I thought you could still do it if you wanted? Am I misremembering 3D Allstars?I am going to miss the nunchuck shake.

I was refusing to buy this, then somebody posted the peach stained glass window..... must resist...I was more comfortable when it was just the same and could feel smug relying on my WiiU to avoid FOMO without even playing it.
Dammit.

I have never played galaxy 2...... So I might bite at some point.I think the equalizer comes down to the controller. I have a CRT and 1080 set, so I can play the original versions with the intended sensor bar aim, without feeling the res is bad or spending $70. But I probably won't just because this remake came out, maybe I will when the Galaxy movie hits.

The Wi remote and nunchuck is just pure perfection for this game. So I am on the fence with this.I would go for it, incidentally it's the one I care more about the motion control, but I'm sure the gyro is good enough. Would suck in handheld mode though.

It's only £49 for the physical copy of Galaxy 1 and 2........... Might bite after all..In Galaxy 1 the aiming is pretty much just collecting starbits, so whatever. But in 2, you also have to use it to join consecutive jumps with Yoshi's tongue. I did it with the first level he appears in an emulator once, it's passable, but of course nothing beats that perfect 1:1 wiimote aim
Back from Gamestop to get my digital code for Galaxy 1&2 and walked out with a new Switch 2 and a zipper case to put it in.
I blame Mario for this. Spending money on my lunch break.
Also got a burrito for lunch. Mario will take care of that later on, bring the plunger.
I'm looking forward to playing through them again.Pick up my copy from Best Buy after work. I am excited to check out the improvements. Galaxy and Galaxy 2 are a couple of my all-time favorites. Hate the price, but I fell in line with the other Nintendo sheep.
Is the best way to play this docked with the Joycons, or is the new Pro Controller fine?
Docked with Joy-Cons, so you get authentic controls and that sweet 4K. A few hours in, and Galaxy 1 is still incredibly strong. Is the best way to play this docked with the Joycons, or is the new Pro Controller fine?
The gyro tech is definitely a lot better.Got the brand-new Switch 2 all setup transferring the Switch 1 data over. It's gonna take a while to download everything.
Found out the Pro controller for the Switch 1 also works on the Switch 2 for most features including motion control.
Does the Switch 2 pro controller have better motion control? I think it is only lacking the chat button, and you can't turn the Switch 2 on using the switch 1 pro controller.
The gyro tech is definitely a lot better.

Agreed. Huge improvement over Switch (1) though, which was the question.New gyro is better than the gyro in Wii Motion Plus add-on, which was necessary for Skyward Sword, but Galaxy didn't use it. It just relies on the IR pointer to aim at the screen. In those cases, the original hardware is better than any gyro. Probably not as big a deal as a first person game, but it is better.

Fantastic remasters. I recalibrated my gaming room LG B3 OLED to use HGiG and this game looks phenomenal with this hdr implementation.
Thanks, I went to Bestbuy this weekend and bought the Switch 2 pro controller and 1 more game, Donkey Kong Bonanza. The gyro tech is definitely a lot better.
As time goes on, I miss the wiimote pointer controls. Nintendo essentially expressed that was about innovating control. Then they left it behind.I am going to miss the nunchuck shake.
Ok. Maybe we can still do the nunchuck shake. I will have to try it out.I thought you could still do it if you wanted? Am I misremembering 3D Allstars?

How much better for you? I guess I need to try side by side both controller during couch play…Thanks, I went to Bestbuy this weekend and bought the Switch 2 pro controller and 1 more game, Donkey Kong Bonanza.
Motion does seem to be much better.
They do a Pro Controller 2 test at around the 7min mark using Splatoon.I should also try a Pro Controller 1… it might be much worse, but Pro Controller 2 is not immune to drift like that video makes the JoyCon 2 out to be.
Knowing Nintendo, they may have optimised the gyro implementation in the HW or in the game for something held and shaped like the JoyCon2 and it works a lot better with that.
Not sure what to tell you, on Super Mario Galaxy 1 I had to reset the gyro several times. It is Not like how he makes it look in his video. They do a Pro Controller 2 test at around the 7min mark using Splatoon.
Might be software related too, comments seem to mention drift with the pointer at least:
… in Super Mario Galaxy.
