I thought everything was an Xbox these days. But this hunk of shite won't play my true Xbox catalogue. Xbox xbox360 Xbox one & series. So no fuck off.

This is a tiny niche product in an already tiny niche

The Steam Deck is by far the most successful of the PC handhelds and it's only sold around 4 million tops
Wait, I thought they all are going to kill the Switch 2.

Seriously though the price is too high. I'd love to get a portable gamepass device for the kids but for 600 bucks for shitty specs, nah. Switch 2 for the car and PCs for gamepass.

Just got a MSI Claw 8 Ai+, so definitely not.
I did consider it, but the larger screen and all the good feedback on the Claw made me decide on that one this time.

InDidn't know Portal can run steam, egs etc natively.

Lenovo Legion does it too, does it make it an Xbox?

😂😂😂😂

Lenovo Legion is also not a PS Portal. Like that, this Rog Ally can play native PC games from multiple storefronts. Neither of these are consoles.

Don't let console warrior-ism deprive you of basic thoughts.

I still think it's a hilarious argument that it doesn't count as an Xbox because you can't play all your Xbox games natively...
imagine if Sony announced the PSP and said "btw. you only have access to around 1487 PS2 games on this, but not all of them, and also they are ports and not 100% the same as on PS2", and people were online calling it not a real PlayStation because of that.

it's a PC

it's objectively not an Xbox except in name.

I am not claiming otherwise. I am just saying that the "native game" thing is a retarded argument. handhelds never played the console equivalent games natively outside of something like the Sega Nomad.
you couldn't play your NES games on the GameBoy/Color. you couldn't play your SNES games on the GameBoy Advance. you couldn't play N64 games on the DS. and you also couldn't play GameCube games on the 3DS.

not being able to natively play home console games is the default state of handheld game consoles. systems that did let you play home console games are a tiny minority, and were usually a revision of said home console, just packed into a smaller shell with a screen.

My Steam Deck is serving me well so far. Mostly stick to rogue likes on it so I don't need the power at the moment. Maybe in a couple of years I'll upgrade.

XBOX should start selling stickers for devices that can load their store front.

If you can read this message, your using an XBOX.

Who approved this shit seriously. They've lost their minds and it's funny to see the zealots just follow suit. Are shareholders and management this dumb? to believe this shit?

I'd rather get a second PS5 Pro for the bedroom. I wouldn't be caught dead outdoors with anything other than a sleek ass PSPGo/Vita/DS/3DS.

Fans of the brand are missing an "Xbox" tattoo.

Phill will get an Xb_X tattoo on his ass and go around saying "I'm an Xbox now."

I think backwards compatibility is pretty much ingrained in Xbox brand. Thats what a lot of people associate it with these days.

For future games, sure, it will play everything.

Those who will get it, enjoy. I still have too many expenses for me to possibly buy it. Maybe if there was a big exclusive like new Halo or Gears, maybe I could have use again a credit card. But please, those who bought it, give us your personal review of the hardwares capability and games performance.

It isn't a must have device.

Just something cool to enjoy games on. Some that you likely wont play otherwise.

Having limited power drives players towards certain types of games.

So it's for tech enthusiast and with the cash to burn.
Its in a weird spot honestly.

For $1000 these days, you can get laptops with oled screens and get 120 fps on it easily.

Getting these handhelds is best for less demanding games.

Then it feels weird to spend that much for a indi / retro machine.

I expect this form factor will always lag behind bigger form factors that can draw 100 watts. Pricing needs to be optimised for it along with QOL features.

Lmao, fuck no.

I'm interested in the Xbox Magnus because of Gamepass.

I'm interested in a PS6 and a PS6 Portable because of the locked ecosystem, physical games (not portable) and the return of the PSP as a full handheld Console.

If MS released an Xbox Handheld Console, I'd be down for that too later, because of Gamepass again, on the go, but they canned it.

But if I'm going to buy a PC handheld, it's going to be the Steam Deck 2, and nothing in between.

These things are so niche and too expensive. They might be interesting in 2-3 years with the advancements in semis, but not right now.

where do they think this liquidity is coming from? so unless they are expecting fed and other central banks drop rates back to 0 again like they did in 2009. No one will be buying this.

Do you not understand there's a difference between the Z2 Go in the Legion Go S and the Z1 Extreme in this video?

Lmao
There is a difference, but that has nothing to do with the video. Its a video comparing the Z1 Extreme and the Z2 Extreme, which is what your entire argument was based on.
Am I wrong?

In The post I made that you responded to with this video, the conversation was about the Z2 Go in the Legion Go S.

That's the most landslide poll GAF ever had.

And since we are wrong about everything else that means this will be sold out everywhere soon.

It's a good device at a not great price. I would have maybe considered it at something like 699 Euro max. For the 899 price, you may as well get an MSI Claw 8 AI+. It has a larger screen, more RAM, and a slightly better chip from Intel.

Absolutely!
The price is a joke but whatever. I'm going with the X. Never had a Windows handheld so it should be a nice entry point. The Xbox controller is my go-to controller on PC so the ergonomics/haptics/button on Xbox Ally seems perfect. Excited to see if Xbox App works well or if I'll have to use Playnite like on the living room PC, hopefully the fullscreen mode with modified Windows isn't restricted to Xbox App but works on anything.
