Deputy Prime Minister is a nothing position in the UK. You give it to someone you want to make feel important, but actually sideline.
It also makes them less likely to backstab you as they have something to lose (prestige - despite the non-role, and extra salary and perks).

We can see from the annual change on payrolled employees across the UK is showing that since their tax changes have kicked in the private sector is starting to lay off people because of the hikes in business taxes.
What sectors are their policys benefitting? That's right, the public sector, charities, unions at the expense of the private sector - which is what brings in the tax reciepts to fund the budget.
So essentially, they are classic lefties, wreck business, private workers, entrepeneurs whilst giving a helping hands to their union public sector quango buddies.
The state is ballooning under them as it does under leftism.
They said country first, party second, but it's very clearly party first policy decisions from them.

Prolonged Medieval torture would be several times worse than prison or immediate death.
Not saying that it would defeat crime, but i would think twice before committing a crime if finishing in the wheel that slowly turn all your limbs backwards for 6 months is the possible prize.

Sadly rather meaningless in the UK these days, and nothing will change while Labour is in power, because they are part of the same well-oiled machine which has permitted hard left rot to take root in police management and the courts, for this scandal to occur in the first place, and for it to be covered up.
I think Labour's days are numbered as it is, and I think they know it too, but we still have four more years of them and all the tricks they can pull to make things difficult for the truth to emerge.
I'd say it's been palpable for quite some time, but now the mask has fully dropped. They really don't care about hiding their biases and unethical policies anymore.

On the news earlier it said 2/3rds of the suspects didn't have their ethnicities taken, but after speaking to 3 of the police regions it was mainly people of "Asian descent"

Yes, they pay people smugglers to get on a boat from Calais to England via the English Channel.
Although according to the Home Office, 81% of those who cross over are men, sometimes young children are also put onto these boats. This is incredibly irresponsible because the Channel can be rough and people can and do die trying to make the crossing.
The question I have is why risk your life and your children's life to come to England, especially when you're already in a safe country like France? In some cases, people cross a number of safe, European nations to risk their lives in the crossing. Do they really believe this is the land of milk and honey, where they'll be greeted with keys to a house and well paid jobs as soon as they get off the boat? It's the only reason I can think of why somebody would take such a risk.
However, not all the people are from war zones. Some of them are from nations like Albania and come over to work for criminal gangs. Once they get here, they lie about where they're from and they're reason for claiming asylum. They then get let loose in the country. Albanian drug gangs will also recruit migrants in Northern French camps and offer to pay for their crossing.
