Now that we have a better idea of the Switch 2 graphics capabilities... Did the Switch 2 meet your expectation?

It's what I expected, and we're at a point in video games where better graphics just is not a feature with which you can wow me. Use the hardware for some cool gameplay stuff and/or AI.

I expected a PS4. Might match XSS on some stuff, which exceeds my expectations for sure.

Based on the leaked information, including the datamined gpu clockspeeds, it's about what I expected. Whether that information turns out to be fully accurate or not.

I was expecting Steam Deck level with a smaller size. This looks significantly better than Steam Deck so this is better than I expected.

I haven't seen anything that has impressed me so far. I think the second wave of titles, and certainly first party games, will be more representative of it's capabilities.

Pleasantly surprised about docked mode, a much bigger performance differential than was the case with Switch 1 and its about as expected for handheld.

Its basically a (base) PS4 level handheld that will look nicer because of the more advanced rendering techniques available to the GPU and having more available RAM for textures.

This. I was expecting it to slightly outclass the Steam Deck thanks to developer optimization and DLSS, but what we've seen from third party ports seems like substantially more than that.

In line. It was never going to be a powerhouse, and this is kinda reasonably around what you thought would be possible

It doesn't help there is literally hardly any switch 2 games available though.

I expected ps4-deck in handheld and a inbetween ps4-ps4 pro docked, but seeing an early build of Cyberpunk 2077 port that looks almost the same as current gen consoles with a 40fps mode and the street fighter 6 port making ps5 owners questioning the power of their console was something out of my bingo card

With all the doomsday people, I was expecting lower than PS4 docked mode, and Tom Warren's tweet didn't help with this feeling.

And now I am geniunly impressed, it's way above my expectations. I mean 120fps support was in the hopium territory, not an actual thing they would do for Metroid Prime 4

It passed my expectations tbh.

Looking forward to games built around all the Switch 2 hardware features.

So far it exceeded my expectations BUT we need more data (i.e. games) and other outlets looking at it with showing us direct feed

Graphics are OK, Nintendo games heavenly lean more on art direction than fidelity, i have other system for multiplat games.

I expected way less than what we got. There could have been a million rumors stating they'd go for 120hz, and I still wouldn't have believed you.

This, I was expecting a PS4 Pro graphics when docked, but the Switch 2 looks like can go a bit further.

In line with expectations. Its inbetween a PS4 and a PS4 Pro with some PS5 niceties to it. Or for Current-Gen, a Xbox Series S.

Also diminishing returns, so the Switch 2 looks like what the Switch 1 for the core gamer could've been if Nintendo played the traditional power dynamic like Sony and Microsoft.

I am not sure why Tom Warren finds it funny that one of the takes is that the Switch 2 is as powerful as a PS4 Pro. I think that's fairly reasonable all things considered.

It can be substantially more than that when comparing Steam Deck to Switch 2 'docked'. When compared 1:1 as handhelds Steam Deck's technical specifications are close and even a bit superior in quite a few areas.

He knows pretty well the video game community and we know pretty well his intentions with that Tweet.

This is an build with just 7 week of work according to CDPR… I think is pretty clear that the Switch 2 is considerably above the Steam Deck in terms of graphics capabilities.

More then i expected to be honest, really feel like they went a bit overboard actually. It's there first platform in a long time where modern games are playable on.

I expected first party games to be about this, maybe a bit more graphically advanced. The fact that Cyberpunk is running was a nice surprise. Maybe ue5 games will also run then?

I haven't really kept up with what a handheld systems are capable of at the moment, but based on Mario Kart and Donkey Kong, I think it's a mixed bag. MK looks better than I thought it would DK looks worse than I would expect something like that to look.

Cyberpunk is a surprise, but 30-40 fps (as I understand it) means I wouldn't play it there anyway. But, undeniably, I'm surprised at SFVI looking so good versus Series S.

I was very pessimistic about everything and even doubted it would be using DLSS to any greater extent. I thought a everything 4k was out of the question and that the performance would be well below the PS4, and that it would also be reflected in the price to keep the costs down, but boy was I wrong. I was wrong about absolutely everything and no one is happier than me about it! :messenger_grinning_smiling:

To me the performance and the graphics shown so far is mind-blowing, absolutely amazing from a Nintendo console and so much more than I ever expected. Just wow!
