already have their reveal plans dated and just refuse to budge.

Asus, Lenova or Steam can release a super powerful handheld but they won't have the Super Marios, Metroids, Smash Bros, Kirby, Zelda, Donkey Kong etc
on them to sell those systems. Guess who does........

Nintendo isn't afraid of anyone. They're well established of using the "blue ocean strategy" and march to their own beat; no one else's.

I doubt that Genki would have showcased this stuff at a CES booth if they were prohibited to do so before Nintendo's announcement.
It's probably the same situation of new smartphones designs being leaked by dedicated accessories every year.
If that isn't the case...well good luck to them"pie_tears_joy:

But in the end there was not much to leak, it's just a Switch with a bigger screen, super boring stuff.

Nintendo speed dial....

Howard Lincoln was truly one of Nintendo's greatest assets back in the day. Literal Lawyer that saved Nintendo's ass from being sued by Universal Pictures over Donkey Kong/ King Kong disputes. Became president of NOA. Knew US laws backwards and forwards. Had a crack team of lawyers. He's like the Master Ninja of the Nintendo Ninja clan of law representatives.

Everybody panicking while Nintendo with their Big Dick Energy is carefully planning a launch for the successor to the (almost) most successful gaming system ever.

You guys are weird.

I doubt this, why would Nintendo's lawyers go the booth instead of the company itself? and why would Genki get access to the Switch 2 to produce accessories for the Switch 2 without signing a NDA :pie_thinking:

That's a good question, actually. One would think there would be some sort of embargo for revealing third party accessories before the Switch "2" gets launched. The Genki thing wasn't really a "leak"as renders were shown off at CES.

Maybe there was a miscommunication somewhere that Nintendo was going to announce the Switch "2" but perhaps backed out? Maybe they don't have everything in order for the handheld? Perhaps they don't have the marketing ready, or something? IDK. Nintendo sending lawyers out to a trade show seems like they are just sending a message to other third party peripheral manufacturers?

But then again, I am just throwing out speculative theories. I don't know any more than anyone else here.

Call me crazy, IDC.. but I think secretly Nintendo has intended this.

I'm not gonna elaborate, but I think this is a dream outcome for them. They couldn't have planned it better.. it's free marketing day after day.

By the time they announce the Switch 2 officially people will be lining at the door..

I hate no other corporation in gaming as much as I hate Nintendo. Not Square, not even fucking Ubisoft because who gives a shit about them. They have some great creative people (just like square), but their whole management and executive branch can just fuck right off.
wart ahah

i play games nort managment

For the most part, that's how I feel. Either by intent or lack of action, the drip feed is desirable.

That said, I'm fiending for today's dose and this isn't cutting it.

Holy fuck.

Learn to shoot man.

You would be banned from any open shooting range for life.

I have seen some idiots bringing their friends and one of them shot the other in the leg by accident
I go to the range a lot and you can just tell by looking right off the bat who you may need to keep an eye on

Sometimes even the instructors

Just like the internet. Sometimes I come across a topic somebody is talking about, whether in a forum, article comment, whatever, that I'm actually an expert on professionally in real life, and the advice they're giving sounds legitimate, good, and they seem reliable, but I know what they're saying is factually incorrect.

Then I think about how many times I've been on the receiving end of that for topics I don't know too much about myself.

One must always have a questioning attitude towards everything no matter what. Even the experts may be wrong, and that may be more often than not.

I'm not sure why people are acting like it's not Nintendo's right to conduct business any way they want to, and decide themselves when they want to announce stuff, release stuff or whatever.

It's like people believe Nintendo games are public domain and they have a responsibility toward the gamers to give them anything they want, and are then upset when Nintendo keep Nintendoing.

I think most people assumed this is some fancy 4D chess hype thing by Nintendo, now you are telling me then never knew Genki will leak it?

agree.

it makes no sense for the legal team to show up in person when they would just send a letter. And if did happen, why didnt he record it?

From what I read, Nintendo isn't after Genki themselves (again, wouldn't make any sense to do that at the CES), but are probably investigating the rumours of some real units circulating in Las Vegas, that some accessory makes claim to have seen and have used to make their products.

Genki isn't an official partner. They don't work with Nintendo and so won't have signed an NDA.
Just imagine tech thats 10 + years out of date, thats the Switch 2.
We know this isn't true though.
