I expect to get shit for this one, but here goes anyway...
Aliens: Colonial Marines
Now at least please hear me out before you annihilate me. Yes, the Gearbox bullshot trailer happened and all of that, I know, I know, trust me, we all know. And it was bad business for sure. Money was taken but "reallocated" and all of that scumbaggery. Randy Pitchford, was it? Scumbag.
But from what I recall playing, it wasn't a terrible game. There was supposedly a bad line of code that negatively affected the Aliens behavior and AI, which certainly didn't help. I think there was also a part where the Aliens spawned in waves and after X amount were killed you could progress but that part was bugged too. I could be confusing that with another game, though. The game itself was a decent enough romp as a Marine killing Aliens vibe in that universe, though. Had it been billed as just another AA game with an Aliens license and some standard levels and checkpoints and shooty shooty Aliens fare, and without the fucked up coding and without the bullshot trailer fiasco, I think history would remember that game differently as just another cool AA game in the Aliens universe. I'd love to see what they could do with it graphically and with fixed coding. I want that game to get another chance. I'm not some Aliens fanatic but I do love the first two films enough to wish for a better game than we got with that one.
