Crossing my fingers Yotei is a commercial failure. Despite the fact it looks like DLC for the first game, I got a feeling a ton of twisted sister developers worked on the project. The developer "fired " probably represents a good portion of the team. Their lack of a public statement after their employees actions prove that to me.

I think underperforming is guaranteed. PR should be atrocious, with the buzz fading pretty quickly afterward.

Isn't it funny, the studio that no longer understands the importance of dialogue within their games also doesn't understand the importance of dialogue in real life either.

Funny how there's a clear correlation here. The studios with staff who are nasty enough to revel in an innocent man's death publicly, are all incapable of making good games anymore.

And this its not all because of their ideology.. well it is.. but in another form .. this ideology preaches inclusivity and toxic positivity... so this direct changes hiring practices that no long value merit, and changes brainstorming since you cant be too much negative to certain ideads or maybe no negative at all. I won't share it but have a family encounter that happened this weekend for posting Charlie praying God living though him. Wasn't a video at a Trump rally or at the White House, just him in one of his tours. My cousin's dad, who I'm in good terms with, posts something about an opinion that he literally was misinformed about what CK said and was basically justifying being shot because he didn't agree with some positions.

I actually spoke to my cousin (the son of the one who posted what I described) and he told me they were relentless Trump haters and pretty much lost. My cousin is like me, a free thinker common sense person.

I said this in the gaming side thread and mean it, I have not changed, the party lines have.

As Tommy Lee Jones said to Jim Carrey, I can't sanction that buffoonery.

Let me also say something that I observed today on the pbd podcast. Adam one of the guys on there had a good point. They were talking about that TMZ video that the employees were laughing at the background. What should concern you is that the culture allows these people to have the empowerment to even applaud something like somebody getting killed. That is something to really think about.

If you think about how social media has been about the acceptance of anything on the left, anytime you post anything remotely conservative they have a monopoly on being able to say why are you posting that or giving you a grief about it.

The fact that these teachers and Hollywood or anybody else in positions of stature, the fact that they feel like they can speak like that shows the empowerment and how perverse than one sided it has become to speak so extremist to justify the killing of a man, that should let you see the real problems in society. That is one of the pillars of the society going downhill.

Those of you who think these are just random lone developers and aren't reflective of these entire companies need to wake the hell up. This is every western developer and this is 100% why Sucker Punch hasn't made a statement. It's also why instead of Bethesda addressing their developer, who has been going off about Charlie Kirk for almost a week now, they posted this instead. This is who they are, through and through.

Exactly and there is no quick fix. During DEI and me too they fired a ton of "cis white male " talent to replace with this new generation of talent. The result has been a worse and more expensive product for all of us.

Greedy companies like Nintendo and EA are racking in the loot for now but people eventually get tired of being ripped off.

It's a shame it has to come to giant events and being martyrs kind of thing, but in a way this just strengthens the right. Let's face it, it's not making the left looking any better.

So when it comes to voting for next elections, the right will win or get even more seats (if they still lose in your country). That was a common trend with recent elections the past year. The right is gaining and the left is losing.

And that's due to lots of moderates who will go with the tide and vote for the side that has the best policies and least crazy. And that says a lot since Trump is already a loud and crazy guy. And he still won. The entrenched leftie or rightie is still rooting for their side no matter what. It's the flip flopping people who make the difference. And I dont get a sense the avg moderate is a wacky person who loves politicians getting shot. So he/she will just pick the least crazy side to reduce risk of trouble.

And the more crazy things happen against good nature (a black mark for the left since they love chaos), it just makes people notice the right as being a better fit and more chill. And once weird stuff happens like killings, people laughing at it, trans guys winning high school tournaments etc.... those are the types of things that get shown over and over again by the right making the left look insane. And it works.

So as tragic as these events are, it helps the world notice in plain view which side is more crazy and which is more chill.

To your point though… there is definitely something to be said about the cultural pressure (that actually hew much closer in ways to conservative values if we were to examine them holistically) and expectations placed upon Asian societies.
