There should be a feature to lock your cards NO MATTER WHAT for 6 hours. Or 12. Or something. Then of course I could See that backfiring in some emergency situations

There is. I have a few credit cards that allow you to pause or lock it. It's useful if you can't find your card, but you don't feel like canceling it because you think you'll end up finding it.
 
Drunk-bought games are just revealing your true desires since alcohol just lowers your defenses and you don't care about keeping up appearances. So if you buy Barbie's Horse Adventure when you're drunk, you're a true little pony.
 
I'm way too old to consciously decide to get drunk much less do anything irresponsible while drunk. The downsides are way more difficult these days.

Well. Not like I hop in my car or anything wreckless lol 😂 I'd say buying a game I wanted Is tame and still "responsible" of me. I'm looking out for future me who wanted the game already. Drunk me had the balls to buy it. Lol
 
I bought SW Outlaws for PS5 while I was high and I actually enjoyed it and low key thought Kay was a cute

Will double dip on Switch 2 when it gets the customary 75% Ubislop price reduction in 3 months

I don't think I could possibly find myself buying anything while drunk.
Mainly because I only drink in social occasions (I find it mighty sad to get drunk on your own) and gaming is not on my mind then.
Also, my metabolism is a bit high, so if I manage to get drunk (which is a rare occurrence), it doesn't last too long.
Lastly, I set an intricate password to confirm purchases that I doubt I would bother to type in while drunk.

My phone uses Face ID to confirm a purchase. Passwords irrelevant lol

Also. Sometimes you gotta be your own porch light.

But nah. Had some drinks for Alabama football game with bro in law yesterday (well. It was more for celebrating and watching the night games since we played early)
 
Dude I do this way too often. Recently I bought Rock of Ages 3, Puzzle Quest Immortal, and the Mario Galaxy rereleases.

I am definitely wallet-weak when I drink.

That's why a Casino (haven't been in YEARS) give free booze to customers. Wallets are weak to booze and they know it. Free booze for all who gambles lol
 
Not directly a game, but I did buy Xbox points on the 360 one night for like £50 and the next day checking my bank I thought I was hacked. I rang Microsoft and they said I had bought points, then bought The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion with some of them. I had even made a character and everything in the game, but had zero recollection.

A bit fucked thinking about it now, in terms of being that drunk, but I was a lot younger and dumber (up for debate) then. I did enjoy the old Xbox Arcade events too and the games that released during them, so it wasn't like I wasted the money, just spent it when it I shouldn't have.

For me it was mostly older or vintage games I used to buy when shitfaced.
Being drunk enhanced the nostalgia factor by 200% 😄

Examples are Arcade collections featuring Joust and Defender, Time Pilot, Galaga and Track & Field.

Played all of them 5 minutes and never touched again.

Yes. Nostalgia def hits a bit harder on booze. Agreed 1000%.

Def got a few NES lots off eBay back in the day when I had A few.
 
Get drunk, buy game, pass out while downloading. Rinse and repeat.

This is why steam is great. Refunds are like the abortion pill. I have no illegitimate games on steam.

I bought a bunch of Nintendo exclusives for Switch 2 a few months ago. Woke up to see I spent like 300 dollars. Why the fuck did I buy Pokemon Scarlet.?
 
I got drunk and saw a game called I'm in love with your dead grandma on sale for like a dollar or two. Thought it would be funny while buzzed. It was pretty lame, but I got a platinum. My only lame platinum trophy.
 
I bought Batman: Arkham VR one night digitally when I already had the physical copy. The good thing is it was like $11 at the time but yeah egg on my face.

Stumbled into Walmart around 4am on February 20th 2007, COMPLETELY BLACKED OUT, mind you, saw that Crackdown, and thusly the Halo 3 Beta, had released at midnight. In my stupor I somehow remembered my 360 had just caught it's 2nd case of RROD, and apparently not wanting to wait on the turnaround time to get my shit back from Microsoft, I guess I bought a whole ass other 360 along with Crackdown. I remember NONE of this. I DROVE there and back. I had NO reason to go there, let alone be in public. (Those were the bartending and drinking and driving every night years. Not proud of it, but kinda amazed I never got pulled over or killed anyone or anything like that.)

FF to the next day, I wake up with all the contents of the 360 box, and enough Rally's to feed a family of 8 all on top of me in the middle of my living room floor, with absolutely no clue what was happening...and then I saw Crackdown, and then I found the receipt and it all started to dawn on me what had happened. That was but one of many crazy things I ended up doing plastered on booze. I've been off the sauce for years now, and that is one of the many reasons I had to quit drinking, haha.

Went and bought a "Jasper" 360 new that lasted the entire gen
