I won't knock you for enjoying it, happy for you, I'm out. Some people seem to think that PC Game Pass is no longer getting day one games, but that's not the case. I hate to say it's still a decent value even after the price hike.
Some people seem to think that PC Game Pass is no longer getting day one games, but that's not the case. I hate to say it's still a decent value even after the price hike.
What is? This is what you get with PC Game Pass after the changes:It's already confirmed for 2026, buddy
They always report that PC gamepass is where they see growth. Console gamepass stagnated a long time ago so that's why it gets the most frequent price increases. PC gamepass is still less than 20 a month and gets day one games.Almost nobody uses GamePass on PC. Game keys are relatively cheap and the service doesn't allow mods which is half the reason somebody would want to play on PC in the first place.
P.S. Since I only used GamePass on Series S to occasionally to demo sets of games I was on the fence about, I do not see myself ever using the service again.

Essential, no day one, premium, no day one, ultimate, day one, pc day one.
MS is a terrible company and is blowing it in the Xbox business.

Wait what?
Am I reading the press release wrong?
Ohh I see.......they hid the PC only tier and havent talked about directly in the press release.
Clever fools.

God I hatechinathe UK
If the games i want to play on the service roughly add up to the cost of outright buying them then its a deal breaker.So. That's not a deal breaker for me but I do respect if it is for you.
Basically on GP Ultimate , they're including more things (Ubisoft+, Xcloud 1440p, a larger number of day-one games beyond first-party titles, and benefits for F2P games) at the cost of raising the price by 50%.
It depends on each person whether it's convenient or not.
Personally, I think there's a need for a middle ground where a certain number of day-one games are released and EAplay-Ubi+ isn't included.
you'd think MS would trying make this less of a confusing mess to people
Always have, and always will. You're better off just buying games you want to play
Bringing in those extras is a good way to try to make it more palatable but I think the number of people who use both of those services is very low (which is why they did it). Fortnite Crew is apparently $12 a month and if you play enough Fortnite to care about this (I literally never heard of it until now), would you really be interested in having access to all these games on GamePass? Time is finite. This was a big shock and really pissed me off, but honestly after reading into it and seeing that Ultimate is getting Ubisoft+ and Fortnite Crew it isn't that crazy. I subbed and unsubbed from Fortnite Crew last month, which combined with Game Pass Ultimate was slightly more expensive then this price hike is.
I hate price increases in general but this isn't the worst thing in the world. Ultimate is out of the price range of lots of folks now but something had to give. We all know for sure now that CoD on GP was truly unsustainable.
Essential= No day one. First party games launch time after (from 1 to up to 12 months later)
Premium= No day one. First party games launch time after (Shorter time than for essential)
Ultimate= Day one (at least 79 Games day one per year)
PC Gamepass= Day one.
It not just there games, they been doing day ones from other publishers. But idk if I'm gonna keep the ultimate sub or game pass all together after this year.I would argue xbox does not make enough good games a year to remotely support this absurd cost. The whole thing is a non starter.
It wasn't.Always have, and always will.
What is? This is what you get with PC Game Pass after the changes:
Hundreds (400+) of PC games
Day-one Xbox Game Studios titles (including Call of Duty)
EA Play vault access
Ubisoft+ classics access (40+ games)
Member deals & discounts
In-game benefits for Riot Games, Overwatch, etc.
"PC Gamepass going away and will be GamePass Standard and GamePass Core and no day 1 games.
Increase in price for GamePass Ultimate to $25 (this may be delayed to 2026)
Cloud streaming included in all tiers
Subscription name changes, similar to PSN tiers (unconfirmed):
Gamepass core -> gamepass essential
Gamepass Standard -> Gamepass premium
2026:
cheaper ad based tier
streaming only free/cheap tier, time...
I was speaking for myself.It wasn't.
I got 3 years worth for around £80. And got waaay more value out of it than £80. Of course that's not the case now.
The point is that you are comparing buying with renting what isn't fair. You can rent these games for cheaper than gamepass subSo. That's not a deal breaker for me but I do respect if it is for you.
Came to say this. They must want Xbox to fully die.$30? First they kill xbox now they will kill Gamepass as well.
Lmfao, Xbox is done. I only kept gamepass to play gears 3 horde online. I'll just stick to gears 5 on steam. PC+PS from here on.![]()

Ok cool. Does it keep ea and Ubisoft stuff too or just the day one. Cause I have move on to pc. I was already thinking of getting rid of ultimate and move on to just pc game pass. But after this, I was like, idk if it worth it now I was gonna end game pass completelyJust saw that PC Game Pass will go to $16.49, which is still reasonable considering we get Day-1 releases. I thought we'd get the same increase as consoles and was trying to see the justification for that. I guess I'll keep my subscription for now, as it all depends on their catalog.
and stlll no yearly price.
If u pc. Dont need a ps either. There games coming too after 6months to a yearLmfao, Xbox is done. I only kept gamepass to play gears 3 horde online. I'll just stick to gears 5 on steam. PC+PS from here on.
100%. The Xbox back then isn't the same as now. The cool, alien looking box with the green LEDs, cool dashboards, and comfortable controllers is long dead. Replaced by the factory of sadness we have now.I remember....december 2005....i bought the Xbox 360 on play-asia because there was a shortage of the console here in canada and the USA...i was 15, life was good....now all of this is being destroyed....i miss my childhood....
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!
