Maybe its for all the korean/chinese developers Gaf has been endlessly circlejerking over for the last few years.Headcount is barely changing. They just applied for over 6,000 H1B visas.

They have to be a bit stricter, even as a 3rd party. Sega did the same thing. It's pretty much common sense. A 1st party platform with 30% passive income on everything and a system to sell can take more risks on niche products. This is what I always criticized Sony for not doing. You can do more of the new IPs and more commercially experimental stuff. Now they have less room for that. It's a sad reality. Hopefully they preserve as much as they can. Call of Duty revenue is absolutely helping them preserve some of it, instead of all of that money just going back to the Activision black hole. That was the excuse last time around, isn't hardware an afterthought for MS Gaming now that their focus is on third-party publishing? Why would it dictate these baffling moves that will directly impact on their third-party pipeline? Why were we even told that they've been at their most successful time ever for publishing high-performing tentpole releases (Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remastered and Forza Horizon 5) on PS5?
The transition already happened 1.5 years ago, and MS has been, since then, benefitting from the success of the likes of ABK's Candy Crush and BLOPS4. The Xbox Series utterly collapsing on its market has definitely nothing to do with King being targeted for layoffs here.
After what Turn 10 did to Forza and what COD has turned into
It's still early lets wait and see what happens. It sounds like the hardware people are mostly safe which is surprising looking at sales figures
Damn 50% of turn 10.
BOOM

Btw going on now in COD
Yeah holy shit, Turn 10 will be a support studio for Playground now.
They will actually become a ForzaTech engine support studio at this point. What a sad end.RIP Turn 10. Thanks for turning my beloved sim racer into live service slop.
I prefer FM over Horizon personally. Super rough.BOOM

I loved FM as well but this last one was just badI prefer FM over Horizon personally. Super rough.
Doesn't surprise me about Turn 10. The last few mainline Forza Motorsport games weren't well received by players and in a multiplatform future Forza Motorsport has no future. They'll never dethrone Gran Turismo on PlayStation and PC has a ridiculous amount of racing sims.
Might as well roll the rest of the studio into Playground Games so Forza Horizon can continue to be the marquee arcade racing game.
Because MS refuses to just bow out gracefully, trim the fat and focus purely on software. Instead, they still believe they can have a significant place in the industry as a 3rd party publisher AND as a quasi-hardware service based brand (i.e. they don't want to give up Gamepass)Let's....let's not do this?
Compared to MS, SEGA's transition felt rather orderly and matter-of-fact. Nothing drawn out, everything upfront. I think they deserve a lot of credit for making the transition rather swift and seamless.
Also, I don't remember them closing up tons of studios. They just let go of people from the Western branches related to hardware & marketing, and maybe STI if that was even still a thing. But they kept all their dev studios and in fact they made some new ones, like Hitmaker, with members from other teams that were getting restructured.
Just smile and nod.I don't understand what's going on.
Isn't "seems" written that way in English or something
Yeah, there was 7. The one out now is technically FM8, they just dropped the number from the title as part of their quasi-reboot.I think the last one I played was 6? Was that the one before the latest one or was there another one after?
Halo Studios are safe for now
I like it. Still playing it actually. None of the cringe banter from Horizon. Open world doesn't do a ton for me for racers. It's alright, but I prefer tracks. The handling is great.I loved FM as well but this last one was just bad

I haven't tried it since the first week or so of launch, guess I should give it another shotI like it. Still playing it actually. None of the cringe banter from Horizon. Open world doesn't do a ton for me for racers. It's alright, but I prefer tracks. The handling is great.
They already got gutted post Bonnie Ross' departure. Their fate depends on the success of their next game.Hope Halo Studios are safe, there are PS ports to do.
Damn really was wanting to see more of this one
After the last few FM games it's clear T10 are not the main Forza developer anymore as PG have taken FH and made it the flagship Forza. While I thought FM was a good game it's become safe and boring and it's obviously not performing anywhere near Horizon level's.I prefer FM over Horizon personally. Super rough.
