Ubisoft's AC & Anvil Engine Technical Architect says they went the extra mile for the PS5 Pro and to "Stay tuned" for PSSR implementation

Good to see the delays got the ps5 pro version up to scratch for launch. Was clearly a focus for the dev team.
Then why did they release it at 1080p and without PSSR? I don't get it especially if the rumors are true and that pssr is coming later.

If it was a focus they'd have pssr in at launch with that 3 month delay ...

And Balanced mode and quality modes would be a lot better than base ps5s same modes

Problem with this? It's on the dev. He instead blames the hardware. So, yeah, that would be trolling.

That's like blaming powerful graphics cards for poor PC ports.

So we think ubisoft didn't go the extra mile and they've actually done a poor ps5 pro patch?

Nothing to do with the hardware at all?

I didn't say Ubi did a poor job. Clearly they didn't as DF said. I'm saying this issue would be on them. Unless you are given subpar tools to work with, a negative in your project mostly falls on you. Otherwise, where is the fault in the hardware (meaning what exists in it, not whether it could have had a better CPU)? From an undeniable, factual, perspective?

Render resolution still 1080p, the other things is another story

But it doesn't change the fact that reconstruction has cost.

1080p:

Game would be above 60fps in the video if that was the output res. Not to mention "ultra high" settings are not worth performance hit at all.

Or the game just allocates every VRAM you have.

Nope. I have vram settings maxed out and it stays around 12GB with 9/10GB real usage.

People saying that 8GB is enough for this game could be right...

So you believe all the shitty Pro upgrades are down to the developer?
And Ubi is lying?
I mean from his prospective Devs are saying they are pushing the Pro and ending up with this.
That's a bit concerning, I don't think it's trolling but I haven't kept up with his posts, but just because we're getting shit Pro Upgrades every two weeks doesn't mean the people should shut up about it otherwise they're trolling.
I do agree the devs are largely responsible, we can see what's possible with the Pro with games like Horizon & Stellar Blade.
But you can't fault someone for being disappointed with it's current output from the majority of devs and Sony needs to address it as it's not a good look for a system they're trying to sell.
I'm sure this isn't what Cerny had in mind and if he did, then he's lost it.
But PSSR is coming so maybe that'll redeem it.

Yes, because not all Pro upgrades are bad and "shit Pro upgrades every two weeks" is also hyperbolic. At the same time, this isn't even a bad port, but an area that could use improvement and that most certainly falls on the dev.

"Ubisoft is lying"? Um, they don't exactly have the cleanest track record, especially when it comes to ports. Fortunately, like I said, this isn't one of those, it just needs some improving.
