Nintendo Switch 2 is releasing in Brazil for $800, highest price in the world

I find it hilarious that Brazil have had for decades protective tariffs on electronics in order to try and stimulate home-grown manufacturers or at least get foreign companies to set up local manufacturing.

And that for the most part no indigenous industry has appeared and foreign companies have gone, 'nah, we're good, enjoy the markup'.

Let's keep in mind that Nintendo set these prices even before tariffs threats started. They already raised accessory prices.
They are not understanding that Switch's success was due to 2 things:

1) It was innovative
2) PRICE! Since launch, even in countries where it was higher, it was still accessible. This allowed parents to buy more than one in a household. Allowed people in school or college to get one easily.

This time around, Nintendo is making sure to charge you for every little thing they can. They are being really arrogant.

When Sony did this with the PS3, it went very bad for them. Which coincidentally, happened after they sold 150+ million PS2.

If the Switch 2 sells even a little better than the Xbox Series X/S, then gaming could go to hell, because people are dumb and buy anything at any price even when knowing they are getting ripped off.

Mario Kart shouldn't even get to 5 million (even counting bundles).

I'm not surprised .Brazil is a garbage lawless country, ruled by a convicted criminal communist squid.
Sure, just look at the number of people from the center, the right, and the financial sector that he appoints to ministries, government positions, and financial institutions to ensure so-called "governability." If our president is a communist, then the Earth is flat.
