MK world, Donkey Kong and Metroid look pretty good. SF 6 and Cyberpunk are decent enough too.
Hoping to see more improvements for older games though as well. I shouldn't expect it i guess, but I'd love to see stuff like Astral Chain and MH Rise running at 60, stuff like that.

I'm pleasantly surprised at what they managed to squeeze into this little box. I certainly expected less that's for sure. When it came to keeping up(even somewhat) to Sony and Microsoft, I gave up on Nintendo trying to push graphical tech within the hardware a long time ago.

I'm happy.

Now just to be clear, I still expected Donkey Kong to look even better than it does already. But I know the possibility is there.

Tbh, i'm surprised CP is there, and if CP cann be portef there, there should be more surprises later on.

I care little of what third parties can do with the hardware and am more curious about what Nintendo is going to do with it. They pulled miracles on the Switch and that was basically a down clocked GT750.

DKB is a good start but it's clearly using the same engine that Mario Odyssey used just at a high resolution. Metroid Prime 4 is in the same boat, though it does have better lighting, particles, textures and shaders while running at 4K60.

I'd like to see a Paper Mario that uses DLSS/RT as both Switch Paper Mario games look fantastic

Daisy is the most lame Nintendo character.

I just hope emulation is easy so I can bump up the resolution. Finally got BoTW running at 4k 60fps and yeah, that's how it was meant to be played.

I would say so, but don't see a reason to get one.
Steamdeck = indies and smaller games
PC = everything else
Switch 2= ?? Nintendo games only for $$$, they aren't that good

I would say Switch 2 should have been a bit more powerful docked as already PS5 and Xbox SX are struggling with modern games.
It's going to be in a weird performance spot just like the switch and for a lot of people it's not going to make sense to get one unless they absolutely need Nintendo games (which personally I never understand the hype, must be childhood nostalgia or something).

I'm not graphic whore like majority of people on GAF but I'm personally very happy with Mario Kart World's scale and destruction system on Donkey Kong.

I cant with to see what will Monolith Soft will do with Switch 2.

From what I've seen I expected s better then switch and that's what we got , it's a case now of seeing what Nintendo do with the hardware as long as for next yr they don't do a Sony and we just get switch upgrades , I thought Nintendo would show more then just a new Mario kart and donkey Kong , but we will see come June when this is out and donkey Kong due to what Nintendo keeping for second half of 2025

Yes. It's a PS4 when docked and below the Xbox One when undocked.
Yeah, except its not. I let you think about it for a bit.

Should have stayed lurking, 56 posts-poster and suddenly since March active again.
Overpriced too.
What isn't? What are you comparing it with?
Nintendo games are high resolution but don't even use full deferred rendering on the Switch 2.
The bolded is so random, its clowncore logic.

Mario Kart World looks good but the lighting is virtually unchanged from Wii U.
You say this and you say it lacks full deferred rendering. In other words you don't know what you are saying but you use simplistic platitudes to carry the agenda across.

I had set very low expectations beforehand so I was quite surprised to see it capable of 4K and 120fps. Of course, not many games will be able to make use ofthose, but I just like that it can be pushed there. It has lots of little tech things going on so it will be superinteresting to see what Nintendo does with it. But I'll wait for the revision with better battery time and hopefully OLED.

About met my expectations, but I was hoping for a little more juice. At that price point, I would have wanted them to be on 4nm and offer 16GB-18GB of RAM.

Rumors pegged it at PS4 Pro level, which I found hard to believe. Yet here we are, months later, looking at a device with DLSS and ray-tracing support which can run Cyberpunk with the Phantom Liberty expansion and Street Fighter 6 with even better image quality than the Series S version. Fair to say it's exceeded my expectations in many ways.

I say we won't know until we get them in our hands and have some REAL comparisons.

However, looks, how I kinda expected it. Like a PS4. So there ya go. Maybe it can do fancier things tech wise than a real PS4, to push it CLOSER to an XSS. But it can't in any way go pound for pound with a XSS real world speaking.

Actually a bit over. I thought it would be around XB1, or somewhere in-between XB1 and PS4, but it seems to be closer to PS4 (maybe even slightly surpassing it).

In line with my expectations, which were quite ambitious: 2/3 of an XSS.With the added RAM and DLSS, there will be several instances where the Switch 2 games will actually look on par or even better than the XSS.

For a sub-500 bucks portable device with 2-4 hours of battery life and some nice additions such as the mouse-con, I consider this a win. Game prices seem high but I am pretty sure that they will end up being between 60 to 70, so the same as the competitions.

To be honest it's going to be Nintendo's first party offerings that will push sales. And considering the jump from the previous hardware we are in for some great looking games.

Pretty disappointed. Doesn't seem any better than my rog ally. And if it's 20ah battery running at 10w we'll yeah, that ain't great.

Not really shocked. Not a huge fan of DLSS or any type of upscaling, but that's what you are going to get for the price and form factor.

The more gaming advances the more tricks are required when using underpowered hardware which equates to lower IQ and artifacting. Artifacting is the new aliasing.

Pretty much around what my expectations were, and not surprised to see it looking better than the Series S given DLSS just doesn't smear the image quality like basic AA solution do now.

Also confirms that again handhelds are just becoming more viable as we hit diminished returns on what better hardware can do. Switch 1 was such a compromise at launch vs what this one can do out of the gate, and more people will likely be fine with multi-plat titles on it.

It's a handheld form factor. Nvidia scaling voodoo slop combined with Nintendo magic could produce some really good looking stuff I'd imagine. I certainly didn't expect more.

It's more than I was expecting. The 120 fps screen, in particular, could see some beautiful games.

Bit less enthusiastic about all the other nonsense though.

I expected old dated graphics. That's what I got.
I think with Switch we'll get old graphics with new games. Which would be a step up from my PS5 which has been mostly new graphics with old games.

way above

GPU being a PS4 + modern features is really impressive and will be about PS4 pro in reality then

The CPU seems WAY above PS4 also .. justrunning TOTK with the massive physics stuff locked 60fps is impressive

I will be more impressed when I start seeing ports of next gen games, things that the PlayStation 5 and x series x are pushing out, black myth, Silent Hill etc

Most of the games that it's done and quite well, might I point out thus far have been crossgen games

That having been said I personally expect this thing to punch well above its weight.

Especially once people start coming to terms with its programming, and getting all they can out of the little marvel.

I just hope Nintendo wisens up and lowers prices or they could find themselves with less sales than they anticipated, although maybe that won't be a bad thing cuz it might wake them up all a 3DS.

Met my expectations graphically but I was also expecting 100% compatibility with Switch 1 games so I was kind of surprised that didn't happen.
