Hmm, i would say.... no.Is Borderland 4 the new Crysis?
Is Borderland 4 the new Crysis?
Doesn't Arc Raiders uses UE5.. nobody complained how the beta ran.. and that game looks fantastic unlike bl4.To me, the craziest thing is not UE5 itself, its how absolutely terrible of a job developers are doing to actually optimize with UE5.
Its definitely partially the engine as a problem, but Sonic Racing Crossworlds uses UE5 (no lumen or any RT stuff at all) and runs on a literal toaster (my 9070 on a HTPC setup was only using like 30% of the GPU at 4k 60fps max settings), so clearly shit like Lumen is just a complete performance burden and should be avoided by most devs until Epic fixes how crap it runs.
Explain to me how BL3 runs at 200 vs 40 BL4 on the same hardware, when games look nearly identical.Gotta support Randy on this one. Sorry guys.
The reality is that code-wise its 99% the same as the console builds. Engine patch-outs to API's and network back ends aside, its basically going to be identical.
If its running unexceptionally on those machines, then there's fundamentally nothing wrong. And as it seems that these complaints are mainly coming from the PC side... it appears to me standing in a neutral corner (afforded by my disinterest in the product and franchise) the problem appears to be that your hardware in actuality isn't as powerful as you thought it was.
Bottom line: Lower your expectations, and turn those settings down until you get acceptable performance.

I think Randy is having a bit of a meltdown over twitter right now.
If you have 3-year old GPU that cost's you 850euro 3 years ago.. then Borderlands 4 is going to play nice on it. People needs to stop overreacting already..runs fine on a ps5 and ps5 pro
if you reading randy... stay randy
thanks for promoting console gaming instead of nvidia
(thanks for making my 850 euro gpu fucking useless in 3 years) so i can use it to play indie games

borderlands 3 didn't run right on it on launch 3 years ago.If you have 3-year old GPU that cost's you 850euro 3 years ago.. then Borderlands 4 is going to play nice on it. People needs to stop overreacting already..
Too many PC configurations and hardware. Just play it on console.

Console version, PS5 Pro even is running well below 60fps:
I mean I've got 11h played already and it's a great time, hasn't impacted my experience at all.OOF. This is definitely see you in six months situation.
Uh, whos gonna tell the him?Borderlands 4 is a premium game made for premium gamers
Console version, PS5 Pro even is running well below 60fps:
Except the performance is still bad on the best hardware money can buy.Gotta support Randy on this one. Sorry guys.

You know how you read about different games and groups of people will always say something like, "the game runs great. I dont see the big deal."
Ya can't trust some because 30fps feels and looks fine to them with below 1080p res.
Shit take as always when it comes to PC.Gotta support Randy on this one. Sorry guys.

Knowing him he probably runs the PR departmentSomeone in his PR department should take his social media away.
Someone ask him if he is taking everyone's bonuses again?
Someone give him id softwares number please![]()
"Code your own engine and show us how it's done, please"
dude I wish id would license idTech it runs fucking butter compared to UE5Someone give him id softwares number please
This is actually the best statement I've heard him make. The premium gamers line sounds bad but in context he was comparing cell phone gamers to someone new pc gamers.
Doesn't excuse his game not being optimized well for the recommended specs of course.
ThisTop lad Randy
Poors need to GTFO
Yeah you need around rtx 3060 to have same experience to ps5 in this game which is too much.I'm amazed that a game that looks as bad as Borderlands 4 runs like shit even on newer PCs.

Yes SSD. Upscaling and frame gen sucks imo, great if you want a muddy picture but nothing else. But yes I've tried with it on too. Frame rate is understandable for my specs, it's the UE5 stutters that ruin the game. Even playing on a 5080 using GeForce Now I get it at times. You do have DLSS and 2x Framegen on, right?
And the game is installed on an SSD, not platter drive?
Yeah man, dunno why you'd invest in Nvidia hardware if you refuse to turn on the core techYes SSD. Upscaling and frame gen sucks imo, great if you want a muddy picture but nothing else.
