Planning a trilogy already would be a rather odd choice for a company as risk-averse as Nintendo. I mean, how many live action video game adaptations have been super successful? And how many of those starred an elf in a green tunic and funny hat?

And what would you even do with a trilogy anyway? There isn't that much source material like LOTR or Dune that you need multiple movies to adequately cover an adaptation. Every game's plot is super thin already. What would be the story beat for each trilogy? It's hard to imagine. It's even more hard to imagine given that, if Nintendo/Sony Pictures were already looking into the future, the most logical plot in Zelda lore to adapt for a movie is the Imprisoning War, and that has a natural sequel hook already (it's not called the Killing Ganon War, after all). So I could totally see them setting it up with a sequel in mind to hit the ground running if the movie is successful, but planning a trilogy already? Isn't that risky?

They have toon link for this and that design is widely accepted now, it was a no brainer. I dunno why they didn't go that route.

Kind of wish this was a CGI movie like the excellent Super Mario movie as that perfectly captured the essence of the video game it was based on in my opinion. Hard to imagine what a live action Zelda movie would look like with Link played by an actor. I'm expecting to be underwhelmed.

100% should have gone CG for this. It won't translate well to live action imo

I tend to agree, but Thomas doesn't look anywhere close to 34, has that "fairy-boy" look, and has worked with the director before, which is why I picked him.

Although, if it really is going to be a trilogy, then I guess they will have to go for someone younger.

While I thought it had incredibly weak writing, it was still amazingly gorgeous and did pretty nice things with such a thin source material. And I can imagine that kids loved it. I would really have wanted to have seen what the studio did with something lilke Zelda. It would probably have been visually spectacular and had a bit more meat on its bones story-wise.

Tom and Z are still relevant to the Gen Zers because of their age association
Chris Pratt for the Millenails and Office Space recognition

I would like the idea of this being more of a link to the past-esque, where he finds his uncle dying. Instead of finding the princess right away, link quest would be to actually find/discover who is zelda, between all the girls. Since it's a trilogy, it would be a good way to introduce new girls in every movie and keep people invested on the "mistery". It's a secret to everybody.
