I thought the purples were swearing against anything Microsoft these days anyway.

Enjoy man. I'm loving mine. I basically got it for free, I just sold the regular PS5 I was using and the Series X which was collecting dust.Haha, I wouldn't call it a steal as I've just bought one and I'm deffo feeling it in the wallet a touch![]()
Makes it a bit easier to swallow for sure, though.
It is possible...

without question. They do this all the time on diff things such as this. And these companies knew this, which is why they are taking advantage of the narrative situation.
The only goal was PC built from scratch to match $750 price point and performance. That GPU if maintained and not overclocked foolishly will likely outlive new PS5 Pro by half a decade. The refurbishing of a GPU by Micro Center affiliates holds a lot more weight than the shit that passes for refurbished in GameStop and the like. You can buy refurb PS5 Pros as well though.

"market conditions" makes it super easy for all companies to raise prices and no one question them

Covid opened the floodgates for these things. By design of course.cough COVID cough
Anyway, last friday we went to Olive Garden and the greeter (young man) saw my son's G-Cloud and was asking about it. He then asked if I saw the pricing for the Switch 2 and the $80 game prices. He wasn't happy about it, I imagine a lot of people aren't going to be buying as many games at these prices.
Well that's most certainly one opinion to have.No it won't lmao. The only thing anyone's going to learn is that online outcry doesn't represent what happens in real life. I'm surprised people haven't learned that already.
Prices will go up, whether it's because of tarriffs or greed, and the new generation of consoles will still shatter records. GTA VI might end up costing $100 and it'll still go on to become the best selling game of all time.
All the talk you see online about being priced out of the hobby, about how people are going to cut back spending on new releases, always ends up amounting to nothing in the real world. Preorders for the $1,000 PS6 will sell out in seconds.
It was a toss up between new 4060, new 7600XT, and refurbished 3070 at the same price. Even if I could personally tweak the former two to run multiplats better than PS5 Pro, the hardware of 3070 is more comparable in my opinion. At the same settings there is only about a 5 frame difference.I didn't say you didn't meet the "goal". But every time this comes up the only PCs that seem to meet it are using used or refurbed parts. Nothing wrong with pointing that out.

Not an opinion.Well that's most certainly one opinion to have.
It's not a good one, but hey, at least you took out some time of your day to write... well... that.
You should really get Astrobot bundle (and disk drive if needed) right now before possible increases. There is a 0.00% shot I pay $400 bones for a shitty S
and 0.00% shot I pay $600 for an X
yet I am 100% buying a current gen console for GTA 6
WONDER what I will get?! ball in your court Sony
Looking more and more likelyYou should really get Astrobot bundle (and disk drive if needed) right now before possible increases.
Thats totally ur call, just saying nowadays u can easily buy topend pre-build gaming pc, everything pre-installed and ready for u to just buy games/play them, using ur gamepad(ps4,ps5 or xbox one, hell or other ones too, games on pc play well on joypads nowadays). No but money was never an issue when it comes to PC gaming. I just can't stand gaming on a PC. I'd pay more for a console than a gaming PC just cause it's much easier to use.
In reality even if PC is say $250-300 more, that's alright since you don't have to pay for online gaming. That saves you $200ish over 3 years.I didn't say you didn't meet the "goal". Then, you better buy that PS5 now before the price increaseThere is a 0.00% shot I pay $400 bones for a shitty S

In a PERFECT world, Sony chooses not to increase and Black Friday see's a PS5 Pro w/whatever game for $599Then, you better buy that PS5 now before the price increase

So that means you can pick up a new 5060Ti 16GB (or 9060xt 16GB) for around $490 (from Microcenter as an example) or probably even less in Europe and still build a decent PC for $1000 or so. That is going to be around Pro + Disk Drive (since you don't have key shops it helps with game prices) + 3 years of lowest level of PS+ sub.
Agreed. But for my sake I want them to try lolthe issue here is that they are the leader in this race and don't have to try... so them also raising prices will probably not negatively affect them, and they know it.

If they stock piled even 2-3 million atleast they could probably go a quarter or two without announcing anything. In a PERFECT world, Sony chooses not to increase and Black Friday see's a PS5 Pro w/whatever game for $599

Wait, are you saying a Giant Corporation LIED in court to get an acquisition through and usher major consolidation in the industry!?

U can play pc games using ur 60-70inches oled tv too, from ur confy couch, ofc ur call in the end, just saying dont look at modern day pc gaming same way u looked at it 10/20/30years ago, its very plug and play.
Sorry to hear that, bro, personally never had any trouble with controllers using pc, ps4 or cheap xbox one alike from no-brand, and obviously 0 problem with discord either.Building a PC and all of that stuff is a non-issue for me. The issues come after that. I've already detailed all my issues with PC gaming ad nauseum on this site. A quick run down though is my Xbox controller would disconnect all the time and require me to uninstall it from device manager, reboot, to get it working again. I bought a whole new adapter and controller to see if that was the issue and it still happened but only like once a month. Going from a game to chatting with my friends in discord is way to difficult to do with a controller on PC. It all needs to be integrated like it is on PS. I can easily go to home screen, join a party, then go back to my game. The cheating in online games is absolutely ridiculous on PC.
I just had enough of it and went back to consoles once PS started having consistent 60 FPS games which was really all I needed from my console.
Luckily egg visited the tories who leaned on the 'independent' CMA and all of their concerns turned to dust.

And yeh 60fps stable is gamechanger, next gen ps6 will have even more stable 60fps games coz amd cpu's made massive progress from days of zen2 archi, add on top better ai upscaling and rt performance, and we gonna get beast of a console holidays 2028, expensive one but really a beast![]()
+ It's not much more expensive to build a PC around a 5070, the prices have dropped a lot this last weekend, and even the 60 series fares are better (than base PS5). Yes, it's much expensive, but not prohibitelyPC hardware prices have skyrocketed. You are not building a PC for $750 that is going to run games as well as the PS5 Pro.
Everything on steam still seems to be pretty much the same price esp if you them on key stores
would have been a great opportunity for some people to come over to PC if GPUs weren't also an arm and a leg now
Nvidia GPUs are up cause of AI. Amd not as much. and I would never touch AMD, but that's always an option for a console user. MS raised prices not just due to components and silicon, but a lot of different factors and poor business decisions in recent years. For example they lost over 5 billion on hololens.Consoles are expensive because components and silicon is expensive, just the same happens in PC, so there wasn't such an opportunity.
Key stores are mostly piratery for what I have heard.
It doesn't matter anyway. Even with all the acquisitions, Microsoft's share of the gaming space is still single digits.Wait, are you saying a Giant Corporation LIED in court to get an acquisition through and usher major consolidation in the industry!?

Dude, even an RTX 3070 manages to have better results than the PS5 Pro in several situations, I find it hilarious when people compare the PS5 Pro with an RTX 4070, let alone an RTX 5070 as I've seen more than once on this forum+ It's not much more expensive to build a PC around a 5070, the prices have dropped a lot this last weekend, and even the 60 series fares are better (than base PS5). Yes, it's much expensive, but not prohibitely
+ No monthly subscription required to play online
+ Games are much cheaper
+ You can do much more than just playing
If Final Fantasy VII Part 3 released day 1 on PC, I'd sell my PS5.

It doesn't matter if long term it ends up being cheaper, most people look at the price of entry. Also, PC gaming still comes with tons of maintenece like making sure all your drivers and settings are optimized which most gamers are just not interested in dealing with.+ It's not much more expensive to build a PC around a 5070, the prices have dropped a lot this last weekend, and even the 60 series fares are better (than base PS5).
