Bungie's Marathon set for April 12th reveal

I see people saying they expect something happens when the battery status reaches 100% on the Twitch stream, is this confirmed or just hope?

Seems like it will reach 100% around 11:00 EST, 25 minutes from this post

I don't think this will be just a trailer. I'm expecting a Vidoc as well at the very least.
Yeah they definitely gonna talk about a bit of everything, like art, sound, music, gameplay, etc.

They said something cool was happening before the main event.

Yeah sounds like a decent blow out. Cross is interviewing the dev's after the event. So definitely more than just a trailer.

Btw they're showing the environments in stream, kinda like a tease.

Some look sick imo. I'm also hoping they have a day/night cycle.

What previous Bungie GAAS dumpster fire do you refer?
The previous decade of mismanagement of what should've been a slamdunk. Terrible launch, terrible dlcs, terrible sequel, terrible dlcs. It's only kept alive on literal addiction, and raids.

Those environments look pretty cool, I am intrigued

Sadly will miss the reveal as we are traveling into the Smokey Mountains and I will lose signal in about an hour but will catch up later when at the cabin

What are the games you enjoy that are closest to Marathon? IE: FPS and / or PvP

Honestly not sure as I don't really have any idea what Marathon is, main thing that's grabbing my attention as I have no prior experience with it is just that art style in the aforementioned trailer. Really found it fresh (though thinking about it now, The Finals which was quite cool had a similar but maybe not so extreme vibe).

I'll be watching tonight, so hopefully it impresses.

For FPS with me it's the usual stuff: COD4/MW2/MW'19, BLOPS II, R6 Vegas 1/2, Killzone 2 & Shadowfall, TitanFall 2, Battlefield 3/4/BC2 etc.

This might be the greatest game reveal of all time.

They're finally showcasing big games with the proper focus. No more sharing the stage with Yakuza 35.

This is the way forward.

I do agree that bungie new game reveals are an event. I know people love shitting on bungie (I've done it in the past too due to my love/hate relationship with Destiny) but they're still one of the best FPS studios in the market and I do love my competitive shooters.

What they've shown so far from art, music, audio seems pretty sick but who knows. We'll find out in a few minutes.

Gamers complain too much, about anything so I expect that is exactly what they will do here.

It's going to be another GAAS game in the pile of games from the same "genre" that tried hard and didn't get far

Worst purchase ever, way to go Sony, lmao
The people bothered by this have liked your post. :D

At the end of the day, it's a new Bungie game series. Literally the first time in a decade.
I still remember how hyped I was for Destiny, followed leaks, rumors and other stuff like 4 years before it was even announced.
Also remember that back then, IGN got first exclusive access to the game with Ryan McCaffrey having articles and videos about it before every other news outlet.
By mistake someone at IGN released some info at the wrong time, a few hours before the NDA lifted and I was probably the first to find it and started sharing it on twitter back then, it was crazy.
Then the gameplay reveal at E3 came and people were super excited. Just to think that happened like in 2013, crazy how fast time goes by.

Now I'm super excited for this game too despite completely forget about it for almost 2 years (pretty much since seeing the reveal trailer). Hopefully it doesn't disappoint.

Just for those without Extraction Shooter experience.

Genre is scarier than Resident Evil. It's like a multi-player horror game.
Now imagine this but with the enviroments they've been showing on stream. If the gameplay is top tier like we all expect it to be (its a bungie standard anyway) this game gonna be fun as shit.

Actually true.

Did anyone of you play The Cycle Frontier? I'm hoping this is like that but... well, better lol.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure this is going to be better. The gameplay on The Cycle wasn't that good to begin with.

I also bought Marauders early access and while I had fun with it it's still not the game I was looking for.

Basically if you want something good it seems that Tarkov is the game to get but the thing is, it might be a bit too much for most people, it's too hardcore.

Bet Marathon will be a good mix between accessibility and fun.

Hopefully they haven't tried to make something that appeals to everyone that ends up pleasing nobody.

Very tough to get a game like this right, lots of moving parts.
