More, from P pulicat :

Water and rock textures/details are the weakest part of Yotei and look a couple of generations behind Shadows.

Another generational difference is snow and rain effects.

The biggest difference between Yotei and Shadows is definitely the lighting, where Yotei lighting is really flat in comparison to Shadows. Combined with low level of texture details and assets, it gave an early PS4-era graphics look.

Im playing shadows for a bit now, I was one shitting on it when all the stupid decisions emerged from ubisoft about it, not that it counts much but I'm having way more fun playing shadows then i had with playing valhalla.
Some lore changes here n there and no lies from Ubi could've secured them some more sales easily.
I'm even kinda surprised i begin to.... like the "Samurai" (to write this is super strange)

I choose Onimusha instead.

From tech perspective it might not be as high tech them? (I dont know I'm no tech expert) but I MUCH prefer Onimusha's art direction over these two games.

Maybe because I like how dark and moody Onimusha is compare to GoY and AC Shadows.

Onimusha isn't open world.

Capcom has yet to prove themselves with open world games. Each one they've made on RE Engine has had technical, framerate, and/or graphical issues.

Yeah too bad the mission/quest design rinse and repeat and story are all dogshit! Gave up after 12-15 hours of doing the same shit over and over. The game looks phenomenal though, was so impressed with the grpahics on Pro. I probably kept playing 5+ hours more than I did because of this.

Most probably don't care but Atsu character design makes a lot of sense.

Basically Japan has two distinct face types (North and South).

Atsu was born in the north of Japan in the Ezo region, which is now known as Hokkaido. While Naoe from AC Shadows was born in Iga, which was located at the the center of Japan in the Honshu island.

To me, Yotei looks better in every way besides water and destruction, which aren't a big deal to ME. The animation in Shadows in stiff compared to the fluidity of Yotei, and the textures and lighting look better as well.

Just my opinion..

There are many parts in Yotei that look too underwhelming, and if you were telling me it was from a PS3 game, I wouldn't be surprised. How is this even possible for a game running on PS5 with 16.7 teraflops?

Even with the budget RTGI in Yotei, that is an embarrassing showcase for their lighting vs Shadows.

Shadows looks awesome. Still the only main AC game I haven't played and likely won't unless they come out with a remixed version that completely removes the Yasuke abomination.

Shadows looks immaculate but it controls like shit, all the classic AC jank remains with just a really nice coat of paint.

I'm not talking about graphics, if you read my original post I said "Onimusha might not be high tech but I much prefer its art direction compare to GoY and AC".
Graphical fidelity is a part of 3D art. That concept-art esque imagery would not be possible otherwise.

I have a feeling you will have another rebuttal coming lol, but deep down I think you know what I mean.
