Nintendo Switch 2 has the worst launch day titles of any system in my gaming life.

Remake of a PS3 game and a demo is better than a new Mario Kart? Nah.
When that remake is BluePoint's Demon's Souls, hell yeah.

Astro's Playroom was great.

There was Spider-Man Miles Morales on launch day, too, which is my favorite of the three Insomniac Spider-Man games.

Sackboy's Adventure was pretty good, as was The Pathless.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla was a disappointment, but still a major release.

Last time it was BOTW, 1 2 Switch, Snipperclippers and 6 third party games. There's a lot more games in this lineup.

Yeah this lineup blows Switch 1 away, though I can see why someone who already games on other platforms could be less impressed as the third party games are mostly just new to Switch.

It is the number 1 seller in the switch. 70 milion I think.
It was also the best seller for Wii U, and the second best seller for Wii after Wii Sports.

Undoubtedly Mario Kart has draw.

But this will be the first time (I think?) Mario Kart is relied on alone to launch and sell a new console. It does feel like there should have been at least one other big title to launch alongside it. I won't be buying the Switch 2 at launch just for Mario Kart, though I know plenty people will.

The salt has been in full force all day lmfao

And yet, you'll see Mario Kart World selling more than any launch title on a Sony or Microsoft console ever did.

For $80 digital

Definitely an abysmal launch lineup, certainly one of the worst in Nintendo history and console history in general

Mario Kart better be a 10/10 masterpiece given it's the only game and it's $90 for crying out loud.

Shame on Nintendo for putting them in that awkward position

how old are you OP

because there have been some really bad launch lineups. Mario Kart World is at least a strong title from a first party perspective - I would say its arguably stronger than say, Luigi's Mansion or Nintendoland or Steel Diver

MK8 (both OG and switch) has sold similar to the PS5 lifetime sales, and PS5 has sold pretty well I would say

No respect for that new Shin'en Fast racing game. Excited for that... but apparently not enough to remember the name lol

Didnt the N64 launch with Pilot Wings and Mario 64? And It wasn't til a few months later that more games were starting to release?

Let's be honest and, remember how weak the first year was for the og switch? I played zelda and fucking tetris puyo puyo for months.

It might start slow but it's gonna pick up fast enough, let's wish they don't cross gen every release for years though.. that's another concern.

Don't forget the advertisement game for the Switch 2's new features, which you have to pay for.
I have zero issues with the price of the system.

But the more I think about it, their software pricing is actually hilarious and borderline diabolical.

Their development cost are way lower than everyone else's. Lol.

They will, basically every time there is a slow patch they will release the enhanced version of Switch 1 games.

How do y'all like your crow? Grilled? Baked?

Smells so good in here already.

The best thing about Neogaf predictions is you can expect the opposite.

I don't see that happening. With that price, that paywall and that game line up, I see it below 40M after 5 years. Maybe even below 30M units."

Switch has third party games and updated games too.

My PS5 game at launch was a PS4 title that was a remaster of a PS3 game. Guess that was a sign of things to come for PS5 and why I sold it shortly after. My Series X launch game was Assassins Creed and some patched games I could have already played on my One X.

Mario Kart is better than that.

You never had a ps5 to begin with. Stop lying like you always do on this forum and have been exposed of doing nonstop. You hate playstation and that's your schtick so you look for any chance to shit on them. Your act is old and worn out just like your bad takes.

How is MP 4 not a Lisa my title? Hand has been in development for years, even with the change in studios. Thought that would be a no brainer launch title to really show what the this console can so. Guess they're saving it for the Holidays.

I have a Pro now and have had a PS5 again for the last couple years. Also I am shitting on Xbox here too, it had a trash launch lineup too. At ease.

What games are blowing you away right now for day one launch? That wheelchair game? Some ports of games that are over a year now?

I've been playing on Nintendo systems since I was a toddler and have every single system. It's okay to admit when a company does stupid crap. That's how they get better. Quit gobbling it all up.

Many console launches are trash.
There's only a handful that are actually good.

For my tastes Mario Kart is pretty weak - but I know for a fact there are many people out there who are very excited about it. Its a good choice for the core Nintendo audience.

My vote for worst launch goes to the PS2.
I hated the Gamecube's launch as well.

They'll drip feed their games to have something out monthly or so. DK could be even there on day one if they wanted it to be.

I did think Metroid Prime 4 Switch 2 Ed would be there day one, to provide something more more single-player alongside MK. But presumably that'll slot into a gap a few months after launch.

Not the worst lineup, but only because some platformholders have really shit the bed in the past.

We're a long, long ways from the Dreamcast glory days, unfortunately.

It's real poor and the pricing scheme is awful. The only people that can defend it are delusional fanboys. That being said, we know that nintendo is gonna bring the software. Maybe not at launch but it'll be fine.

Definitely lacking in some titles and really putting a lot on Mario Kart World. The titles they announced didn't seem to carry much weight. Overall feels like a low level launch with remakes and S2 editions, cheap cash grabs. It's still a must have piece of hardware and I expect by end of year there people will be happy with christmas titles. Hopefully. No Mario announced yet, early days. But a head scartcher.

If they opened up alot more Gsme cube titles on launch window, maybe thast woudl help.

The game pricing is dubious at best and a real let down.Did we see how much these S2 upgrades are?

Yes, for the equivalent of $400 in todays money and the games in, todays money would be $120-140 each. Those two games were great, but the launch line up was pathetic. I finished Mario 64 the first day and grabbed all stars in the game in the first week. Had a couple of months before Killer Instinct Gold game out which was a $70 game.

Mario Kart is a system seller for me *shrug* and Donkey Kong is what five weeks after launch? For all intents and purposes a launch game.

Exactly. I wouldn't call the Switch 2 launch lineup the worst when we had N64 launch. I remember itching for something new for a very long time, especially with Mario Kart 64 coming out the same year, but months later after launch.
